duck did the crayon come off? No more driving lessons - I can now terrorise other road users all by myself! Very useful it is too, I should have done it years ago!

sassy glad you are all feeling better

ips glad your ok, hope Monday goes well for you x Great that N's doing so well and lovely that he's sleeping! I'm hoping W will get back to sleeping through I'm not used to this getting up in the night anymore!

climbing Grin at Frankenstein arms that's a great description!

sassy34264 · 30/11/2012 15:16

Congratulations strawberry

Climbingpenguin · 30/11/2012 21:46

well DS was feeling a bit sorry for himself today.

he didn't feed last night but started feeding again today (milk feeds) but hates the stretches (although stops crying once done). It takes two of us to do it so didn't fit 4 in today. Poor little thing also had a fever today, unrelated he was clearly coming down with something anyway, (he also hates his temperature being taken so fights us on that) and still has nappy rash. I'll take him to the docs on Monday if rash is still there in case he has thrush, normally he clears up really quickly.

LittlePebble · 01/12/2012 06:50

CP how is DS this morning? We have a temperature here too second night of it, not sure if its due to jabs he had on Thursday or if he's come down with something. He's got two molars coming through so we've had very little sleep for the last few days and he seems a buy snotty this morning. We're meant to be Christmas shopping but I don't know whether I should take him out?

ipswitch good luck for Monday x

I'm gutted this week, my Dsis is pg and she works for DH's business with me. DH has said it means we're not going to be able to start ttc after Christmas as we had planned as he can't lose both of us to mat leave at peak season Sad

ipswichwitch · 01/12/2012 07:21

another one here with a temp :( well, he did have one yesterday. Got a frantic call from nursery yesterday (well, 3 missed calls as stupid phone decided not to vibrate and I had to have it on silent, then calls to DHs work and DMIL who's on hol! )saying he has a temp of 40. Got there and he was hot but not burning up and he was happily playing with the blocks.
Measured it with the ear thermometer at home and made it 38 - I know nursery use the forehead ones which aren't very accurate. He had his tea, was a bit clingy, and settled in bed fine. He did stir thoughout the night but settled with shushing through the monitor. He's def teething, but when I checked on him he doesn't have a temp anymore, and is sleeping soundly. we're going to have to go out today as we need calpol and teething stuff, and DH is at work so I can't send him. Hoping the xmas lights in town keep N happy! LP, N always has a snotty nose when he's teething too, his sheet is a bit crusty! Hope your DS - and yours CP, are better soon.

Congrats strawberry! I remember it was the best feeling ever passing my test at 27. I wished I'd done it sooner too. 2 days after I was on the motorway, and 2 months later I drove 270 miles to see my folks. There's no stopping me now!

Engelsemama · 01/12/2012 12:19

Sad pebble

M has a temp too (since yesterday). he's full of cold. have just given him a nice bath and put him in bed.

time for snoozing on the sofa.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 01/12/2012 23:09

Not long in from hospital, had to take S and she got hold of a bottle of cleaning stuff while at my mums for a few hours Blush. She had the lid unscrewed and it was split on the floor. I could smell it on her mouth so didn't want to take the chance! Phoned my work (nhs24 which was weird!) who told me to take her straight up to be looked over. She was absolutely fine, running around daft but better safe than sorry. Sat for 4 hours to be told as she hasn't been sick, good chance she didn't swallow any. Got a stern telling off for it though...

So yeah, that's been my eventful Saturday night!!!

Hope all poorly babies are back to normal soon. Had a few days of snotty nose last week but it didn't come to much. Will catch up properly tomorrow Smile

Penelope1980 · 02/12/2012 01:54

mummy oh no, what a panic! Lucky she didn't swallow any. I get worried sometimes that my baby proofing isn't up to scratch.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 02/12/2012 09:01

pen my kitchen is completely shut off and she doesn't get in at all, but with the lay out if my mums it's not possible without putting up 3 gates as its a area that leads off to so many other rooms if that makes sense so the cupboard under the sink had a child lock on it but god knows how she got it open! We were in livingroom and she was wandering in and out when it went quiet for a few mins so I went to investigate and I found her. The doctor told me she should be supervised 'at all times' Hmm. Like I'm going to follow and hover over her!

But yes, lesson learned and it won't be happening again!

Glad to hear she's okay duck

LittlePebble · 02/12/2012 20:25

Anyone able to help? E has been screaming about an hour after we put him down and seems to want to be out of his room. We've tried milk, cuddles and just sitting in his room but he's just crying even though he's very tired. He's teething and had MMR last Thursday and has a cold but it seems to be something other than just feeling poorly. He did it every two hours last night. Is there separation anxiety around this age or could he have been scared by something? I'm running out of ideas on what to do...

Climbingpenguin · 02/12/2012 21:31

it is quite a combo to be fair pebble sorry to not have helpful suggestions. tbh DS seems to get an worse upset sleep pattern so readily that I've given up trying to find a root course.

Have you drugged him up?

TallyBear · 02/12/2012 22:01

Mummy how scary. At least she was OK. We keep having to shut the kitchen door, or keep an eye on him in there, as all Seb wants to do is eat the cat biscuits! I also worry about baby-proofing like that but we don't leave him unsupervised in the kitchen or bathroom. I really need to get some cupboard lock things.

LP no help sorry, I hope E settled down. And Sad re: the ttc.

Seb's just come through his umpteenth cold. I could do with a break of a day or two before the next one....

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 02/12/2012 23:03

lp S had a few nights of that last weekend. I ended up just going to bed with her and having her sleep with me not helpful. She wanted nothing but me and got so upset if I tried putting her down, like a proper upset cry Sad
Hope it's not to much of a long night for you all

Engelsemama · 03/12/2012 06:46

I know what you mean tally I don't think I have any clothes or furniture that are NOT covered in snot right now.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 03/12/2012 10:11

Sickness has now descended on the duck house. 3 changes of clothes before 9.30am Sad. Was coming out her nose and everything, poor baby looked so scared Sad

Engelsemama · 03/12/2012 12:28

Oh no Duck Poor little S Sad

sassy34264 · 03/12/2012 13:02

Poor mummy and s not having the best week. hope it improves soon.

pebble Could it be about the dark? Do you have a light on at all? I know i went through it with Isobel. She would just seem too scared to be in her room, despite J being in there with her. I'm afraid i went through a lot of having to lie on the floor next to her cot, holding her hand until she feel asleep. Her cry was a proper frightened/hysterical, cry if we tried to leave her. She's settled now though.

sassy34264 · 03/12/2012 13:04

I should add that i still periodically end up on the bedroom floor at 2am in the morning, if she's bad again. I presume it's when she as a bad dream. She settles straight away if she sees me get on the floor with a blanket and pillow though.

TallyBear · 03/12/2012 20:02

Mummy oh no. Poor baby duck.

Hope you're OK; it's no fun looking after a puking baby when you want to puke yourself!

LittlePebble · 03/12/2012 20:19

Mummy Sad hope S is ok.
engels and tally Wine we're on yet another cold.
sassy I wondered about dark he has dimmer switch on his light so have left light on low so he can see.

I think though it might be just sleep changing/ who knows what! pa he is on a strict regime of calpol/ ibuprofen Grin and he slept better last night but still unsettled.

On a much brighter note what are you getting DC's for Christmas? Smile

TallyBear · 03/12/2012 20:36

Christmas? Oh god, I don't want to think about Christmas yet. Er, more toys?! We've got a set of trucks (ikea), one of those toys with four layers of tracks and cars that 'fall' down them (Nearly new sale) and a tambourine (Wilko) stashed on top of the wardrobe. What else does a baby this age want? Maybe some more 'That's not my...' books? Any ideas?

TallyBear · 03/12/2012 20:44

LP our monitor has a night light and we have a moon light on in the hall all night, but that's mainly so we can see in the night, although I think Seb likes it too. He was upset and struggling to settle tonight so I let him play with his slumber frog for a bit but when I put it down he was proper upset, real tears and everything Sad. It's funny what they get upset by.

Climbingpenguin · 03/12/2012 20:51

This will be the first xmas I'm getting DD anything.

DS will not be getting something from us. I would suggest as we have October babies that maybe get something they won't need until the summer. DS really likes doing this atm

We also have the house of vom (although not DS yet). His sleep was bad and we even had to rock him off tonight so think he has something. Plus his eczema is getting worse, used to only be on his scalp and is now all over his forehead. Don't think the cream we use on his scalp helps much with that, so will book a GP at some point, maybe after I have booked his MMR Blush

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 03/12/2012 20:54

Poor babies! Is it coming up to a full moon?! We have a gro egg that lets off a little light so I guess S is never really in the dark, but at my parents house, she is in total darkness, but come to think about it, it was there that she had the night of screaming so maybe it is a darkness thing. I guess at this age they are very aware of everything now so maybe it is scary being in the dark. Who know Confused

Christmas... I've got S a beautiful wooden pram, a train set (ikea), the winter book pack from book people, some crayons, colouring book and clothes. My mum has got her a doll for the pram and I think my gran is buying her a tea set. There is a little girl who lives next door to us who is 6 months older than 6 so I've gotten a good ideal from her as to what S might enjoy in the months to come. She's very into 'role play' so I've gone with things like that. I'm hoping if I get the chance to crochet her a baby blanket set for the pram but I'll see how I go for time!! I'm so so excited to see her this Christmas morning Smile. Last year, with our babies still really brand new it was special, but this year is going to be so much fun!!! Grin
Please to report no more sickness after this morning but its now coming out the other end. The nappies are horrendous! She had about 4 changes in 10 mins. They smell that sicky way as well, yuck Confused
