I'm also thankful, especially after yesterday's news, that I don't suffer from PND. I thought I was at one point but it was the sodding cerazette.

rootypig · 28/02/2013 08:56

yw yy to the instant outrage, as if they find themselves abandoned by the side of the road, and not forced to wait, oooh, four or five seconds for maman to pop her udders bloody boob out Smile

I suppose quite like it in a way, since DD is a girl, will be encouraging her to maintain this attitude of expectation so she doesn't get walked all over sidelined as I've sometimes let myself be

So I am thankful for naturally assertive DD! long may it last

horsey have you heard of Ashton and Parsons teething powder? a friend with 18mo DD swears by them. most likely to find them in a pharmacy I think. you give to the LO morning and night.

Passmethecrisps · 28/02/2013 08:56

Good morning beautiful bappers,

I am thankful for lots of things:
DP is a total star.
I have a baby in her Moses basket trying to simultaneously stuff a dummy, her fist and a toy sheep in her mouth.
That I am part of the best quiche on MN

Evilwater · 28/02/2013 09:02

Eliza -thinking of you.

Thank you for all the support, I know it's the right choice but sometimes it's nice to hear it.

I'm thankful for:
A loving family,
Wonderful friends,
My baby boy,
A full belly,
A warm house,

Evil

Passmethecrisps · 28/02/2013 09:26

evil you have had such a hard time but you are endlessly brave and cheerful. I hope your meeting goes well.

Oh. I am also grateful for ni

Passmethecrisps · 28/02/2013 09:32

Sorry. . .

Nipple cream. Lansinoh to be precise

I am currently using my tube for:
Wee p's dry cheeks
My own dry eyelids
My lips

sweetpea1112 · 28/02/2013 09:34

Oh pass that's interesting about the nipple cream. I have an unused tube so may try it on O's dry cheeks.

ChunkyChicken · 28/02/2013 09:40

I am thankful that, generally, my dc tend to be healthy & apparently physically & developmentally average/'normal'.

I am thankful that my not so new house is much bigger than our old one goddamn toys & thousands of drawings & paintings by DD and so v close to family, a good school & leisure centre.

I am thankful my boobs do a good job & I can feed laying down :)

ValiumQueen · 28/02/2013 09:40

I am thankful for evil for suggesting thankful Thursdays. I think we all benefit greatly because it helps us focus on what is really important in life.

I am thankful for my beautiful baby boy, and that he has got to 4 months safely. I am also thankful that I will never have to repeat the last 4 months, as they have been very hard.

I am thankful that he is sleeping better.... Just in time for the 4 month regression no doubt. I thought we were through it, but now I think not.

I am thankful my husband has passed his driving test, and can take the girls to school and nursery so I can feed J at my leisure.

I am thankful for my wonderful Internet friends here x

Passmethecrisps · 28/02/2013 09:42

It is great stuff sweet. I only used mine a few times so have a full tube. P has a weird rough patch on both cheeks and is a beggar for scratching at them while she is eating. The cream forms a seal so is quite protective while also healing the rough bit.

I also get eczema on my eyelids occassionally. I have never used anything which has healed it so quickly

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 28/02/2013 09:53

Morning all! Didn't get much chance to post yesterday, spend every spare minute catching up on the thread. It's like a really good soap opera, I have to read everything or I feel I'm missing out.

((Hugs)) to Eliza. I have a friend in baby cafe who's daughter is 6 months old and has just hit 10lbs. EBF also, she's a happy contented baby, just small. I hope it's the same for your little lady and you are sent home with a clean bill of health.

I watched call the midwife followed by OBEM last night, I'm a sucker for a sob fest.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 28/02/2013 09:54

Forgot about the thanks. I'm thankful that I have no worries.

ChunkyChicken · 28/02/2013 09:56

Oh and I am thankful that whilst DH might be irritatingly untidy and couldn't clear up after himself if you paid him he does love me.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/02/2013 09:57

Ooh. I'm now thankful I didn't throw out my almost unused tube of Lansinoh. I'll be even more thankful when I remember where I put it.

I'm thankful for the last four months, but like VQ am thankful that I will never have to go through them again.

I am realising that I am already forgetting things from DD1's babyhood, and I am thankful that for both girls I keep a kind of diary where I note down key moments in their lives and in the lives of people around them. So when they ask me when they first smiled/walked/swore I'll be able to tell them or just give them their books, where it is all written down, along with observations on the political landsacpe of the time and favourite recipes. You think you'll never forget these precious moments but you do, especially when there's another of them.

I'm annoyed that LO's book is far less detailed, and I hope she doesn't hold it against me at a later date.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/02/2013 10:05

I'm thankful for LO sleeping til 3.30 and then til 7 and the fact that she has finally grown into her "coming home from hospital" outfit - how big did I think she was going to be?!

Still feel sick despite sleep.
Not impressed.

Glad you're feeling better pr

ChunkyChicken · 28/02/2013 10:07

Have the same thing PR. Have a baby journal (exact same one for both dc because I liked it & thought that was 'fair') and do try to keep track of things but know DS isn't getting as much attention as DD did at the same age.

For example, I used to take a hundred pictures of DD on her weekly birthday, & although quite a few were lost when the laptop decided to be shit went wrong, we still have a lot. I feel a bit :( that I don't have any nice pictures of just DS & I since he was born - I had 3 or 4 sets taken with DD by the same age. Will just have to make sure DH takes a few nxt wk when we're away.

I also try to remember that, whilst cameras are great, you can't be making the memory and behind the camera at the same time. Fewer pictures just means we've been busy living....

I am now keeping a journal too, so I can keep track of what's happening in our lives. I may try to get an album whilst on holiday to put snaps & other bits & pieces in as soon as we get back.

ChunkyChicken · 28/02/2013 10:11

Forgot to write the sentence "Sometimes I forget DS has got a week older so totally forget to take a picture!!" in my 2nd paragraph!!

misslaughalot · 28/02/2013 10:51

I am thankful that my gorgeous babylaughalot is happy and smiles at me first thing in the morning, can't think of a better way to start the day!

I am also thankful for our tumble dryer.

Now, can anyone tell me where I've put the sodding baby hairbrush?! It was on the arm of the sofa last week and I need to give her hair a brush to get the cradle cap out.....where the hell has it gone?!

PetiteRaleuse · 28/02/2013 10:55

It's fallen off and been kicked underneath the sofa?

The dog ate it?

It's fallen off and been squashed down into the sofa cushions whe it is picking up biscuit crumbs and 5p pieces?

misslaughalot · 28/02/2013 11:05

Not under the sofa, no dog, not under the sofa cushions with all the cake crumbs

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 28/02/2013 11:15

DS has just been weighed by the health visitor. 19lbs at 17 weeks!! He really is my chunky monkey!

She did the PND score on me and I scored fine which I'm thankful for as with my DD I developed PND around 4.5months after she was born. That was tough, especially as I was still recovering from the PPP.

Contradictionincarnate · 28/02/2013 11:50

yay thankful Thursday ...
yeah thanks evil for starting it ...I am thankful for this quiche is the best has helped me so much!
