Arti, I can only sympathise. What a nightmare. Is it something she may grow out of?

Hons, I'm envious of your first grey hair. I've had them for about 10 years. Now I have a patch of white pubes as well. Joy. Not to mention my chin hairs coming through white instead of black now. In someways a blessing!! But still spikey.

So, DH's project will end after first week of March. He will have been home before 10pm about 10 times in 6 months by then. And he may have to work every weekend til then. What a treat. And the girls are up twice a night each at the moment. 8 weeks preggers = exhaustion. Thinking about paying my lovely teenage sitter to come for last two hours a day twice a week, to do witching hours for me. Twenty quid a week well spent I reckon!

Girls beyond tired this evening. I've plonked them down in front of The BFG and silence reigns!

For people who've been up the duff three times, did you find your clothes very tight much earlier? I'm struggling to do up even my loose jeans! Ming!

Sounds like a good £20 spend to me Beans, do it!

And yes to clothes, sorry. Poor tummy muscles.

JamInMyWellies · 05/02/2013 17:43

Aah Beans we are in the same boat. DH just told me he is continuing in the same project doing the rest of the migration so his 7 days a wk will continue for ???? We need to start an absent husbands group and start getting together with the children on a weekend.

Arti total bummer about DD2, I cant remember her having this before is it a new thing? I remember her having problems with tomato based products. [brain like a sieve]

Hons meant To say the other day. I used to look after a incredibly ginger haired child it was beautiful. People used to say to him what lovely red/auburn hair he had and he would get most indignant and shout at them its not red its ORANGE!

Indith how is DD1?

Invis how lovely to have a trip to see rellies.

Rubes how did DH get on?

Sybs how is your DD now. Little girls can be such hurtful bitches sometimes. Sadly it seems to continue throughout life. There is always a small contingent of woman who think its ok to be nasty. I much prefer the boys way of doing things fall out, thump each other then friends again.

Still full of snot here, very bored of Winter now need some sun and warmth.

Right bath/bedtime. Got to get the monsters in bed before the sitter turns up so I can go to the gym and sweat for an hr.

beans37 · 05/02/2013 18:04

Jam, I'm on for that. We're not too far apart either. Let's do it baby!

Abney and Teal. I don't understand it. Am putting DDs to bed early tonight.

Quick advice needed:DD1 is weeping and wailing with a hot, itchy fanny. I've tried sudacrem to no avail. Any tips?

OP posts:
Indith · 05/02/2013 21:11

Poor girl, do you think it might be thrush?

If you have any canestan then it won't do any harm even if it isn't thrush or yoghurt will be nice and cooling and good for thrush but won't do harm if not.

beans37 · 05/02/2013 21:15

Bugger, I haven't got canesten or plain yoghurt, only their fromage frais!!

OP posts:
beans37 · 05/02/2013 21:16

Thank you though! V kind of you to get back so fast xxx

OP posts:
JamInMyWellies · 05/02/2013 21:16

Put her in a tepid bath. Then canesten. Poor thing.

Indith · 05/02/2013 21:21

Hmmm not sure fromage frais would have the same effect!

Any neighbours who could help?

Artigene · 05/02/2013 21:39

My DDs get this sometimes. I second the idea of a tepid bath with no soap etc. then lie her on a towel with a cold flannel to put over it. Squeeze cool water over it occassionally. It's horrid. Mine get it less now I never use bubble bath or soap in the bath.

Indith · 06/02/2013 08:39

Hope you managed to soothe dd last night beans.

Urgh. I am knackered. The knackeredest of the knackered. Ds2 is mental at night waking every hour to practice his standing Hmm. He wakes, screams if dh goes to him so comes to me, feeds a bit (beign hurty and horrible with the latch due to new tooth he isn't used to yet) but won't feed to sleep so fusses and then screams again and goes back to dh who is now permitted to settle him fairly rapidly. Couple it with being headachey and sore throaty form the cold I've been nursing for a while and you get a haggard old fish wife.

Dd is sooo much better. We managed to come to an agreement about medicine, it works once you actually get it down the child! She has 2 small spoonfuls instead of one big one and has a mini egg after each spoon Grin. She still hasn't managed a day without an afternoon nap though so I've not dared try getting her to walk the school run, which is making ds1 sulk as he tends to prefer walking to car. She didn't want to go to nursery this morning, said she was too tired. She's gone but for the first time EVER since she started there in Sept she was reluctant to go into the room :(. Sure she'll be fine once with her best friend.

Urgh I need a shower. Time to stick the playpen in front of the TV to let beebies work its magic on the baby while I wash my hair!

beans37 · 06/02/2013 12:30

Hello. Our house still has an 80s bidet in it so after I'd given her a tepid bath at 9ish, when DH got home at midnihht she was still wailing, so he gave her a bidet. Seemed to do the trick. Called home fr school today and beem to doctor. Mild infection, so I've got cream. Thanks for all tips, so much! Cold flannel worked too. You are v kind.

Beans how is she today?

JamInMyWellies · 06/02/2013 12:46

cross post, glad she is a bit better.

Indith · 06/02/2013 13:34

Oh good :)

beans37 · 06/02/2013 18:58

Hi all
Despite missing out on four hours of her normal sleep last night, DD1 is on corking form in the bath! We have canesten from doctor too. I am popping it on tonight, although she's sHowing no sign of itching at all.

Got lovely NCT friend and two kids coming to stay on Friday. DD1 so excited as her DD was her best best friend in London. Speaking of red hair, she is called Red Gracie because of her hair colour, and it is the most delicious shade of rich mahogany red, as well as her Mum's. titian. I would LOVE hair that colour! I also used to have a soft spot for ginger haired men. Something about their lovely skin.

God, I'm so fat! I can't stop eating to combat nausea and have to get into a cozzie in a few weeks. Dreading it. Ordered a tummy control one from M&S. tried it on today and I look about 60. Strangely, a bikini looked better, but have sworn forever off bikinis due to stretch marks. Think I need to find a really good cozzie. Any suggestions?

McKayz · 06/02/2013 20:18

Beans, glad she's better today.

I've been to doctors today about my crap knees and he thinks its early arthritis Sad but I'm still too young for them to formally diagnose it.

ShadyLadyT · 06/02/2013 22:15

Oh Kayz, that sounds painful. If you don't want to take a lot of anti-inflammatory drugs there are foods that have an anti-inflammatory effect (just google them).

So, I didn't get on here at the weekend after all. Because DP is so busy with this trial, weekends seem to be busy too or else he wants us all to do stuff. Anyway, I've been in Paris with the girls since yest - home tomorrow. £28.50 tickets - not bad, eh? I'm catching up on my 40th trips. I must say I feel very footsore - Louvre for most of the day. Girls are pretty good considering, though DD2 was very very hard work yest...but I can't get too annoyed, she's only 2 and a bit, after all. I'm pleased with the hotel, given how cheap it was for Paris (about £60 a night). Central enough, and it seems like everything in the room is brand new. I do cringe to read the reviews on Trip Advisor etc, most people seem to think it's dodgy simply because there are a lot of black people in this area. Errr...yes there are, and very polite they are too. Anyway, the room is of course miniscule but I would stay here again like a shot. The girls and I are in two singles pushed together. I wonder if they will remember these funny times. DD1 says such grown up things sometimes...

I haven't been keeping up too well but Arti, if it's not too much trouble we would love to have a few days at yours if you go away. I just worry about it being a hassle for you.

Sybs, so very sorry DD1 has been suffering at the hands of other girls. Lacerating for you and for her. I have seen it so much with friends with older girls, I utterly dread all that.

Rubes, I hope you and DH are ok. This whole exam thing is too too stressful.

Beans - less of the 80s bidet Grin We had one put in! I wasn't arsed at first (forgive the pun) but now I am a convert and they are great for stinky bummed kids who are constantly getting sore from not wiping properly (my DD1).

It's DH's birthday today and it was smashing to raise a glass to him today in gay Paree. We always used to have a minibreak for his birthday so it's lovely to have sort of done that this year.

I hope all this posts. Indith, my phonics moaning will have to wait Grin

beans37 · 06/02/2013 22:15

Oh Kayz, that's no fun. Poor you x

DS1 threw up earlier. I hate cleaning up sick, makes me want to throw up. He's got to have the rest of the week off.

Vagolajahooli · 08/02/2013 09:37

Good morning, where is everyone? Kayz how is DS1? Sorry to hear about your knees.

Lady Paris sounds lovely. You probably didn't have time but L'orangerie at the tulleries is amazing with it's Monet's & is quite good for kids because it is a lot smaller than the Louvre. Ds1 loved it & was reverentially silent in the two oval Monet rooms & luckily ds2 was asleep.

Arti how are you, how are your ankles?

Beans poor little baby bean and her ladygarden. Is the itch gone? I think baby panda had something like that.

Hello Spot. How long now until the interview? Any more sleep? How is DP after his illness?

Rubes any more word on how DH did in the exams. I've always felt sorry for the doctors and their endless work & study. There is a perception that once they get to be consultants they sit back & get everyone else to do all the work. I think the only difference is their workplace is more stable, that's about it. They study less but that time is then taken up with meetings, meetings & more meetings.

Trip to London was quick but useful. Met with a lovely estate agent who I am confident will manage the place well. We have to wait for approval from the bank so that's a bit nerve racking but after that we can give the go ahead for the real estate to get in some people to spruce the place up a bit, redo our floors and give it a good scrub. I was shocked at how filthy the house is, I don't think the tenants have cleaned it since the nice couple who had lived with them moved out a year ago. The white kitchen cupboards were yellow from cooking oil & the bathroom was just grose. But thankfully the estate agent saw through the filth & sees the potential & was quite excited about having a 3 bed in that area. They were very honest about the chances of rental etc & really professional. Not sure if it was that they were female (2 ladies came to have a look as one is pregnant they will share the management) but there was a lot less of the bravado and cockiness of other agents I've had to deal with. Also one was a long term London living Aussie, so we bonded. Although her partner is a Saffa.

I did have a bit of a wobble while over there as with taking money out to buy the derby place & to pay for the major works at the London place we still only own about 25% of the property, with that small amount we are at the banks mercy with the buy to let loan approval & can't remortgage with someone else as we are overseas so seen as a greater risk. I was thinking I need Lady to tell me it's a good thing to have these properties & the money will come one day. The derby place is on a longterm rental but we have to top up all the time. Aahh, I should be grateful that these are stresses, whetger our 2nd & 3rd homes are viable, I probably sound like a spoilt brat, but we currently live in a New tiny house so that we can keep all this going, yoi know trying not to live above our means whereas if we took the combined cost of all the houses we could have one lovely big house which wouldn't attract any capital gains tax when we sell.

Right that was a boring paragragh, must go gotta pick the boys up soon. They each have a friend coming back after school today so it's gonna be hectic. But then I'm dropping them with other friends tonight for a sleep over and dh & I are spending the night in Amsterdam for a gig. The cost of not having to get a babysitter has payed for a nights accommodation. Nice.

Vagolajahooli · 08/02/2013 09:42

Indith sorry forgot you, anymore sleep?

& Hons how are you?

DB I was talking to DH about your DS last night telling him how light he is to our DS2's dark. Ds2 now has a little friend at school who is just like DBDS, but rather than being a bundle of fun he's a bit...well...ok the only way I can describe him is a bit of a stoner. He looks half asleep all the time and has none of the energy of the other boys in the group. I'm not sure why ds2 has taken up with him as he tends to bash about with the other boys in the class, I think it's because he started around the same time and his brother is a friend of ds1's.

McKayz · 08/02/2013 09:55

DS1 is fine Vag, thanks. Just sick that once and has been absolutely fine since.

Honsandrevels · 08/02/2013 19:36

Hello everyone,

Kayz dd1 did exactly the same last week. One vomit and that was it. Odd I thought.

My two have been exhausting today. I made a fish pie. I can't bear fish and had to remove the skin which was horrible. I shouldn't have bothered as of course neither of them ate it. dd1 didn't even try it. Dd2 got to a vase of flowers and pulled all the heads off. Everything has involved whining and I've been trying to remain cheerful in the face of it all.

I'm glad it is the weekend!

Oh and I went to get dd2 in the night, checked the time 6am. Brought her into the bed where she thrashed about. Laid awake and started to wonder why the heating hadn't come on, rechecked the time 1am! So annoying. Put dd2 back tp bed!
