You too bunt hope the weathers as nice where you are

Bad night last night. N very unsettled and wanted feedin every 2 hours again. Got quite hysterical if i tried just settling then spent between 3.30 and 5am poking me in the eye, pulling my hair and clapping like a maniac. I wouldn't care but MIL has stayed over a few nights thus week to try help get his sleep routine back on track and he's only woke 2x a night!!!!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend x

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 05/08/2012 22:29

How exciting was that!! Blink and you miss it!

So proud of our Andy Murray earlier too. I think I shed a tear when he got his gold Smile

CheshireDing · 06/08/2012 00:24

Sorry about that Pebble :( Fx for next time :) Hope E has gone to sleep now, unlike me who cannot sleep!

Hope M and N have cheered up Engels and Ips

Don't go too far away Mama :)

I have been wondering where Sassy is too. I guess maybe she is busy with house and eldest DD/ExP stuff :(

P is 10 months old today, this time 10 months ago I was staring at a shrivelled tiny thing thinking how quiet she was and that she was supposed to be a dark featured hairy boy called George. HA HA HA she NEVER stops talking now, although I have no idea what she is saying. Possibly heard "Dad" today, did try to get her to say "Barbara" but she wasn't having any of it!

Penelope1980 · 06/08/2012 07:04

I too am wondering where the last 10 months went! This time ten months ago I was at home having contractions 4 mins apart, writhing in the corner, swearing, and being stared at by 5 five year old neice. I'd only been in labour an hour and would only be in labour for 3.5 hrs more. Weird to think about ...

A talks all the time too! His current fave is just "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah", usually said while pushing his trucks. Cute.

Engelsemama · 06/08/2012 09:05

Morning all.

Diva M seems to have gone ? reckon he was just overtired?

He fell over last night and whacked his mouth on the coffee table on the way down. You can see the cut in his mouth Sad Seems happy enough today now and back to his daredevil ways ? has started standing on his own for a few seconds and then diving towards the sofa or coffee table.

Enjoy the summer bunt . I?m sure that once the new school year starts again I?ll be taking a break from MN too!

Always the way ips . Hope you got some sleep last night.

10 months pen and Cheshire ! OMG ? cannot believe how quickly it?s going. M is 10mo next week (same day as our wedding anniversary). M?s fave sounds seem to be ba-pa-pa-pa and laughing like he?s doing a machine gun impression Grin

Must run ? taking M for a hv/dr check-up and weigh-in.

strawberrypenguin · 06/08/2012 09:39

eng w is doing that two second stand and grab thing too. Can almost see the 'arhhh I'm not holding on' flit through his head before he grabs for something.

Engelsemama · 06/08/2012 11:11

It's like M has no fear strawberry ! He's just pushing to find his boundaries. Am betting he's walking before his birthday Smile

Just back from hv/drs. 76cm and 9.8kg (21.6lb). Got caught in a downpour a few streets form home and reckoned that by the time I got the raincover on, we'd both be soaked through so left it. Ms legs all wet (still didn't wake him up though Grin ) so have towelled him off and left him snoozing (so it'll be my fault if he gets a cold).

bunt I have adjusted my talk settings and hidden AIBU among other things so am actually spending less time on MN overall while spending more time on the threads that I want to (like this one/Good housekeeping/living overseas/books/bilingualism). I think AIBU must be some kind of wormhole or Bermuda-like triangle - I can lose hours in there!

lovinbeingmum · 06/08/2012 15:15

engels being a tad over curious Smile...what age are the kids you teach?

am starting to look at nurseries which got me looking at the montessori way of teaching. any views on it?

Engelsemama · 06/08/2012 17:16

I teach secondary lovin but I will confess to not knowing anything about Montessori at all.

Have just been shouting at the TV screen watching Team GB beating Team NL in the jump off for Gold/Silver in the showjumping. DH is looking even mroe like Scrooge now Grin

Scheherezade · 06/08/2012 20:14

Hello all
Sorry fuzzzy realised I never replied to you, results came back last week, they're going to wait see if the 'abnormality' reverts to normal itself, so I have to go for another colposcopy in 6 months. I've been bleeding for 3 weeks now, but my GP assures me its due to my contraceptive injection.

CheshireDing · 06/08/2012 21:07

Lovin isn't Montessori all about "exploring their creative side" and getting involved in nature and stuff? (this is my basic explanation as I have no brain anymore these days). When I was looking at the nurseries I remember reading some Mums were hoping to open one in a town near us. I sort of like the idea and I read the Sharon Osbournes children went to one but whilst I am a bit alternative sometimes I did wonder what would happen as they got older if they then had to transfer to a "mainstream" school?

MrsHende · 06/08/2012 21:28

I teach primary and have taught children who went to Montessori nurseries. I didn't feel like they found it hard to conform to mainstream school, they were all delightful kids!

BB3 · 07/08/2012 07:01

Ipswitch how is n? Ayse had a heart murmur but it cleared up by itself - she now has to be checked every year just until she's 5 but she's just fine - fingers crossed for n too.

Fuzz did you hear about the job? Sorry if I've missed it.

Bunt, enjoy your summer! Have fun with the kids x

BB3 · 07/08/2012 07:04

Grin at Diva M!

10 months! It's gone so fast hasn't it! The girls are 1 next month! 1?!!!! How did I get through that year already!!!

lovinbeingmum · 07/08/2012 07:07

cheshire mrsH hadn't realized you were in education too....great to have more inputs! I've just started reading about it. Ideally it sounds great which kind of got me wondering if there was anything I could do with him at home in terms of activities and entertainment. Don't think there's anything for such an early stage......

ipswichwitch · 07/08/2012 08:16

bb3 N gets checked on Friday but drs say its fairly common in anaemic babies so not too worried (yet!)

Grin @ cheshire. N had a good Barbara shouting session at the beach in Saturday. Other featured names include Bob and Gary!! And we don't know any of those either!

Had a horrendous night Sunday, MIL came over Monday finding me in tears (overtired) and immediately said I have to stop bf Hmm which is her default solution to everything. Had a chat with HV who agrees with me that it's likely teething and him recovering from everything. Basically she said to hang in there, his solid intake is pretty good now, an we'll get there. Think MIL was surprised HV backed me up so instead of pushing it she ended up staying the night to do night wakings and give N ebm. Feel much better today!

I agree engels, aibu is a time warp and I'm sure I've lost hours there :)

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 07/08/2012 09:49

I had a freak out moment last night. Got an email through saying 'your baby in her 44th week' when it then clicked in my mind that there are 52 weeks in a year therefor it's just under 8 weeks till S first birthday!!! I was like Shock omg! Have decided if the weather is nice, we will have a little garden party at my mums with friends and family and if it's raining, I'll have it in my house. Her birthday is on a Sunday so think on the Monday we will go to Edinburgh zoo to see the pandas Smile. I can't believe that our baby's first year is almost over!! Must get onto pinterest for ideas now!

ips good to hear that solids are going well, just sorry to hear the sleep is still difficult. Would you consider a bottle of formula for bedtime? May keep him going a little longer. You are doing a wonderful job though and you should be very proud of yourself Smile

mrsh how is sleep going your end after L managing through the night last week? Are you looking forward to getting back to work? Can't believe the summer holidays are coming to an end! It's went by very fast!

bb3 not heard back from job yet, hopefully by the end of the week. How is everything your end?

BuntCadger · 07/08/2012 11:11

Ok I can't keep totally away Grin. I've deleted app off phone so only on iPad now. Just spending too much time on here.

Ipswitch J was awful at night when teething and now they are through nights settled more (still have nights whee she will wake at 3 or 4ish but not all the time). Still dream feeding and wondering when to stop that. I think it will be when she doesn't feed when I lift her.

My nipples are really sore atm Sad lasinoh doesn't work as I'm allergic to wool. I'm going to get checked in case it's thrush. But my gut feeling is it is hormone related as similar to when I was nursing ds2 and pregnant. (I'm not pregnant).

School holidays are really busy, went to zoo yesterday for first time with J. Quite impressed as I am managing to get us all out. Might go strawberry picking later. Have booked a suprise mini break for us and dc to Legoland for 2 nights in Macdonald 4* spa hotel with pool etc. Ds2 current interest is star wars Lego so will be perfect. Also now he has his DLA and autism card he doesn't have to queue which makes it doable. Ds1 is very tired as he camped in the garden over weekend with a friend and they didn't sleep much.

J is babbling more now and said Barbara today Grin wtf is Barbara?! Confused. Love it when she says mama .

Is anyone else's lo clinging onto them like a limpet. She doesn't want to be held by anyone else but me (incl dh). It is cute tho Wink

BuntCadger · 07/08/2012 11:12

Another thought ips re N is that where he's been poorly he might be trying to catch up/ build up supply maybe? X

strawberrypenguin · 07/08/2012 20:18

That mini break sounds fab bunt

W has finally cracked crawling! He's realised that it doesn't hurt (tummy time used to hurt him cos of his over large kidney)so he's crawling and tying to stand on his own all at the same time! He gets a bit confused sometimes with which one he's doing it's very funny.

LittlePebble · 07/08/2012 20:21

ipswitch hope you have some better nights. Smile @ hv backing you up.

E is now speaking something (we think kling-on) he makes a guttural gurgling sound when he sees the cat or dog, very definitely his sound for them but even if you tried you couldn't make it into "cat".
He's also getting very clingy and also likes to lick me but I don't feel particularly special as he also likes to lick: the dog, the carpet, windows, mirrors and the netting in travel cots Hmm

OP posts:
lovinbeingmum · 07/08/2012 20:31

bunt glad you're not disappearing for good. your break sounds really good. waiting for R to grow so that he I can go to legoland. Park Asterix and all those places Smile
