well the 39.5 fever might explain's DSs sleep today.

DD didn't start wearing hers until she was 18 months, she was just too dinky before that.

LittlePebble · 08/01/2013 22:27

We were given some reins and DH tried them walking to the shop yesterday evening. He ended up dangling E from them like a puppet for half the walk. Not sure it's how they're meant to be used....

LittlePebble · 08/01/2013 22:30

I would like to moan too, DH still no nearer agreeing to a second DC and I had planned to be pregnant by now Sad two of my friends as well as Dsis are now pregnant I'm not bitter and to cap it off we've found our dream home and can't afford it!
Moan over as you were x

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 08/01/2013 22:38

Feels good to let off some steam every now and then Smile
Lp - I laughed at that, dangling him like a puppet!!!

Moan as much as you like, ladies! Here's my moan - I have had a cold I haven't been able to shake for weeks. It's annoying. A very first world problem, but I wish to moan all the same Grin

pebble that must be hard if DH won't agree. DH wouldn't agree until recently and I found it soooo frustrating.

Cheshire thanks for the tips! Sounds like you've seen loads of Oz. I've seen a lot of Europe, but hardly any of Australia. I like the idea of Fiji too ... maybe next year. I think a tropical holiday can be my consolation prize if TTC doesn't work out. We are going to the Blue Mt's, so glad to hear it's nice!

LittlePebble · 09/01/2013 07:26

Pen the blue mountains is one of my all time favourite places. Get up really early (A may be able to help with this) and watch the sun come up over the three sisters....Envy

Re ttc I'm working on it by being LOVELY and not pestering for a couple if months. Helps that E is so cute at the moment toddling around everywhere and sleeping I'm hoping he'll come round once he feels like he has a choice in it.

Cheshire did you live in Aus? How will P get a visa if you go?

Climbing hope DS temp has come down.

Duck you would have either laughed or reported him for child cruelty I still haven't decided which one!

Engelsemama · 09/01/2013 17:26

cheshire there was a new nursery worker yesterday when I picked up M and I was all ready to go until she said , ?Don?t you want to know what he ate?? Blush Tbh, M eats whatever you put in front of him so I can never get very excited when I hear he?s had two slices of bread because he?d finish off the loaf if given half a chance Grin

How would you get P a visa? Are you or DH originally from Oz? Confused

climbing I like talking and I think moaning is just a side product of that Grin

I share your pain pebble

Awful sleep here. M woke up crying at 5 and wouldn?t go back to sleep (we are terrible parents and just ignored him till 6.30 hoping he?d go back to sleep but he didn?t). Am wondering if it?s teeth ? looks like he has more molars coming through.

I have therefore been a right moody mare today. Have a lesson observation tomorrow which I?m not really looking forward to. I feel like a bear who?s been woken up early during hibernation. Sad Moan moan moan.

I?ll cheer up next week I promise Wink

Engelsemama · 10/01/2013 20:30

I finally have a smile on my face - lesson observation today went well, went for a run with a friend this evening to let off some steam and the weekend starts here with a pear cider in my hand Grin

Day ending better than it started - M was awake crying from 4 - 6

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 10/01/2013 21:59

Wine Yipee!

TallyBear · 10/01/2013 22:00

Yey Engles Hope M sleeps in tomorrow for you.

Pebble Grin at puppeteering dh. Was E trying to run away or struggling to stay upright?

Pen they live in Tauranga I understand. Do you know anything about it? Someone said we will have to pay full price for Seb at that age (ouch). We've been looking for an excuse to go for years and this would seem to be it. We'll never go otherwise. Started a fund with Xmas money (£355 so far, little bit more to go!) I've got a great-aunt/uncle (and various second cousins I think) somewhere in NZ, but no idea where. Dm and Dd(ad) did a tour of Auz and NZ a few years ago and basically went relly-hopping. Thinking of stopovers in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Here's my moan - work is manic at the moment. Day-dreaming about going part time but, aside from the money issue, when would I do all the work? There is no-one else to do it. Would just be same work, less money and less time to do it in :(. Moan over...Who's next? Grin

Climbingpenguin · 10/01/2013 22:02

I shall oblige Grin

I had my haircut and it looks worse than it started off as. Was really looking forward to it as well. i possibly cried in the hairdressers

strawberrypenguin · 10/01/2013 22:11

Aww climbing poor you. I hate having my hair cut really hate it, it's why I now have it shoulder length just cut straight across. Means I don't need it cut that often and I don't have to fuss with it in the morning just ponytail it. In fact DH cut it for me last time I needed it done - didn't do a bad job either will probably get him to do it again soon.

Climbingpenguin · 10/01/2013 22:20

and I've gone up a dress size. I might need to do something about these snacks that are always in the house.

PenelopeLane · 11/01/2013 05:50

Tally Tauranga is a 3-4 hr drive from Auckland, and is near some really nice beaches Grin You shouldn't have to pay if Seb is under 2?

climbing that would make me cry too. Getting a haircut is such a treat, it's so upsetting when it goes wrong.

I had a parenting fail - forgot to sunscreen one of A's ears and it burnt really badly! Now is peeling and looks terrible. Sad At least I'll be more careful next time, and harsher with him when he refuses to wear a hat

ipswichwitch · 11/01/2013 20:45

Hello all! I've not dropped off the face of the earth, just been a bit crap at keeping up.
N is walking! Not entirely by himself but he zips about with his push along walker, and also the wash basket (improvisation!)
Now he's walking, and he's mastered bum shuffling, he's finally decided to give crawling a go Grin
His appetite is great, and his weight crept up between 0.4 and 2nd centile - was below 0.4 for so long. He's a real chatterbox too, and learning lots if new tricks (toilet roll shredding in 30 seconds!)

A serious diet is in order for me - I've enjoyed Xmas a little too much, but can't contemplate dieting while we still have chocs and biscuits here, so I plan to eat em all then diet!!

ipswichwitch · 11/01/2013 20:47

mrsH I'm so sorry to hear your news. Feel free to pm me if you like. I'm keeping fingers crossed we both have better luck this year x

CheshireDing · 11/01/2013 21:48

Pene I forgot we had babies when I made those suggestions Blush I guess if you are going to the Blue Mountains you are going to stay in NSW though? You don't want to be flying around do you?

Pebble yes we used to live in Melbourne (don't like it there but don't tell Engels ) Wink We will just stay until Permanent Residency is granted and work I may scratch about

Can I moan? I got a £60 penalty for driving in a bus lane on Christmas Eve ('cos I couldn't figure out how to get to the car park at work), trouble is I think I used the car park 3 times, so probably used the bus lane 3 times !!! Would have been cheaper to park for my usual £2.50. Bastards, who the hell cares about a car in a bus lane at 7.30am on Christmas Eve? Arses.

Yey for walking little N :)

:( for burn ears and haircuts, do you get it free/discounted if you cry (trying to look on the positive side)

LittlePebble · 11/01/2013 22:21

Climbing Sad for your hair I'm putting off getting mine cut as I know I'll cry afterwards especially at the price

Tally, E was trying to investigate stones, disappear down people's drives and I'm not sure but at one point he may have been about to lick the pavement....

Just tortured myself watching the Christmas call the midwife and got very broody watching newborns pop out Sad DH kept very quiet throughout!

strawberrypenguin · 12/01/2013 10:31

Hi ips yay for N walking Grin at using the washing basket, clever boy! W takes the lid off of the big plastic toy box we have in the living room and sits on it to be pushed round on the cheeky monkey.

chesh sorry about your bus lane fine that sucks Sad

I'm half broody at the moment. Keep thinking it would be nice to be preg again but I really don't want another baby yet, I want W to be able to understand whats going on a little bit and I want to enjoy him healthy on his own a bit first

Engelsemama · 13/01/2013 14:11

M likes pushing the washing basket around too ips

M regularly licks the floor or our coffee table pebble. He also likes eating our shoes Blush

I think eating all goodies in the house is an excellent diet strategy ips

climbing I live in fear of going to the hairdressers (mainly because Dutch hairdressers do not listen to me. It?s like I?m speaking another language Wink )

Am having a very lazy weekend. Must go ad get M up from his nap ? am wondering if he doesn?t need quite so much sleep during the day. Heard him chattering to himself at 5 again today

Got a HV appt tomorrow so will get weight and height (and injections). First time on my own, but DH has had so much time off with medical appt?s.

Got my museum card through yesterday and wanted to go out today but DH has been a lazy arse and has kept putting it off so am going to go out with M tomorrow after hv appt. maybe just to the open air museum in the next town over.

TallyBear · 13/01/2013 16:31

Sorry guys I need another moan- Seb had oral thrush. He was so unhappy last night, would not settle or take his dummy and was inconsolable, which is not like him at all, so we got an app at the out Of hours doc at the hospital. Seb thought it was a real adventure (10.15pm). She said he had a really bad case of thrush and his tongue was red raw :(. I feel awful but she did say it could come on really quickly. He slept in 45 min burst last night and cried inconsolably for 5-10 mins inbetween until he feel asleep with exhaustion. he was in our bed with me and dh slept on the sofa (the idea being so that one of us would get some sleep but I'm not sure how much he got. I'm now sat in the car on the drive as he feel asleep on the way back from Aldi and without a dummy this is the only way. he's got some gel to run in his mouth four times a day - in wondering if it is too much to ask the childminder to do that? If he's like he was today one of us will need to stay home with him I think.

Engelsemama · 13/01/2013 18:19

Oh no tally ! Sending you a big hug and lots of Wine

Climbingpenguin · 13/01/2013 20:18

poor little thing tally I think your right, if he is still in a lot of pain then he should stay at home, but I'm sure childminder would be OK with it. Remember to change the toothbrush and wash any bedtime soft toys etc.

thanks for the messages regarding hair, I really thought I was over reacting and being too emotional well I probably was, but at least I'm not the only one. I'm getting used to it now.

DS is feeling a bit better today (been ill since a few days after christmas), no fever. Still slept lots but I managed to get him to sleep in the cot. Today was the first time I felt he was up to it.

I have a date with some shoes and polish Hmm

Climbingpenguin · 13/01/2013 20:19

oh the stones thing lasts forever, just today I found one in my coat pocket

strawberrypenguin · 13/01/2013 22:40

Poor Seb tally that sounds really horrible hope he feels better soon.

Glad DS is on the mend climbing

W has had a day of throwing tantrums today. The slightest little thing has tipped him over the edge. No idea why he slept well last night and doesn't seem to be ill (hopefully its not the start of something)
