Stunt - I got stung too over the summer!!! I was shocked they'd put a limit on it tbh. Hope your dog is ok :(

Tits - I get the little smile too when he cries after I've just put him down and go to pick him up again!! Yesterday he was crying on dh, looking at me. That's just mean!!

Catbag · 15/01/2013 09:02

pass If you haven't had the six week check yet, has your LO not had their immunisations either? You should definitely chase that one up. I took for granted the fact that my local surgery would contact me re 6 week check, which they did; I did not realise that was unusual!

PetiteRaleuse · 15/01/2013 09:07

Stunt I hope your dog is OK.

I did something stupid. Put some bread out for the birds as I do every winter when it snows. This is the first winter my cats havebeen outdoor cats.

I really didn't think that through. Birds lined up on tree outside with cats staring them out. Hope catsget bored and come in soon.

Passmethecrisps · 15/01/2013 09:08

She has had hers catbag. That appointment was booked for me. Weird how they book one and not the other.

katkit1 · 15/01/2013 09:08

Agreed re contacting the surgery to remind them of 6 week check for both of you. Dr diagnosed a hernia at my 6 week check - talks of having a mesh put in there - yuck. We're having our jabs today at 1.45 - hope Alex won't notice.

No present here but I didn't expect one. Wouldn't have objected to an inexpensive necklace or something but it would have been silly to spend money we don't have.

Candy I had totally forgotten but in the midst of the worst bit of sleep deprivation, DH went through a phase of leaping out of bed and saying, "sorry, yes, what am I doing?" during the night, usually when I was feeding. He kept dreaming that he had fallen asleep mid-sentence (not unusual) and I needed him for something. The speed of the leaping and his confusion was always quite comedy.

Those transferring, I do find it helps if DS isn't quite asleep when he goes in his cot. Then I let him hold my finger or put my hand on his head for a bit. In the early days this didn't work at all so sorry if you've tried it. But one night he just got it and things have been so much better.

Postage and Paypal fees is what has put me off selling anything on Ebay of late. That and the trauma of trying to get the item parcelled up and taken to the local Post Office where I will have to stand for half an hour with two squeaking babies while the kiosk staff gossip with the customers. I find selling on the local Facebook sites a LOT less stressful and less fatal to any kind of potential profit that can be made from selling tonnes of stuff for 99p although living six miles away from where the group is actually located reduces the amount of interest I get as a lot of the Army wives can't be arsed don't drive and want you to deliver instead.

katkit1 · 15/01/2013 09:11

X post pass, slow one finger typing here

Catbag · 15/01/2013 09:14

pass That is odd. My appointment was bundled in with their first immunisations and 8 week check up. I suppose it makes sense, but it did mean that they did not have their jabs untiln9 weeks as they just did not have a long enough slot to check all three of us. That said, they did not really check me. I was expecting the GP to want to have a look at the CS scar etc, but she didn't. Just asked me how I was feeling [hmmm]

Catbag · 15/01/2013 09:15

Or Hmm, rather :)

Catbag · 15/01/2013 09:17

kitkat My sympathies, lol. I am leaning over feeding babies' heads and 2 finger typing Grin

katkit1 · 15/01/2013 09:17

Me and Alex had a double appointment. Dr had a look at my scar as well as my funny tummy.

katkit1 · 15/01/2013 09:19

I can only imagine what it's like to feed 2 my goodness and type

horseylady · 15/01/2013 09:20

Pass my 6 week check (at 9 weeks with his jabs!!) consisted of are you ok and I'll write you a prescription for the pill. I was more worried about his checks and jabs I forgot to mention my bruised feeling!

Catbag · 15/01/2013 09:21

Don't get me wrong, I would rather that no one, including me and DH, ever had to look at the CS scar, it is just that I have never had major abdominal surgery before and so am kind of inexperienced with knowing what is right or not, lol

Sophiathesnowfairy · 15/01/2013 09:21

What a night catbag you should have two cups of teas and a chocolate biscuit.

Well, of course since I decided to relax and be pleased about the 11-6 sleepy thing, the bugger decided to wake at 4:45. That will teach me. Slap.

4oz straight back down no eye contact no lights. It's sleep time.

He hadn't had all his 10:30 feed. I will know better tonight.

Not preggers are you pass? Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 15/01/2013 09:23

Anyone thinking ahead to summer? We're going to come back to the UK for a couple of weeks. Long drive via the tunnel with the dog but DD1 will beable to het to know her English family a little better and I'll be able to eat lots of fish and chips. I've been craving chip shop chips.

Catbag · 15/01/2013 09:27

kitkat Actually easier than trying to feed one :) They are on a feeding cushion in a rugby hold, so boobs rest on the pillow too and they tuck their 'inside' arms in between the boobs so as the keep them next to their faces. They do it naturally and actually I think it is quite clever. Means both of my hands free, but I cannot hold my hands in a normal typing position as I am leaning over them to see the tablet. Also, haptic feedback just isn't the same as feeling the keys depress and so my level of typographical would increase dramatically Grin

Catbag · 15/01/2013 09:28

Ffs, typographical ERROR* Grin

katkit1 · 15/01/2013 09:33

Catbag - the positioning sounds perfect for 2 babies but I still take my hat off to you. I get to rest a boob between feeds but you're using both every time - big hats off.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 15/01/2013 09:33

They don't give the mother a 6 week check here, only the baby. I've had to book a separate appointment for contraception which is in 2 weeks!

My DH has stopped rousing when B wakes, mainly because we moved her into her own room next door and I have the monitor on next to my ear, so he doesn't usually hear her. In the early weeks he would jump out of bed, confused, talking gibberish. I leave him to sleep as I'm BF so there's little he can do. He does get Dd1 up, gives her breakfast and gets her ready for school though, so I can sleep a bit longer. He also cooks and does a lot of housework so I'm happy with that.

Passmethecrisps · 15/01/2013 09:44

sophia don't even think it! We have only DTD once. I know DH fancies another but not quite yet!!

MissMummy1 · 15/01/2013 09:58

DH has been offered a job in Liverpool. I don't know what to think. It's a 15k payrise so seems daft to ignore it.Hmm I am not moving so he would have to stay down there. It will be the same as him being properly offshore again - 4wks on / 4wks off. Confused Before M he would have jumped at it but now he's dragging his heels I'm secretly chuffed he doesnt want to be away from us for so long

Last night with M wasnt as horrific as I expected it to be. Not great, but nowhere near as bad as Sunday night. (ie we got 3 hours sleep altogether Smile )

Sophiathesnowfairy · 15/01/2013 09:59

Ha ha pass!!

catbag you deserve to be honoured I couldn't even feed one. No excuses. Just can't do it. You are legend. Thanks

Brockle · 15/01/2013 10:03

Morning!

Tech question: just adopted a HTC android phone. Is there an app for posting on here or do I just need to go through the website as usual?

As I BF I leave DH to it, altho he is the port of call for DS1 and DS2 and I do sometimes need to wake him when they stroll in. It depends on how tired he is as to whether he wakes automatically or not. Its odd tho, even if he is up in the night he can get up really easy but feel exhausted all day. I am terrible at getting up in the morning but after thirty minutes I can function fine. Is this a male/femaile thing?

Y is in up to 3 months Next babygros and they have never looked huge. He is seven weeks but I don't think they will last to 3 months.

Work is on my mind too detective as not sure I can afford to go beyond six months on mat leave. Work gave us a pay rise and extended our hours by 30 minutes until 5.30pm. Sounds stupid but that will make the difference between me getting home at six and getting home at seven. I am hoping I can negotiate an hours reduction but wish they would offer me redundancy instead.
