Loving the festive name fizz

Is anyone else having probs with the mumsnet app? It crashes when I try to flip our conversation

GlaikingAroundTheChristmasTree · 04/12/2012 23:20

I've given up with it kitty. I like what I know!i

I'm still trying to decide which name I like best!

Kittycatcat · 04/12/2012 23:23

I like the other one cos you are our SS elf ;-)

ILikeToHoHoHo · 05/12/2012 14:35

I often find apps dissapointing - I think I expect too much from them.

I should be posting my SS tomorrow and I wrote my Christmas cards last night. I am starting to feel Christmasy Xmas Grin , plus we woke up to a dusting of snow this morning. The boys were so excited about the snow and had a chance to play in it on the walk to pre school.

I am out on a Christmas meal on Friday and I am wearing heels. Eeek. I haven't worn heels for bloody years so I am practising wearing them around the house. I tower over dh when I wear them, it's like Rod Steward and Penny Lancaster Xmas Grin

Because of course I look just like Penny .................... Xmas Hmm

ILikeToHoHoHo · 05/12/2012 14:38

Also meant to say that I agree with you about a renewed appetite for breakfast Gsy Xmas Grin

And I know nothing about eczema *Fizz, hopefully the GP will get it sorted.

chillikat · 05/12/2012 15:06

I downloaded the android app. It often crashes on opening but it usually only takes a couple of attempts to get it going and if I see the log-in screen I can be relatively sure it's not going to crash Xmas Hmm
We finally got an offer on our house from the investor who pulled out a few weeks ago. And we're up and down at the moment as the one we want has sold but the seller thinks his buyers might pull out [biting nails], otherwise there's not much we really want to look at, though we're seeing a couple on Thursday, one of which is opposite the house we want... Xmas Confused

Kittycatcat · 05/12/2012 15:23

Good luck chilli

A fell off the armchair into our laminate floor earlier and is sleeping more than usual. Should I be worried. He cried when it happened. Slept at nap time, fed and has gone back to sleep when he would usually be awake.

ILikeToHoHoHo · 05/12/2012 16:20

What do you instinctively think about A ?

It's not a problem letting him sleep, if there has been an injury sleeping helpsthebody to heal.

Apart from sleeping does he have any other symptoms? Vomitting etc?

If you are at all unsure phone NHS Direct.

ILikeToHoHoHo · 05/12/2012 16:22

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed about the selling and buying chilli.

Kittycatcat · 05/12/2012 16:23

Well he wasn't sick. Fed ok. But he's woken up unhappy. Tho he's popped a few times so could be tummy ache. Or hungry again.

Kittycatcat · 05/12/2012 16:24

Nice name change ;-)

chillikat · 05/12/2012 16:30

kitty, my friend works for nhs
direct and would add if he cried straight away and ask if the height was less than his height. if both answers yes he should be fine. just keep an eye on him.

Kittycatcat · 05/12/2012 16:36

Thanks chilli he did cry straight away and it's about his height if not a teeny bit higher.

chillikat · 05/12/2012 16:52

of course if you're still concerned give them a call.

Kittycatcat · 05/12/2012 17:32

Will do. Checked the height and he's nearly a head taller. He's laying on his play mat now and seems ok

Starshaped · 05/12/2012 20:47

The bloody iPhone app is driving me round the bend and seriously limiting my work time Mumsnet skiving . I pressed on the update all apps button on Monday and am now stuck with the rubbish new one instead of my trusty old app. It crashes everytime I try and load a thread. I want the old one back

Glad A seems ok Kitty. As with everybody else, I'd give NHS Direct a bell if you're at all worried.

House buying and selling is horrific chilli. We're going through it at the moment and I'm losing the will to live. There mightn't be much coming on the market at the moment but there will probably be some new stuff coming on after Christmas won't there?

Has everybody got snow apart from me? I want some .

Daisy17 · 05/12/2012 22:22

Hey all, have been lurking, hope everyone's over their bugs now. Just needed to have a little wail of my own.....why why why have they discontinued the Happyland rocket?! I was so looking forward to getting it for S for Xmas and when I went to order it tonight it's "no longer available". I'm trying to tell myself that it really doesn't matter and it's just a plastic rocket but actually I feel like sobbing. Too many early mornings, maybe..... Sad

Daisy17 · 05/12/2012 22:23

Hugs, Kitty, sounds like A is none the worse for his acrobatics.

GlaikingAroundTheChristmasTree · 05/12/2012 22:26

This one? There are a few brand new ones on eBay.

Starshaped · 05/12/2012 22:41

They definitely had it in my nearest Mothercare a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps it's just not available online at the moment or out of stock. Any chance you can get to a store?

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 05/12/2012 23:20

It varies Fizz, personally with my eczema it's more irritating than painful, but if you scratch it can get sore. Easier said than done though Blush

It sounds from your description that B has the same sort of baby eczema that my DS had. He'd get dry red patches but never seemed bothered by it and luckily he didn't scratch or get broken skin. A good emollient applied all over after his bath and also on the dry patches again in the morning kept it under control. He's grown out of it now.

Kittycatcat · 06/12/2012 00:17

The happyland rocket appears to be in stock with 'very'. Good luck

Daisy17 · 06/12/2012 07:56

Thanks, peeps, will investigate....

Daisy17 · 06/12/2012 10:03

I love you all, yay for Mumsnet! One rocket on its way from Very. Huge mark up from original Mothercare price but hey, it's a rocket! And a bit less than on eBay. I've already become the mad scrambling mum at Christmas!! Silly, but that's made my day, thanks all. Grin

Daisy17 · 06/12/2012 10:09

Fizz re eczema, I had it really badly when I was little and get bouts of it mildly now in the winter etc. It can get maddeningly itchy IF you scratch it, so yes, as Gsy says, keep it moisturised and it should be fine. S gets little patches, we use Cetraben on him, works well, it's what DP and I use too. Bad skin genes here!
