lovinbeingmum · 22/07/2012 09:36

cheshire thanks...the smile on my face when i'm right in a debate Grin

ipswichwitch · 22/07/2012 17:50

Oh no cp hope he's better soon and you all get some rest tonight.

Will check out the recipe tomorrow morning, thanks. I went and told SIL id make her some no bother, and spent hours trying to find the recipe! Doh!

Dropping N off at his aunties now as he'll spend the night. It's his first night away ever (sob!) sure he'll be fine, we'll be a mess! :) we'll put him to bed and decided to go for a nice meal in our fave restaurant. They do awesome sticky toffee pud that so has my name on it!!

Scheherezade · 22/07/2012 18:27

C not eating either fuzzzy had to really force his morning bottle and wouldn't have dream feed last night after only 4oz bedtime bottle, refused afternoon bottle and dinner, but had lunch and some naan bread snack so as long as he has bottle tonight I'm not worrying too much.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 22/07/2012 19:07

ips enjoy your night out, you deserve it Smile
sch interesting that C has been the same. Maybe a 10 month thing! Still can't believe they are coming up for 10 months Shock
cheshire I must actually measure S as I think she has shot up too! I'm noticing when she stands she seems very long! P looks teeny tiny in your photos from today, esp one of her in highchair!
Parents got home last night. S was a bit unsure to start but then full of smiles Grin. She ended up awake till 11pm just pottering about with us so I just let her be, and then we both crashed out there for the night. Don't know where she got the energy from! Parents were impressed with all her new skills Smile
So tonight ive just put her in cot with dummy and left her. I can still hear her chatting away but she is very tired so hoping she will go over herself shortly. The laying her down and holding her was just getting me worked up so I'm not doing it. Fingers crossed no tears!

No sun today in Scotland, just the usual rain Sad. Hear down south was much nicer, hope you all made the most of it!!! Smile

Scheherezade · 22/07/2012 20:05

Been lovely here, gloriously sunny :)

I know, C is 10mo on Tuesday! He's suddenly changed, crawling on hands and knees, can go from sitting to lying, pulling up on everything. Gone from 4-2 naps a day.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 22/07/2012 20:14

Yes! I've seen a huuuuuuge development change in the last 2 weeks. It's amazing watching them grow Smile

Scheherezade · 22/07/2012 20:36

Same, the changes have all happened in the last 1-2 weeks. It's amazing to see him as a mobile little boy, not just a 'baby blob' as I call the 0-6m stage Grin

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 22/07/2012 20:47

My mum made that comment earlier, 'gone are the days of plonking her on a mat under baby gym' !!

ClimbingPenguin · 22/07/2012 21:23

he has now not fed for coming up to 8 hours again. Although I'm not too worried means i won't be able to relax to attempt sleep until he feeds. He did have a few feeds in the night and this morning though, just got to wait until his hunger outstrips discomfort again and he is calm enough :(

i know it may make me sound like a bad mummy, but i did a 1.25 mile run tonight. Plan to keep it around here for a few more sessions before increasing it. Have AF which is bad for PF but it held up fine. At some point i will have to send the physio a thank you, but want to do some fast runs first.

Supposed to be having a two hour settling session at the nursery tomorrow afternoon.

Mamamaiasaura · 22/07/2012 22:07

climbing is it a nursing strike do you think? There was something on kellymom iirc that goes into it. I remember ds2 seeming to not want it and it usually preceeded him hitting a milestone or coming down with a bug.. Then he fed like a monster to catch up Hmm.

Outnumbered Happy 9 months to Leo today

fuzzy yay for your parents back. Must be lovely to see them Smile loved the photo on Facebook with the grandma top.

Brilliant day here, spent on the beach on the isle of wight. Dh, me and ds1 a bit red but ds2 and Jessica fine and a bit brown too. Kids did so well today as well, even tho jessica ate sand... Dreading that nappy tomorrow Confused. No school run now for ages, and I am pretty sure 8th tooth is through but she won't let me have a good look. Bad night last night, so reckon that was reason.

We had acrobatics in the pub today when trying to change Jessica's nappy.. Almost got poo everywhere. It's nearly impossible to change her now she's determined to escape. She loved the sea and was crawling in the surf and chasing the waves in and out. Also lots more pulling up on me and then standing alone. She's very proud of herself.

Food obsessed at the moment, anyone eating she stares liked a starved baby and makes hungry gimmee gimmee noises Blush.. She is not starved at all.

lovinbeingmum · 22/07/2012 22:11

climbing you can't be a bad mum for wanting to get out a bit. hope he feeds soon but stating the obvious....do make sure he stays hydrated.....all the best for the night....

Scheherezade · 22/07/2012 22:18

Climbing I don't see how running a mile makes you a bad mum?! Don't be daft ;)

Do they stop eating food at same time as nursing strikes? We think C is having about half what he usually does. But what with him being poorly yesterday... He was really upset at bedtime, but went to sleep after a dose of nurofen.

ClimbingPenguin · 22/07/2012 22:26

I have plently of experience of nursing strike with DD She used to semi-strike at teething as well, however she always took a bottle fine. It kinda is a strike, but it still clearly hurts him to feed solids as well, so he only takes one or two mouthfuls therefore not a normal strike. Just need the ABs to help his throat to get better.

sch general illness often makes them go off solids and reduce fluids. If he is having at least half of fluids then generally no reason to worry. I don't know if it helps to know that DS had virtually nothing for nearly 24 hours and was only slightly dehydrated and didn't need intervention. They just wanted to keep an eye on him until he fed at that point. If nappies are wet then great. AnE said if no wee in double the normal time so say 6-8 hours then start to worry.

ClimbingPenguin · 22/07/2012 22:26

btw thanks, you do feel when your DCs are ill you are expected to not leave them.

ClimbingPenguin · 22/07/2012 22:28

mama I generally try and change DS on the floor. I'm fearful of being asked to move but no-one has yet. I would reply that he tries to catapult of the table if someone said something and I try to do it quickly in a quiet spot

TallyBear · 22/07/2012 22:39

Pen Seb loves mash and beans. If we do it with breaded chicken he gnaws on that but we spoon feed the mash and beans.

We've had to give up blw, he gets too frustrated and is so much happier with spoonfeeding, although there are some things that he likes to eat with fingers. We just mash up what we've having. He demolished a mashed up roast pork sunday dinner today. Loads stashed in the freezer too. I have a Sainsbury's recipe for Courgette 'cakes' somewhere, they look good but I've not had time to try them yet.

Sch/Eng Seb hates rice. Unless it's risotto, even if we spoon it in I think he hates the sensation in his mouth. It must be quite odd.

Fuzzzy will need to look out for the yoghurt coated raspberries. Two of Seb's favourite things so bound to be a hit.

Didn't manage to do banana loaf in the end - bananas were a bit too passed it. And realised I don't own a loaf tin! Will a brownie tray work instead.

Mama Love the hungry gimme gimmee baby noises....so sweet!

Mamamaiasaura · 22/07/2012 23:12

Sorry climbing totally forgot he had tonsillitis. Hope the antibiotics kick in, does calpol help at all with feeding.

We do a mix of spoon feeding and blw (and she basically pinches my dinner, tho she sent my plate on the floor and it smashed.)

Engelsmeisje · 23/07/2012 07:15

I usually just give M fruit Cheshire and I wonder if he?s getting bored! Celery and cucumber sounds good.

climbing don?t feel guilty about going for you run. You NEED that space for your own head. I was doing the same from Jan to May. Arranged my training times with DH in advance and would do the same for him if it?s something he wants/needs to do.

Sounds like you all had a lovely day mama

tally we have been mixing blw with spoon feeding but M seems to have developed a very lazy streak over the last week. If I offer him a crust of bread at lunch he?ll hold onto the highchair, close his eyes and open his mouth, then cry if he doesn?t get fed! Not sure why he?s suddenly started doing it!

Well, apparently 6.30am is the new wake up time. DH didn?t need his alarm today (1st day back at work after holiday) and we were up and dressed before 7. Trying to whip the house into shape today so that I can do errands tomorrow and carry on with my ?jungle?garden.

Have a good day everyone Smile

Scheherezade · 23/07/2012 07:39

He's only had 4oz again :( seems happy enough and no temperature. Should I just see how he goes? I'll use the remaining milk in his porridge.

Scheherezade · 23/07/2012 07:50

Actually, it keeps for 2hrs doesn't it. I could try him with it in A bit, and give breakfast a little later. Although he has a nap 9-11ish. Urgh, I hate all this food/bottle/naptime juggling!

V. Smelly wet poo this morning (him, not me, haha) which I think is bordering on diarrhea.

strawberrypenguin · 23/07/2012 07:59

climbing how is DS today? Agree with the others dont feel guilty about your run things like that are important.

ips did you have a nice meal/evening?

DH and I managed to go out for the evening on Saturday for the fist tie in months. A good friend of ours stayed over and volunteered to 'babysit' while we went out. So we put W to bed and went to see Batman :)

I'm officially back at work today :( I have 3 more weeks before I'm actually back, think they are going to go by fast. Then DH has W for 3 weeks before he starts nursery in September.

strawberrypenguin · 23/07/2012 08:00

scheh is he teething?

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 23/07/2012 09:29

sch I've found the past few mornings that if S had drank all her morning bottle (7oz) then she hasn't ate much breakfast. Don't know if she is to full from milk. This morning I made 6oz and put it in her cup and she is drinking it while having her porridge. Slept in a bit this morning as she is just eating now.

ClimbingPenguin · 23/07/2012 13:27

things are still going better, DCs seem better within themselves. DD had a sandwich today and DS had a bit of toast. DS has twice now done two feeds a few hours apart followed by a nine hour break.

have a settling in session at nursery this afternoon, just for two hours so I think we will be alright, then have climbing tonight so have just done as many jobs now as possible so there is less for DH to do tonight as he is really tired.

Scheherezade · 23/07/2012 16:45

C's usually ok fuzzzy - he has his milk 6.30-7ish, and breakfast 8.30-9ish. I think if I gave him breakfast at 7am he would be starving by midmorning, and a little snack won't do.

He refused lunch, but ate some blueberries, and had all his afternoon bottle. Was just concerning as he sleeps through the night, so only 4oz after 12/13 hours isn't much.

He might be teething sp - very dribbly, but no red cheeks. Friend has given me some nelsons powders so will try them.
