Oh & hi rubes effie & lady.

Eff acting up sounds good, you looking forward to it?

Rubes the aim is brisvegas but it will depend on where dh gets a job.

beans37 · 28/03/2013 20:17

H no, Vag! Your poor hamster. Did you know that men called Andrew are the least likely to get married? i know there are a couple of Andrew wives/partners on here, but I read it the other day and it tickled me as my DSis's dreadful husband is called andrew!

There's an awful lot of us with absentee husbands at the moment. Is there something in the air? It's been 6 months here now and I'm done!

Chilli keeps eating her own shit. It makes giving her affection really unappealing and I really don't want the girls stroking her as she licks. Rancid.

Vag, we're planning on getting new fish soon and DS1 wants to call one Alexander and one Derek. Apparently those are great fish names. Strand boy.

McKayz · 28/03/2013 20:29

Strange. Not strand.

Vagolajahooli · 28/03/2013 22:01

Kayz I think they are fine names for fish :-) . Beans what are you saying, my hamster is some sort of commitment-phobe, I think if anything is going to stop him marrying it's the fact that he won't get a chance to meet any hamster-ettes.

McKayz · 29/03/2013 06:41

What is the point of sleep? DD has been awake and feeding loads probably due to the long sleep in the car. Then about 5 DS1 came to our room. He's not very well and is really hot to touch. So DH had to go out at 6 to buy calpol as we forgot it.

Indith · 29/03/2013 15:21

There is no point to sleep. Or so ds1 assures me. He was complaining yesterday that he doesn't like sleeping because he can't do fun things while he is asleep.

Hello.

I have done paperwork, been talked at and had my uniform fitted. Now I need to rescue my house that looks like it has had a few bombs gone off, some robbers trashing it and several packs of biscuits stamped over the floors and do a load of reading before I start actually learning stuff on Tuesday.

If I'm a good girl and get things done I shall do one of those proper catch up things.

Vagolajahooli · 30/03/2013 08:17

Wow indith that's exciting. We'll be study buddies soon. I've got my first assignment due on the 7 th. I'm pretty close to being finished the rough copy. But it will need a lot of tidying up & I think I'm going to have trouble with the word limit.

Artichook · 31/03/2013 15:38

It's Easter Day and I'm on labour triage ward because the baby isn't moving :-( never had this before. They wouldn't let DH in as we had the girls with us and kids aren't allowed in here. Their Easter Day now consists of waiting in a hospital coffee shop while I wait to be seen up here :-(. All a bit sad. At least we had a lovely morning with chocolate eggs and baking of muffins and friends for brunch. There is something about this pregnancy which never keys me relax.

JumpChoccy · 31/03/2013 15:42

Arti darling sending you lots of "getting seen quickly" vibes, hope baby's just having a little rest and everything will be back to normal soon. Have you been scanned, or is that what the wait is for?

Indith · 31/03/2013 15:45

Fingers crossed Arti, hopefully as soon as they hook you up to the monitor he will start tap dancing.

Artichook · 31/03/2013 15:50

Thanks Jump & Indith. I don't think they are going to scan, just put me on a monitor. Still waiting but they did test my wee which has protein in it which isn't great. This is not the hospital I was at with the girls and its really weird: tiny labour ward with no seperate day unit so I'm next to a woman who is 8cm, I feel so sorry for her as she can see that I can hear everything, all her exams etc.

Indith · 31/03/2013 16:04

Wishing lots of healthy thoughts your way Arti. If you are on the monitor I assume they have found heartbeat etc? So that must be a relief. You are in the right place x

Vagolaeggooli · 31/03/2013 18:34

Crikey Arti thats eggsasperating (sorry couldn't help that one). I assume the monitor was fine, bit of a bugger about the protein though. I know you have been anxious about this bubby & having been thinking of your options for the birth, I wander if that decision will be taken out of your hands. Though I kind of hope not,I hate to think of you with pre-eclampsia. Thinking of you & hoping the protein settles down.

Vagolaeggooli · 31/03/2013 18:44

Crikey just reread your post she is 8cm & just on the normal ward area, is that usual proceedure. Blimey I think I was very lucky. I would not have handled being around other people at that time, I'm a bit shy at the best of times. Oh and need me pool. I don't know how you girls do it in hospital, you are way better than this princess.

sybilfaulty · 31/03/2013 18:46

Thinking of you Arti and hoping you get reassurance soon.

Indith · 31/03/2013 19:20

Hope all is well Arti.

Vag I felt the same as you when I read about that poor lady at 8cm. I can't cope with the idea of giving birth in hospital, completely freaks me out. I like my home and my privacy.

Lovely day today with village stuff going on, lots of chocolate and a lovely dinner. Dh felt that dinner was lacking in pudding so having poured tired children into bed at normal bedtime in spite of the clocks having changed he is making eclairs while I feed limpet Grin.

Rubena · 31/03/2013 19:32

Hope alls well Arti. I'm sure he's just a bit squished and running out o room.
Feel the same re the 8cm lady. Except I couldn't handle it if I wasn't in an operating theatre.
Still struck down with awful flu. Better be feeling humane tomorrow.

Artichook · 31/03/2013 20:32

Thanks for all the well wishes. I am home now. Baby's heart trace was fine although he's still quite still. Apparently he is breech and extraordinarily they say he feels a little small, which seems unlikely as DD1 was 9lbs 4oz and DD2 was 10lbs 2oz. I have to go in again later in the week to check protein.

Poor 8cm lady was indeed in a public room while in advanced labour. Things got worse for her when they realised the baby's head was not engaged and was to the side and they freaked out that if her waters went her cord would prolapse. They wanted to give her an epidural and break her waters in theatre incase the cord prolapsed but she couldn't have an epi due to some blood disorder so I think she was heading for a general and c section. The horrendous thing is I know all these private details as they were told as she lay right near me. It put me right off the hospital tbh, teaches me for choosing a new hospital just because its by nice cages and food shops!!!

Artichook · 31/03/2013 20:34

Cafes not cages!!!

Indith · 31/03/2013 20:55

They could have cages to pen unwanted visitors Grin. Glad you are home and being kept an eye on.

Limpet is being fussy. Very fussy. And shouting at dh if he dares to try to give me a break. We are now spending our evening watching the bloody tomliboos.

JumpChoccy · 01/04/2013 09:39

Great news Arti :)

beans37 · 01/04/2013 11:49

Oh Arti, am so glad all was ok. Keep us updated as you're monitored. I have started being really itchy all over in the last couple of days. It's almost unbearable!

Rubes, do you remember our raven maternity tops with flappy wings? I have rediscovered mine and am wearing it today! Lovely. Indication of how big I am. Last time I didn't wear it til I was 5 months!

Had a lovely Easter with DH's sister and family, then yesterday lunch with my aunt and uncle, followed by a visit to my Granny, who is in a home with dementia. She's 95 and so lovely. We just waffled nonsense at each other. Was rather nice.

Off out for lunch.

Must away x

Glad it was ok Arti.

Cornwall is gorgeous. It's been sunny, windy so it's chilly but we don't care. I'd love to move down here. I am missing the phone signal though.

Hope you all had nice Easters and are ok.

Vagolaeggooli · 02/04/2013 19:16

Nice cages made me nearly spit my tea out Arti. That poor women, DS1's head was cocked to one side, which I think might be why his shoulders got a bit stuck. But his head was engaged so a different story, just took a bit longer and meant his head looked really super weird when it came out. Gosh that poor lady, this sounds a bit crappy but Arti would you consider making a complaint. Believe me the midwives would be grateful, things don't change unless enough people complain. You could relate it to yourself by saying it has made you very anxious about giving birth & you could go on about confidentiality as well. You can contact the PALS office. Unfortunately staff can complain until they are blue but only patient's complaints matter.

Glad you're having a nice time Kayz.
