Hope everything's ok mama? Wish dp would sleep on the sofa...

Ds is back to not going back to sleep after a feed so that only lasted one night Sad

IsThatTrue · 24/04/2013 01:11

I hope babies are behaving better. After. finally going down at 8, he didn't wake until 1! :) lets see how the rest of the night goes!

Anyone else's LO less interested in feeding after jabs? He's not fed very well at all yesterday!

Thanks seconds it's nice to hear of other babies doing the same, makes it feel more normal.

Isthat - c had jabs last week and is now feeding v little during the day (may go 3.5 hours between feeds and not be bothered) but she feeds more in the evening and at night. Not sure if jabs or coincidence.

First wake since df here! V impressed. Of course, this is when it all went haywire last night so better not count my chickens.

IsThatTrue · 24/04/2013 04:34

1-4.15 :)

(Sorry to keep note of times here but if I don't I wake in the morning with bugger all idea of when he fed!

spotty I hope DS has been settling easier!

Well he went down at 8 awake 11-12 and has just woken up now so not too bad. Not as good as your babies though EnvyGrin

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/04/2013 05:42

IsThat since jabs J has been eating a max of 24oz a day, used to be 40oz. It's not enough and it makes me howl with frustration as we're now waking twice in the night when he's slept through for 8 weeks!

It's making everyone push baby rice on me, I keep explaining that the last thing a baby who's already getting too few calories from milk needs is an artificially filled tum from what really amounts to wallpaper paste. Then I get "In my day...." Blah blah blah

halestone · 24/04/2013 06:00

Ladies you all have gorgeous babiesGrin

Isthat i think H fed at the same frequency but had less in oz's (iyswim) Although she cluster fed more in the early hours of the morning after her injections.

Utopian its annoying when other people (its mainly my mum and nan) try and push their weaning views on you. You know your LO best Grin is it me or do parents think rusks and baby rice are the answer to everything? I've decided to stop weaning for a few reasons for the moment, mainly her not being well. I can always go back to it.

halestone · 24/04/2013 06:01

I meant willyou not utopian (lack of sleep is killing me now.

HoneyMumandSon · 24/04/2013 06:10

We've had a lot if people telling us to start weaning since about 20 weeks even though D was showing no signs. Started playing with food about 24 weeks but he's only been interested enough to try eating anything this week (26 weeks)

IsThatTrue · 24/04/2013 06:27

Thanks willyou glad it's not just me! ( or DS should I say)

It is weird how people think baby rice is the worlds saviour, I have not and never will fed my children it. I tasted it once and it awful!

So last nights report: 8-1, 1.15-4.15 and 4.30-6.15 not bad at all.

The rat mans back today, lets hope it's all sorted Confused

SpottyTeacakes · 24/04/2013 06:59

Ds went back down fine second time and woke at 6:30 so only two night wakings really. If only he'd gone straight back down at 11!

Secondsop · 24/04/2013 07:51

'Morning all. A pretty good night here; 8-2:15 (in the cot from 10pm), 2.30-7.10, a change, feed and a bit of cuddling and now he's back asleep again. Hope to hear of better nights all round.

MaMaPo · 24/04/2013 08:22

I'm not sure all the change in feeding is due to jabs - a developmental thing, I think. Plus sleep regression, joy!

A good night. She went down fine at 3.30 and woke at 6.50. Cuddling for her nap now though. I hope her napping gets back on track.

I will use baby rice here, but only as a thickener. It's not for the delicious taste! I work with lots if speech therapists who rehabilitate swallowing after brain injury, and baby rice does just the same thing - makes fluids a bit thicker so babies can practice swallowing different consistencies. I doubt we'll use it for long though.

High chair and cot arrived yesterday - what a grown up girl! She'll start using them once they're all assembled.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/04/2013 08:28

Diet starting today. Must shift this stone....

FriendofDorothy · 24/04/2013 08:29

I'm tired. The Little Mister woke to be fed every 2 hours. Not sure whether I was more aware of him due to the sunburn or whether he was generally unsettled.

MaMaPo · 24/04/2013 08:30

FoD :( coffee for you. and cake too but don't show it to Spotty

halestone · 24/04/2013 08:39

My breasts have been really sore this morning, and now i've just leaked everywhere. I leaked a little bit the other day as well when H was crying but DP had her. Do you think this is normal? I stopped BF on 14th

Barbeasty · 24/04/2013 08:52

Spotty It's so hard. You're not a bad mum, just one with a DD at a difficult age! Will she be at nursery this week, to give you a sort of break?

We have jabs tomorrow, so we'll see what it does to A!

I'm suddenly feeling better about going back to work in 6 weeks (eek!)

We were talking about how on earth we'd manage school runs etc next year, and have come up with a plan where DH will do the drop off and I will go back to 5 days, starting early so that I can finish in time to pick DD up. So, although I hate my job, I just have to think that it should allow me to do this.

Obviously if my numbers come up on the lottery I'm off!

itsMYNutella · 24/04/2013 10:05

Ahhh lovely. We have a refusal to nap here. And he has just fixed me with a very concentrated look and done a poo.... Ahhh motherhood.

Stacks · 24/04/2013 10:17

Hi everyone. Been ages since I've had time to read or post. We've still got bad sleep here, waking up every 1-2 hours overnight. He's 4 months tomorrow, if we go from 25th, or 17.5 weeks. Luckily he's totally adorable or I may have given him away by now. He's eating my hand and watching tv with me just now bad mummy.

Equimum · 24/04/2013 10:26

Glad to hear lots of people had a better night. We had troubling settling, but then only woke 1.30, 5.30, 7-7.45 and he's still asleep Confused. Keep thinking I should wake him, but not too sure.

Good luck with your diet Spotty

We're off to new parenting group today (if DS wakes up!) but I'm missing the sun already...is all grey and overcast here today!

itsMYNutella · 24/04/2013 10:55

Equi i hope you have a nice time at the parenting group. I need another parenting group or class to go to... My aerobics for mummies class is finished and it was two mornings a week... Don't know what to do with myself now...

DS is finally asleep so I can have a shower, yay, thank goodness for the pressure point between the eyebrows :) had to be a bit less gentle than usual but it has done the trick!!

ISpyPlumPie · 24/04/2013 10:58

N is now 19lb so gaining at the rather more steady rate of 1lb per month. He's also still following his line, which I'm relieved about given the issues with feeding last week.

While I was at the clinic I checked about vitamins, as my friend has started giving them to her son who is just a few weeks older than N (but he was born a few weeks early too which is I think why they started them). Apparently the advice has changed for bf babies to start vits earlier than 6 months - she didn't say when, just that N should be taking them now. This had somehow passed me by. Feel quite guilty but hv has reassured me it will be fine starting now and he'll not end up with rickets.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/04/2013 11:18

Ispy I always thought it was six months too?

I've just had a spray tan and am now sticky and smelly (both from the tan and no deodorant Wink) not the best day to have it done as dd has a physio appointment later.

Dd goes to nursery twice a week so I do get a break. Each of them on their own is fine but both together is too much because ds cries all the time
