Any remaining lurkers, would you like to de-lurk and announce yourselves? We won't bite!

OP posts:

Passmethecrisps · 22/03/2013 17:52

P is fine - thanks vq. Bit of a rash - just mild eczema. Glad the formula seems to be doing the job for J. Brilliant!

I am sorry about yet more illness pikz

Lol at BIL using hair straighteners clarella. That is all kinds of wrong.

TheDetective · 22/03/2013 17:52

I would like to declare, O has been in his sleepsuit since 10am yesterday morning. It is still clean. It is NOT getting fucking changed. This takes me back to the early days Grin. Awesome!

pikz Oh bollocks. This fucking RSV better fuck the fuck off now. It's beyond a joke.

BP I might try a nappy Grin.

I have a very sore fanjo today. Imagine you are getting electric shocks in your arse. That is what I am having. It is quite fucking dangerous to be honest. I got some while I was driving, and they are very distracting, making me jump and wince in pain.

Siiiiiiiiiiiigh.

TheDetective · 22/03/2013 17:57

VQ That was pretty much the same reaction when we gave the LF formula. It was as if he was breathing a sigh of relief. The calmness after the feed was amazing.

Such a relief.

Yesterday must have been a one off. He's been feeding well again today, and slept through last night. Fingers crossed. Maybe he just felt under the fucking shitty weather?!

Brockle · 22/03/2013 18:15

thanks ladies, may leave weaning until he is twenty weeks. I am getting his seat out of the loft this weekend to sit on our dining chairs so he can join us at tea time Smile

good luck for Monday clarella and glad you have a chilled baby vq Smile.

Y has similar nap times chasing . he has an hour at 9am, an hour or more at midday and an hour at 3ish. he sometimes fits in a cat nap before his bedtime at 7.30.

ds1 us going to his first rugby match tonight. concerned he may get frost bite!

WallinoMio · 22/03/2013 18:19

I too will briefly delurk for the second time

I've been lurking since the very beginning but have never really posted for one reason or another...my FIL was diagnosed with a brain tumor in October while he was visiting us which basically meant he ended up coming to live with us (long story). So we had to move flat (which we did three days before I gave birth) and care for him full time as he tumor was inoperable. He died on Tuesday. So while I've been really enjoying reading all your freds I've never really felt up to posting...apart from baby J it's probably been the crappest six months of my life! But the support here (even though none of you even know I exist!) is amazing!

Sorry for the depressing post. This quiche rocks! I will attempt to delurk mo cheerfully in the future Grin

YokoUhOh · 22/03/2013 18:30

Wallino so sorry to hear about your FIL, it's nice that he got to meet your LO before he died :)

TheDetective · 22/03/2013 18:32

Weaning - we are still waiting for 6 months here. So 23rd May will be the big day Grin. I think O will be one of the last ones!

Naps, O wakes between 7 and 8.30, then nap an hour to an hour and a half later. He starts with a short 30 min nap, then has 2 naps increasing in time, til he has a big 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. Then he has another 1-2 naps before bed time, of 30 mins - 1 hr. All in all he sleeps about 6 hours in the day still. Still unsettled in his sleep though. I may try cot naps tomorrow. Though may as well leave the fucking curtains closed. They are a pain to open as I have to reach over the cot. If he is napping in there, sod it. They can stay shut!

Bed time is 8.30-9.30.

ValiumQueen · 22/03/2013 18:32

mio so very sorry to hear that Sad welcome, and glad you have felt supported here. I hope you will feel you can now join us properly.

Lily311 · 22/03/2013 18:50

Baby in bed, dinner in oven, wine in my glass.

We are post jabs and she has really soRe legs, they are actually bruised. We didn't get the appointment for her hip, called gp, she will chase it next week.

As for virginity, lost it at 17. To my first serious boyfriend. Condom split so we had a mad rush to the chemist who happened to be the friends of his family Blush. He is now doing well, became a dentist and has a baby girl, i am happy for him.

chasing i am glad that upping the formula worked, try increasing it next week again by 1oz. O is only a week older than your little one and drinks 6 oz at eveRy feed if I give her 7 oz in a bottle. She goes down for a nap 70 min after waking than she follows the 90 min rule (awake for 90 min than sleeps for 45). It is a pain as I would appreciate a longer nap. She doesn't sleep after 4 and is in bed by 6.45-7.

wallino so sorry, I am so glad your little one met your FIL.

I have an appointment with a solicitor on Tues. £100+vat Angry. Sorting out her birth certificate will cost me over a £1000, just the Dna was £500 Sad.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 22/03/2013 19:01

lily you have probably posted the reason why it needs sorting before, but think I missed it.

wallnio also sorry about your FIL. What a tough few months for you. Thanks

Detective similar here re weaning. Going to start at the end of April after a few days away but before mid-May when I am back at work FT.

MissMummy1 · 22/03/2013 19:07

I missed the whole end of the last thread!

Welcome lurkers, so sorry you havent all had it easy.

Pass and others with skin issues ask to be referred to a dermatologist. Ours has been fantastic. Failing that porridge oats in a tied muslin in the bath is great for eczema.

BPLP I had a 206 two cars back. I loved it. Mine was a diesel and ran for 50k miles on cooking oil lugging surf boards and unwashed students up and down the country. I moved house in it 3 or 4 times. I loved that car so much I cried when I wrote it off Blush

I think I am going to buy myself a clio. I have seen a few that I could buy outright (getting a VERY nice payout for my car, 3x what I was expecting Grin ) . Him indoors being an absolutr arsehole today and announced any car we buy will be in his name and I can use it when he isnt if it suits him. He can fuck right off if he thinks he can hold that over me, I have had my own car since I was 17. Angry Angry Angry

In fact he is being an arseholse full stop. All my fault of course, I am 'impossible to love' Angry Sad

Sorry for ranting. In other news I had a lovely day with the wonderful yw and Jonas and another friend and her kids.

YellowWellies · 22/03/2013 19:10

Yey for LF formula - and yey for persistent kick ass mummies who battled hell, high water, HV and receptionists to get what their babies needed. You should all be v proud.

Yoko I was a Hildabeast but resident in Magdalen college bar most nights. I matriculated in 97. Am assuming you were Magdalen Oxford, not 'the other place'?

Hello lurkers Smile. Wallino that's a hell of a six months you've been through. Wishing you, Lily, chasing and everyone who's had tough times - some nice calm waters and plain sailing.

Went round to see MM today. Jonas might have blown it with Tilly, as after some cute hand holding, he tried to snatch her octopus toy and then shat himself. Think he might need some romance lessons!!! Grin

YellowWellies · 22/03/2013 19:13

MM do you want me to do a number on him? I couldn't keep a straight face today when he announced daddies have it harder than mummies as they have to look after mummies AND babies. Smile Men. Its a good thing they have willies. Smile

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 22/03/2013 19:17

YW Grin at romance lessons

Lily311 · 22/03/2013 19:19

Madam O doesn't have a father named on birth certificate as we weren't married and he passed away before birth. I need him to be on it, I owe him that, I owe her that. I also gave O his surname which I might have not agreed to if he was alive.

MsJupiterJones · 22/03/2013 19:20

HAVE YOU SORTED YOUR LEG OUT VQ?

I had the happiest boy today. So smiley! It was such a nice experience, I am used to him being a right old grumpy knickers for several stretches a day. I think he is delighted to have got over this cold we've both had. His first so we are lucky but it knocked us both for six.

WallinoMio · 22/03/2013 19:22

Thanks all Smile Hopefully the next six months will be easier than the last six. It's true that my FIL got to meet J but I don't think he really knew who he was, the hardest part was the confusion caused by the tumor and having to deal with the fact that he didn't even recognize me and DP, as well as the full time physical care.

Re weaning, I haven't even thought about it yet other than making a list of stuff I want from Ikea! though I won't be going until they start selling meatballs again You all seem much more organized than me! I'll be back at work part time at the beginning of May so should really make some decisions soon about how to proceed!

Does anyone else have massively drooly babies but with no obvious signs of teething?

ChasingDaisy · 22/03/2013 19:23

Detective we will be waiting until 6 months here too - so 28th May for us Smile. He has never seemed particularly mature digestive wise. He doesnt take much milk at feeds and he is a risk of a number of allergies, so I am in no hurry to start. His cousin who is 12 days older started bang on 17 weeks last week. Clarella I know exactly what you mean about the competitive parenting, being pregnant at the same time as my SIL (with due datws one day apart) was interesting Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 22/03/2013 19:24

mio you delurked briefly a few weeks ago. Sorty about your FIL that must all have been very hard to deal with (hugs)

ChasingDaisy · 22/03/2013 19:25

Oh MM I have been told I am impossible to love too. Don't believe it.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 22/03/2013 19:31

lily so sorry, I didnt realise the administrative burden would be there as well as the obvious emotional burden Thanks

BigPigLittlePig · 22/03/2013 19:35

Welcome back mio - sorry to hear your sad news.
pikz for you and LO - illness sucks.

F had the most fun in the bath tonight, I fed her partway through which seemed to give her renewed energy and then she was going beserk. I would have videoed it, but the camera battery isn't charged also I was in the bath and nobody needs to see that

mm the 206 is sadly sold. I continue to hunt, in vain.

MissMummy1 · 22/03/2013 19:46

BP I am also car hunting in vain it seems. I think I will go and look at some clios tomorrow morning. There are 3/4 in my area quite cheap. Unfortunately no 206s that dont have scary high mileage!

MissMummy1 · 22/03/2013 19:47

YW I was gobsmacked he said that in front of you. He is delusional. Confused

MissMummy1 · 22/03/2013 19:47

(and still hasn't been able to name 1 way in which his life has changed)
