We're still EBF too. Ds didn't like the formula we tried when I was having a bad night, that was ages ago though. I too would worry about my supply if I started mix feeding although I know loads of people manage to do it for months very successfully.

Off to pil for a roast today Smile got to go and get some sheets etc for dd's new bed first, she was in the cot bed but dd will need that soon.

Eggs, we're still EBF too. I can still feel my supply change and adapt but there's almost no engorgement any more.

Lots if good plans for today! After this feed I'm handing baby to husband, putting in earplugs and hoping for some unbroken sleep. Later on i think we'll head into Chinatown for the new year celebrations.

Stacks · 10/02/2013 11:04

We're still ebf too, sometimes DS seems to be feeding off an empty breast, but he still gets enough. Past few nights he's been sleeping longer so I've woken up with quite engorged breasts. He empties them in the morning though.

I put DS in his crib for the first time last night. He slept from 10-2 without stirring. Went back down after his feed too, but DH told me he'd filled his nappy when he first went down. So had up get him up, change and feed him. Decided not to put him back in his crib though. I missed having him in bed with me.

IsThatTrue · 10/02/2013 11:06

Happy Chinese New Year everyone.

Well DS has been asleep since I put him in the car at 10. Usually he only does 10 min naps in the day! Shock just sat outside my best friends house waiting for her to get back from the shops. Then it's girly catch up and we're supposed to be walking her dogs but its raining a lot so I don't know if she'll want to bother tbh.

Is green poo a symptom of teething?

MaMaPo · 10/02/2013 12:45

Goodness Honey - teeth! Sorry, no idea.

Wow - husband just woke me up with hungry baby but I got a 3 hour sleep! And she went 4 hours between feeds which is unusual during the day unless she's asleep. Husband just having breakfast now - what a good man.

Chloe55 · 10/02/2013 12:49

honey green poo can be a sign of fore milk/hind milk imbalance (although this is no longer thought to be a problem), a virus, teething or for some babies the norm. My dd started with green poo after I had gastroentiritis 3 weeks ago, I have been well a couple of weeks now but dd still got mostly green poo! HV seemed unconcerned and just told me to carry on as I'm doing as its obviously working which shows in dd's weight gain.

Chloe55 · 10/02/2013 12:50

She did advise making sure I drink plenty of water-are you bring? If so, could you be a little dehydrated?

Chloe55 · 10/02/2013 12:51

breastfeeding not bring obviously Hmm also green poo can be as a result of something you have eaten with lots of food coloring in.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/02/2013 12:52

Why don't people give you your baby back when they're crying?!

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 10/02/2013 12:54

That really annoys me too spotty - its like they need to prove they can stop them crying! I just hold my arms out as a gesture that I want them back....now!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/02/2013 13:03

I'd already said he was hungry Angry

Honey at this stage I wouldn't assume teeth. Ds sometimes has green poo but never for long

OP posts:
halesball · 10/02/2013 13:39

I hate that spotty and get really really annoyed when people do it xxx

halesball · 10/02/2013 13:39

OMG sorry i put kisses must have thought i was sending a text message

ISpyPlumPie · 10/02/2013 13:53

We're still ebf, largely due to laziness convenience.

Honey - don't remember green poo specifically, but DS1's nappies definitely changed when he was teething. They were runnier and had a distinctive amonia smell. Apparently it's due to them swallowing more saliva. Also, don't want to scare anyone but he got his first teeth at three months so certainally a possiblilty!

Slight breakthrough here last night. Put N into his moses basket still awake while I got ready for bed. Got back to find he'd fallen asleep and he stayed that way for three hours. Really pleased as it took DS1 absoultely eons to self-settle. Just hoping it wasn't a one-off.

Stacks · 10/02/2013 13:53

Spotty my mil does that. I think she wants to give me a break, but also prove she can calm him. I told DH to watch for these situations and take him back if it comes up.

Honey teething can start from about 10 weeks. They get red cheeks and drool a lot. Or so I've been told. DS gets green poo about once a day - looks like mushy peas. No idea why, but doc said anything is normal for a bf baby.

Doc also said for nappy rash where the skin is broken to use egg white. Anyone else heard this?

WLmum · 10/02/2013 13:58

Yep spotty hate that so much, I've developed a ' let me take her' approach and I do take her back. I find it really stressful when she's crying on someone else. Before Xmas I shouted at fil for not giving me/letting me get to dd2 who was crying for me!

hales mwah! I have deleted xxx so many times from the end of a post! Glad it's not just me.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/02/2013 14:30

I expect teeth come through on a corrected age basis? Dd always had very rosy cheeks, runny nose, dribble, bad nappy and chewed everything possible.

I also nearly put xxx at the end quite often!

OP posts:
Secondsop · 10/02/2013 14:41

When do teeth come in?

ispy that's been our major breakthrough with Z in the past couple of weeks - I can put him in the bassinet at night wide awake and he puts himself to sleep. Sometimes he needs a dummy but not always. At the start when he wouldn't sleep anywhere except with us we just let him rather than fight a battle; don't know whether that's helped him feel secure enough to fall asleep by himself. I do have the bassinet right next to the bed though; don't know if it'll be harder when he's in the big cot.

HoneyMumandSon · 10/02/2013 15:04

I thought it was a possibility as he's very dribbly, very whingey, clingy and then green poo. And as he was in such a rush to get here I'm worried he might do things like teeth early!

FriendofDorothy · 10/02/2013 15:46

Is there meant to be an 8 week growth spurt? Edward has been like a feeding machine today!

MaMaPo · 10/02/2013 17:56

FoD, I think we had an 8 week spurt here. Her sleeping went rubbish too.

Seconds, great news on the self settling. C does it in the night and some morning naps, but I haven't tried the evening yet. Fx your little one has learned a new skill!

C was a good girl today - slept in the sling while we watched the very noisy lion dancing, then dozed and fed while we had some dim sum. It was bloody cold out there! Now she's done some playing and tummy time, and soon we'll have a massage, bath and bed. We bought a monitor so we can try to put her to bed in the other room.

And I'm going to cook more Chinese for dinner - dan dan noodles, yum!

utopian99 · 10/02/2013 18:31

We are home after lovely weekend (bar tired baby incident!). It makes you realise why tribes who rear children together do so well - it's do much easier having willing hands to hold a LO while you eat/wash etc..

Seconds great news on the settling!

IsThatTrue · 10/02/2013 20:00

Dd got her first teeth at 4 months. I can't remember with DS Blush

WLmum · 10/02/2013 21:40

Both big dds were late teethers, didn't get any til about a year - dd2s bud had his full set when she still only had 2! Not sure how bfing with teeth goes...
