I love people's getting together stories! Why was he scars det [innocent face]

izzy I is between 98 and 99 centile and also a monster but feeds like crazy in day. DD1 never slept at night or in fact in the day ... ]

itsnotyouitsMeals · 29/03/2013 23:08

Scared not scars.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 29/03/2013 23:09

Well that sleep lasted a long time! He's up! Have sent in DH as he can't need fed ywt

StuntNun · 29/03/2013 23:27

J had a monster feed just now so hopefully poor ol' DH will get through the night with just one feed. Night all.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 29/03/2013 23:45

Turns out he did want to feed. Fed him back to sleep and Dd wakes up wanting to come in out bed. Just had to sing to her to get her to go back to sleep in her own room.

kirrinIsland · 30/03/2013 00:43

First feed. Her ' long sleep' seems to have been dropped, but we'll see how rest of the night goes....

LuisGarcia · 30/03/2013 00:53

Signs you might be sleep deprived #307:

Me "This potato has been in the oven for 3 hours, why does it still feel raw?"

MrsG "That's not the oven, it's the fridge"

itsnotyouitsMeals · 30/03/2013 01:04

Night all. Here's to sleepy nights xxx

TheDetective · 30/03/2013 02:58
Biscuit

O still thinks he can have 4hrly feeds. Round the clock.

YellowWellies · 30/03/2013 03:01

Meals I was about to say 'it contains soya' about booja booja but woo two flavours don't! Mmmmmm must find a stockist. Thanks.

First only, pretty please night feed, not bad he's been down nearly six hours. Come on bear another long stretch please Smile

ValiumQueen · 30/03/2013 03:03

Just typed long post and pressed wrong sodding button.

Been up with the girls several times and they have woken J with coughing. Just feeding him now.

I am 44 next month. Clearly old enough to be detectives mum.

kirrinIsland · 30/03/2013 03:12

Grin Luis Hope L is sleeping better tonight.

We're onto feed 2, and have been for about an hour

PurplePidjin · 30/03/2013 03:45

Thanks all. I can't put myself first because that would compromise either R's well being or dp's recovery. Dp does what he can but he tires rapidly so it has to be optional, and i need to pick up the slack. My mum's up the road and does a bit. Every so often she realises the smile id fake and ups her game :)

I have a cabbage white butterfly in brambles on my right hip. Dp has a kali escrima bloke in outline on his back.

Bryzoan · 30/03/2013 05:15

Pidj - stop the fake smile and be open with your mum. You do need support now - and to be blunt you need support yourself in order to be able to support r and dp effectively. When I had dd1 my situation was nowhere near as tough as yours is now but I really struggled. And I didn't ask for support because I thought I'd have to learn to deal with it. I know it seems interminable but this really tough patch will actually be relatively short lived. Get your mum properly on board with you while you need her. Thanks for suggesting ringwood by the way. Might be a goer one Friday afternoon but with the 2 of them I am more of a high maintenance whirlwind than A relaxing social event - might not be quite what you need right now...

Luis. Love it. I keep putting things back in the fridge instead of the freezer by mistake. Drives dh mad :-)

My little varmint has now decided that sleep in the day is for wimps, and any at night should be.in 90 min chunks only. You could set a watch by him. He can't be getting as much sleep as he needs. I'm assuming he has forgotten how to resettle - but nothing other than feeding is working and I'm too knackered to persevere much. This has to be the 4 month regression, right?

PurplePidjin · 30/03/2013 05:53

Thanks Friday 12th is slingmeet in Ringwood [bwink]

kirrinIsland · 30/03/2013 06:05

pidj what bryzoan said ^^ Pretending everything is fine won't get you anywhere fast. You need support at the moment, there's nothing wrong with that. Thanks

I think - and I may be clutching at straws here - that N really does sleep much better when she's had an afternoon nap. Thursday she had a good hour (and not on me) and we had a pretty good night. Yesterday she dodged sleep all afternoon and then fell apart at the seams at about 7. She slept on me from about 8.30 but wouldn't go down in her cot til 11, and has then woken every 2 hours or so all night. Problem is, how do I get her to sleep, not on me, with a toddler around who doesn't understand/want to be quiet til the baby's asleep?

Lily311 · 30/03/2013 07:00

kirrin I believe sleep breeds sleep. O has 4 naps during the day and she sleeps through just with a dream feed. If she has 3 than she is up twice during the night.

pidj i know how it is to pretend you are fine. Please ask for help. It will make a huge difference.

Good night here, she got up at 10, stirred at 2 and woke at 5.20.

No piercing here apart from ears. Would love a nose one but I am a whimp.

Bryzoan · 30/03/2013 07:04

Kirrin - I'm also sure daytime naps are key. If you find the answer to the toddler question let me know.

Pidj - what happens at slingmeet beside sling trying? Would my toddler cause chaos? Is there a park around there I could take her to? She likes parks and she likes going to a cafe and eating cake!

YellowWellies · 30/03/2013 07:13

He heard me - only one night feed! And Mummy and Daddy woke up before him and had time to be naughty! Grin

PurplePidjin · 30/03/2013 07:26

Bryz you have pm.

Off to the in laws today...

Pikz · 30/03/2013 07:36

Morning chumps!

France has lots and lots of snow. LO is being entertained by 14 other kids. He's so exhausted he's sleeping through! Woohoo. Currently he's napping on my lap!

Lots of love to all xxxx

StuntNun · 30/03/2013 07:48

I had sleep! 6-7 hours! I didn't sleep that well on the air bed but it was the best I've had in a long time. Unfortunately I woke up just after six so no lie in for me. I don't think DH has had much sleep though so sleep training starts tomorrow to try and get J to stay in his cot all night.

OP posts:
kirrinIsland · 30/03/2013 07:54

Not envious about the snow pikz but a group hols in France sounds lovely. Glad he's sleeping through. Perhaps he'll get into the habit and keep doing it when you get home - fx'd !!

Right, operation 'nap if it kills me' will commence in earnest tomorrow then. We'll be ok today as I'm going to a friend's house which is quite a drive away so she should sleep on the way home.

I haven't looked out of the window yet but the rain sounds torrential. Lovely!

And DD1 had DP up at half five, so I think it's a good thing I'm taking them out today, he can catch up on some sleep. Yesterday was row central in our house, so I shall lay low until we leave. Being tired does not bring out the best in either of us.

kirrinIsland · 30/03/2013 07:59

Cross post stunt yay for sleep :) I shall watch your sleep training efforts with interest as that will be the next step for us soon too. N has to be sleeping better by the time I go back to work in a few weeks or it will be a disaster

ValiumQueen · 30/03/2013 08:19

Well J slept from 7.30 to 7.30, woken by wind at 8.30, Daddy at 10, and his sister at 3.30. He settled quickly after a brief feed each time, and looked as pissed off as me for being awake. He woke smiling. He is very snotty, and only took 4oz. He seems to average 24 oz a day, with the odd bf. so much for being a hungry baby. DD2 started on solids at this age, and DD1 a week earlier. He is showing no signs of wanting solids. He will however be starting on prune juice today.
