Seconds, I don't. It seems his nose is clear it's more at the back?

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone! Did anyone actually do anything? I fell asleep but woke up again in time to watch the fireworks on tv, hardcore!

I spent all of yday afternoon in the children's hospital waiting to see to a paediatrician. I took DS to see the GP and she sent us straight to the hospital. His rash hasn't improved despite our best efforts and he's in so much pain. He's got huge patches of raw and broken skin, he cries real tears when I change him. Sad Anyway we've got oral drops and all sorts of creams now and it looks a bit better today. I need to religiously treat my nipples for thrush too even though they feel fine.

I need to buy more clothes, I feel like I've got nothing that fits and I can easily feed in!

yuletopian99 · 01/01/2013 03:47

Happy New Year all!

pidj here's to a better one, with fewer b*&?@rd employers amongst other things, and good wishes to your dp.

Oz has been feeding since 5pm, with max 20min breaks and still quite a lot of hurl, so now I'm worried why? Also he'll feed till he falls asleep but won't stay that way if he's moved to his bed/pram (downstairs,) had my first weepy 'will we ever get time to ourselves' moment with Dh. Even just to cuddle each other would make me so happy..

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 01/01/2013 04:05

I know that one, utopian, haven't had a proper snuggle in weeks!

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 01/01/2013 04:07

PS is it normal for feeds to take an hour? Or am I doing something wrong?

Happy new year everyone! Well it's my birthday today and Ethan let me sleep For a whole 3 hours in a row! Grin great birthday present! We woke dd and ds1 up for the fireworks at midnight. Dd was so happy to come watch. Ds say up, wiped his eyes and just said 'no I don't think so' and went back to sleep Grin so funny!

pidj we take between 45-60 minutes most feeds. I thought maybe we were doing it wrong (as other dcs were ff and they ate a lot quicker) but I think it's normal for bf babies!

NettletonMummy · 01/01/2013 04:26

Hello! I'm checking in - dd was born on 7th Dec, but am new to mumsnet.. Great way to pass long hours feeding the baby in the middle of the night. Happy New Year to all. Stayed up to watch the fireworks but regretting it now as dd has slept only 1 hour since midnight. Is this the three week growth spurt? It's exhausting!

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 01/01/2013 04:28

Happy birthday Stacey! Wine

We started this feed at 3 although it probably would have helped if I'd done his nappy first. My god, disposables stink! My fluff wasn't dry in time to bring so I'm on the pampers, baby wee doesn't honk too bad until you mix it with whatever they use to suck blue liquid Shock

EggNogMichelle · 01/01/2013 05:16

Happy birthday Stacey! We seem to be alternating having good/bad nights, tonight we finished feeding at 01.15 (I let Felix stay up for the new year!) and he has just woken up now! Normally I would finish this feed and decide to get up, but think ill have a nice lay in instead. It's especially nice as I'm at the in laws tonight and we haven't disturbed anyone with screaming!

ellliebelle · 01/01/2013 05:31

Happy new year everyone i have been lurking and keeping up to date but not finding much time to post.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/01/2013 07:23

Ds has proper snot and was just sick a mixture of milk and phlegm Sad

yuletopian99 · 01/01/2013 08:35

pidj we're aiming to cloth bum but have been in disposables for the first 5 days till the mec stops and his cord comes off.. Did you get stuck in immediately or wait a few days?

yuletopian99 · 01/01/2013 08:39

P.s. Happy New Year everyone. I started it in tears due to lack of sleep/knowledge of how to cope/missing DH time. Hoping this is normal or hormones.. Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 01/01/2013 08:50

Completely normal, the lack of sleep is especially difficult to start with. You will get used to it and it will settle down :)

StrawberrytallCAKE · 01/01/2013 09:19

Happy new year! My hips are hurting so much and feeling really weak that I can't walk properly!? I didn't have any pain when I was pregnant but since giving birth (terrible midwives who I saw for around 20 minutes of the 2 days I was in) I am really struggling. Dreading when dh goes back to work tomorrow and I have to cope with both of them by myself.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 01/01/2013 09:20

Happy birthday Stacey btw!!!

I cried loads after dd1 about not having time with dh and worrying it would never be the same again. It definitely gets better and you will get your evenings back don't worry .

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 01/01/2013 09:43

Utopian, i did the same - started with prefolds/wraps on day 3 but the first one irritated his stump so i went back to sposies till it came off. Prefolds were too much faff at 4am (angel fold is a pita with no nippas!) so we've been wiggling the pockets during the day and using 2 parters over night. What have you got? I have a mad selection iof random preloved but particularly like my ebay cheapies (fab colours and patterns, i make sure he's in one for weighing!)6 with tots bots easyfits for when we're out.

I'm also missing dp, have to wait till 2 for NY snogs Sad

Strawberry, have you got a friendly mw or hv you can get checked out by? Or go to the gp while dh is around to watch the bigger dc?

OP posts:
Cookiesandcoffee · 01/01/2013 10:23

Happy New Year everyone !! Lurking and reading (either fall asleep or distracted by either dd before I get to post !)

How often are you / planning on taking your LOs to the HV?

Cookiesandcoffee · 01/01/2013 10:24

Happy Birthday Stacey! Wine

SpottyTeacakes · 01/01/2013 10:29

We're having to go fortnightly due to poor weight gain but my HV said if it had all been ok they wouldn't expect to see you until the three month review after your first meeting with them (if it's your second or more)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 01/01/2013 11:24

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I'm still in bed ATM. DH is cleaning downstairs as his parents are coming over later. I've dressed Ethan in a cool dude outfit and his first pair of trainers. :) so cute!

Well I spoke to DH. I'm sure he thinks I'm mental! Lol. He's texting 2 girls but I know who they are and he's always spoken to them so it is just me being ridiculous. I'm still slightly Confused about why he hadn't stored their numbers in his phone. But I'm much happier now he knows I'm worried. I'm just so scared of losing him. And I'm hugely insecure since getting pg with Ethan.

I should probably get up and dressed before the in laws turn up. Hopefully they won't stay too long bad bad dil I don't have the energy for mil's 'my baby boy' over Ethan!

Bellaboo123 · 01/01/2013 11:29

Happy birthday stacey!

HoneyMumandSon · 01/01/2013 11:52

Happy birthday stacey really glad you talked things through and feel better with DH :)

Clarella · 01/01/2013 12:45

happy new year all!

welcome nettle! happy birthday stacey! glad you had a good chat.

hope you get to see dp soon pidg and he continues to make a speedy recovery.

hugs to you utopian - the hormones are quite random and things will feel better as time goes on and sleep returns - if not though do seek help.

went to pals last night and had lovely Lebanese food - was fine :) other pal with 7 wknd old confirmed gassy theory too with a horror tale of too many sprouts at xmas and a terrible time with her lo. and my mum told me today she had to watch what she ate. though our doctor host last night pulled a face and said old wives tale! it's only been stuff that gives me bad wind but spicy stuff seems ok. MIL and grapes honey?? wtf?! and fizzy milk lol!

met a friends new girlfriend who I now love who's an ante and post natal physio! hijacked her for post section exercise tips! she did say that (and I'm whispering) there is still a school of thought that a nip of brandy an hour before feeding an EXTREMELY fussy baby helps and is ok. but I didnt just write that! so didn't feel too bad after sipping a bit of cava last night. ( only braved a few sips!) however she also reckoned food wouldn't affect baby Confused

re period - my blood loss has suddenly returned and seems just like a period tho not v heavy - possible after 3 wks or still bleeding?
