The answer to the sleeping though question was a chorus of "no"s but there were a few resounding yesses and a lot more keeping quiet because the rest of us would be well jel.

Fab word use chat!

Right, p is bedded down in her own room for the first time. She is also in a sleeping bag for the first time. I am lying on my bed next door. Fingers crossed she sleeps ok fr her nap. I am seriously thinking she needs to be in her own room. She is a wonderful sleeper - I am not. 4am waking every single morning.

BigPigLittlePig · 18/01/2013 09:23

Not a bad night ? piglet (that is her actual nickname) slept in our bed quite well, which is a good job as it?s bloody freezing. Our house is also 15 degrees, although probably because I?m a bit stingy with the heating. Still, I kept the electric blanket on all night so at least it?s warm getting back into bed.

madam I?m with you on Bristol Ikea Smile, so you?re not alone!

detective I saw an advert for home tutoring the other day, and was going to give them a ring and offer my services ? but I?m not sure re: how legit that it whilst on maternity pay. Would also love to be able to do locum work as that?s the easiest way to earn a shedload bit of extra cash.

Finally picked up the ranitidine for little pig yesterday, worlds smallest bottle which is going to last 5 days max, and they haven?t given me a syringe so couldn?t give her any. Shame as last night there was epic vomming so she could have done with it. Have dispatched DH to get a syringe?

Hi can I sneak in and be a late joiner? I'm on the wibbly tummy thread. DS is 13 weeks old, born 18th October but was due November 1st.

He's had horrendous colic and was diagnosed with reflux, which I am using infant gaviscon for. I think he is finally coming to the end of his colic, he only had one screaming episode this week, woohoo!

Ok, I better get back to the beginning and try to catch up!

PetiteRaleuse · 18/01/2013 09:42

Welcome Tiger yours is a day older than mine. Happy three months birthday to your LO

Catbag · 18/01/2013 09:42

Hey Tiger, come make yourself comfortable in the quiche Grin

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 18/01/2013 09:47

Welcome tiger Smile

Catbag · 18/01/2013 10:18

Received all the stuff petite, thank you :)

Passmethecrisps · 18/01/2013 10:21

Hmm. She is still asleep! Normal day sleeps are max 30 mins

ChunkyChicken · 18/01/2013 10:26

Hi Tiger.

I too was going to make stunt's coordinated IKEA meet, but she beat me to it.

But sod it, if its Lakeside, we could visit the new Kiddicare shop!!! Apparently the feeding room there is brilliant!!

Eliza fc for today.

My Chunky chick is almost touching both ends of the Moses basket. DH needs to get his act together, so I can use the cot.

evil agree with everyone. If you're looking for a reason to 'justify' leaving, it suggests you're not happy and want to leave - mentally you've already started packing your bags IMO. I would have found it v hard to forgive his previous comments and knowing how difficult it has been with my DH, in that situation, I would have felt that was the final straw.

Anyone else get hungry with all the talk of quiche??!! Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 18/01/2013 10:28

OK I'm not boasting here. LO slept from 9pm to almost 7am. Woke up, fed too fast, my fault, puked, drank another ounce, fell asleep. Woke up at 11 and has drunk only 3 oz and fallen back asleep. Growth spurt knackeredness? She was smiley when she was awak and doesn't seem ill. Yesterday ate like a pig. I don't need to worry do I?

CandyPop · 18/01/2013 10:31

Snowing here too! Just started an hour ago and it's settling already ! Housebound today I guess !!

BigPigLittlePig · 18/01/2013 10:36

PR two 10 hour sleep marathons in one week?! I'd be hanging out the flags and throwing a party actually I'd probably just sleep myself If she's happy in herself, she sounds fine, just giving her poor mummy a well earned break perhaps?

We have snow Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 18/01/2013 10:41

BigPig erm, three actually. Tuesday was the first ten hour session but she did the same Wednesday and Thursday. I just kept quiet yesterday. But yesterday she was really alert and hungry and today she's just knackered. Well we're off out in the snow in a few mins to pick up DD1. Going outside will wake her up.

Passmethecrisps · 18/01/2013 10:51

I cracked and woke p up. She woke with a wee smile!

horseylady · 18/01/2013 10:51

Detective -nhs says no youcant work elsewhere if claiming maternity pay. Not sure why!! Will look into it!!

Of course there's always cash in hand.....cleaning jibs etc.

GTbaby · 18/01/2013 10:52

I bought a quiche the other day Wink

BigPigLittlePig · 18/01/2013 10:54

PR Envy swap??

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 18/01/2013 10:56

Wow I find it really hard to keep up!

Someone asked who else was Scottish, I am, doubt I'd make an Edinburgh meet up though.

We had a good night with DS last night. He's just over 11weeks and randomly slept through last night from 11-7. I'm wondering when to start a bedtime type routine and put him upstairs. He is in a crib in our room but currently stays downstairs til I go to bed. What do you all do?

Welcomes to the newbies, hope you all keep up better than I can!

kirrinIsland · 18/01/2013 11:27

I think you can lose your smp if you work elsewhere whilst on mat leave. In my contract (police ) i can do 15 keep in touch days without loosing it .

PetiteRaleuse · 18/01/2013 12:00

Wide awake and troughing now.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 18/01/2013 12:21

Good night here too, B slept from 10pm-5.45am. Bad evening though, she wouldn't settle between 7pm-10pm, I fed her in the end at 9 and then she screamed from an hour.

Izzy, I usually put B in her carrycot in her own room at bedtime, around 7.30pm. We moved her into her own room at 5 weeks as nobody was getting any sleep with all of the snuffling. I do have the monitor next to my ear though.

detective- I think you could make a good living making up real life stories and sending them to trashy mags. Your writing style is witty and very readable.

FatimaLovesBread · 18/01/2013 12:37

Right any thrush sufferers about?

The GP yesterday prescribed Nystan drops for M and Daktarin Gel for me. I think his thinking was that Daktarin cream would need to be washed off.
Since getting them I've googled and it says that the gel won't work on nipples only in the mouth, so that's pointless then.
I've got some clotrimazole cream from last time which I didn't get mcj chance to use with Ms constant feeding so I'm going to use that.
Would you use the Gel on M seeing as I've got it? It's supposed to be four months up due to choking hazards but it seems it's more effective than the drops.
Also, can you buy Daktarin Cream over the counter? It's seems that might be better than clotrimazole cream.

Sorry I'm rambling there a bit

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 18/01/2013 12:44

fatima we both had thrush. I was initially prescribed clotrimazole cream for my nipples and J's bottom and nystatin drops. When the infant feeding specialist heard she changed my cream to daktarin and said as its only a smear you are supposed to use then it was safe not to wipe off. Just apply the smear after a feed, which was blooming tricky when he was feeding near constantly. We also had to have fluconazole with a 150mg starting dose then 10days of 50mg. That eventually cleared it for us!!

BigPigLittlePig · 18/01/2013 12:51

Something horrid has happened. Little pig has projectiled vomited on my FACE. Tell me I'm not the only one who has endured this? It takes a mothers love to forgive that!

Passmethecrisps · 18/01/2013 12:52

We were given daktarin gel for P. her thrush cleared up within 2 days of using it.
