this is a fab article. Very helpful.

I just has to remove a massive slug from the kitchen. normally make DH deal with them bit he'd left for work

zcos · 25/01/2013 07:37

now I'm worrying if creamy is normal!? too much cheese (me eating it)

zcos · 25/01/2013 07:39

utopian there is a 5 week one but babies can start at 4 - think mine did ... she was a week late though cos it makes sense. check out wonder weeks website

those using reusable nappies can you give me some guidance I don't know where to start been researching since 7 months preg and still v confused! Are the all in one nappies - no separate liner any good? I keep thinking bout getting 1 or 2 to trial as they are so expensive to start off with. I am also thinking I would forget to wash and dh would end up binning or something. dh does a lot of changes when he is around.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/01/2013 07:51

Good article honey

Odd night last night, not sure Ethan ate much but he was at the boob quite a lot. Although they're not full. Hmm maybe his suck has got more effective when I wasn't paying attention.

Big kids off to their dads tonight. A weekend to concentrate on DH and ds2 without being a referee at the same time :)

2blessed · 25/01/2013 08:21

Great article honey.
Ds has been sleeping in his moses basket since approx 1.30. Better put some washing on and prepare for a mega feeding session.

ISpyPlumPie · 25/01/2013 08:39

Willyou - it's so frustrating isn't it? I feel sometimes that DH is so focused on work that he can't see all the other things that need doing, which is no excuse! I also share your fears that he could end up missing out on a lot, though tbf he is very hands on most of the time. It's just the times when we are having a moment of absolute chaos and he seems to be able to stride through it all that I think aargh!! We had a long chat following yogurt-gate earlier this week and fx it will get better.

Know I'm a bit late with this, but we did swimming classes (Waterbabies) with DS1 from when he was about 12 weeks. It was fine at first, but he really hated going under water which is central to their classes. Most of the others in the class loved it though and I think it would be a really nice thing to do if your LO enjoys it. We've since gone on to do more conventional swimming classes at the local pool which he enjoyed, so all is not lost for future swimming if they don't like/you don't do the baby classes.

Very good article.

stacey our HV said their efficiency at suckling improves a lot over time so eventually what took 30 mins to get out takes only 10?

O was 12 days late so gestationally (?) would that put him in week 5 now then, re wonder weeks?

zcos we use bumgenius nappies and little lambs nappies but we use motherease wraps with the little lambs, as I was getting leaks from the little lambs wraps. The bum genius are probably a bit less faff - very easy to stuff and all.one piece otherwise, but the little lambs are super absorbent and very soft. You can stick a disposable liner in them too to catch the worst..

O is lying beside me making amazing faces/noises which i think are poo related..

WillYouDoTheFandango · 25/01/2013 09:55

I'd just kill for one night off, but it seems pretty shit to ask for that when he gets 1 day off a week. He did do them all on saturday because I'd been up for 44 hours at that point.

Where did you do the classes Ispy? They do them at the school across the road from me (Marus Bridge). J loves water and tries to get under in the bath.

MaMaPo · 25/01/2013 10:07

Thanks for all the swimming info. There is a 10-week term for about £175, but I'll be away for 3 weeks of it so it doesn't seem worth it. They offer a free trial class - maybe I'll do that, see how she gets on, and if she enjoys it just go to the local pool with her. Much cheaper!

Feel rubbish today even though C slept from 11.45 to 3, to 6. We're having a dinner party tonight (casual) but are still making 3 courses, and I feel my husband hasn't really realised that perhaps we could have made it easier on ourselves. I have mentioned it and I think we'll do it differently next time. Doesn't help that it's on Friday night so not much time to prepare stuff.

Islas poos are still runny and we've had to switch to formula. They're not as often as when I was bf normally every 2 days now and the bottle has brought on savage colic and wind Hmm she won't latch on now and I've come on my period so guess my supply has gone.

This is my first so never been to swimming classes but seen lots of these water babies pictures and they do look amazing!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/01/2013 11:35

Thanks utopian I need to stop panicking really.

Bad morning this morning. Forgot the kids sports kits do had to do the school run twice. And since then there have been so many snags with work I've not been able to get on with anything at all that I can book hours to, so no money for today, just tying up loose ends so 3hrs work unpaid so far.

Hopefully meeting a friend at the pub after she finishes work (lunch supervisor) so that should lighten my mood.

Barbeasty · 25/01/2013 11:52

We do swimming lessons with DD and are booking up for A. You might find the council run pools do them for less. The only problem I found with that is they only offer them on week days until.children are 5, so useless if you work.

Just had the hv here for A's 6 week check. She seems completely unconcerned that he's dropped from the 50th to 25th centile in 3 weeks, after being born around the 70th. And it was chaotic, with DD wetting her pants because she wouldn't ask to use the toilet while the HV was here.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2013 12:45

I just had my hair done so don't look like I belong on Jeremy Kyle anymore Grin £85 though Shock

halesball · 25/01/2013 12:55

Fab article Honey, might make my nan read it haha. Well after slagging my DP off last night he has totally redeemed himself. He got up when H had finished feeding this morning, brought her downstairs and left me in bed. I woke up at 11:45 Grin its amazing what a good sleep can do i'm so much more calmSmile.

Is anyone with thrush finding the pain is getting worse? My right boob seems to be deteriorating despite treatment. I'm wondering if it gets worse before it gets better?

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2013 13:01

Hales it could be you need oral antibiotics (am I right in thinking you only have cream atm?). As it's Friday I would probably ring the drs and ask them as you don't want it getting worse over the weekend?

zcos · 25/01/2013 13:52

re wonderweeks why not try website you enter the due date for you Lo not their birth day it sends you an email to warn bout the leaps and change in behavior.

HoneyMumandSon · 25/01/2013 14:05

hales yup boob pain worse today. D's tongue also looks worse today Confused

HoneyMumandSon · 25/01/2013 14:07

But I had already got the oral anti-fungal treatment as he thought it was deeper. Like spotty says might be worth phoning the dr before the weekend.

ISpyPlumPie · 25/01/2013 14:51

Willyou - we went to Marus Bridge too. It's nice and warm for them in the water there isn't it? Sounds like J really enjoys it.

Spotty - Envy of haircut. Mine could definitely be mistaken for something off JK atm. Must get expressing this weekend if there's any hope of N taking a bottle and me doing anything about it.

Stacks · 25/01/2013 14:53

Whoever was asking about reusable nappies - I think I'm going to do this trial. They send you lots of nappy types, so you can see which one you like. Costs £10 plus postage, which is £5 from them to you, and whatever it costs you to send them back (I'm guessing about another £5 through someone like MyHernes courier). Also check out your council, lots of them do incentives, either refunds or trials.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2013 15:16

ISpy I'm lucky because my friend owns a salon and I would definitely be in trouble with all the girls if I didn't bring ds with me!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/01/2013 16:05

Lovely afternoon in the pub with my friend. Ethan only had a few squeaks mainly because I removed him from the boob at the end of the feed. I should know better than to think my nipple is not a dummy! She was completely taken with him which is nice to see. I wasn't brave enough to have a glass of wine, I think that one should be trialed in my own home when I don't have to walk 2miles home along icy pavements!

Clarella · 25/01/2013 16:16

praise the lord. he's slept for 2 hours and I've slept too!!! hoorah!
hmmm do I wake now......!!!!????!!!

I should tidy but so bloody tired I just wantto mooch!
