SilverBirdie · 03/04/2013 21:58

Stonking cold!

lumpylumps · 03/04/2013 22:01

Oh Newmum I'm always on Facebook but have somehow managed to miss that. I'm sorry to hear that but you sound happy with the decision and and I'm a strong believer that your better off happy and apart than fighting and together!!!

lumpylumps · 03/04/2013 22:04

No, beady I am a genuine fool!!! Although I was born at 4pm so officially not!! I think you need to let us judge your names...........

cinnamongreyhound · 03/04/2013 22:09

Good news on potty training lumpylumps!

Luke is in no way a baby either newmum001, big bed, pants, talking all day and very sure of what he wants. Still hilarious with his colours, gets it wrong every time but always different! He's my little buddy :)

Glad you're having a rest SilverBirdie, your baby will be very healthy! Shes probably sapping every spare nutrient which is helping you stay poorly Wink

My friend had her baby Monday, due 14th May, 4lb 7 and healthy. He's got a feeding tube but doing well. Early for same reason as her first but she didn't go into labour this time has ecs. Hoping to see her soon. On the subject of names he's Barney.

Dixiebell · 03/04/2013 22:34

Just stalked you and found your name thread Beady. I commented there, as I said, Teddy would have been a Betty if he was a girl! So exciting choosing names.

newmum001 · 04/04/2013 07:59

Thanks girls, I feel do much happier and I think dp does too although it was harder for him obviously as he had to move out but he still see's grace loads so he's not missing out.

Beady if one of your names is Betty then that gets my vote no matter what the other one is. I adore the name Betty I think it's so pretty!

SilverBirdie · 04/04/2013 08:36

It's not Betty but I do like that. Sadly we know a poodle called Betty.... Why do people do that?!? Mind you, next door used to have a cat called Jack Grin
Thanks Dixie I'll go and look Smile

sassy34264 · 04/04/2013 13:01

Hi newmum Glad you are ok, and grace too.

I've commented too beadit

I like granny chic too, but some are just too old fashioned for me. My nan's name being one of them - mildred. Although my brother has said he will call his girl millie after her, if he has any.

He's about to move in with his new girlfriend and i have a feeling this may be the one, so fx.

Eva can climb out of her cot.......argh............she's not 18 months yet! I have cut out her nap. but i can't cope running up and down the stairs or worse sitting there until she goes to sleep. grrrr.

If she falls asleep down here, i will let her have an hour, but i can't be playing games during the day and the night too.

She has no concept of my cross mummy voice either little bugger
Doesn't bother her at all. Grin

I just can't bring myself to tell her off, like i do the twins. I don't know whether it's her age or the fact that she's my baby. wah. She's just too cute to make cry.

going soft in my old age

SilverBirdie · 04/04/2013 13:45

Thinking on it, there aren't loads of granny chic names I do like just the one on my thread is a favourite. Others that would have been considered this a few years ago seem to make a different list now: top ten Grin
Think Dh is leaning toward Sylvie now though so we'll see. I do done it funny that some people find names like Edith über grotesque and I think it's super pretty Grin
Jack still has cot bars on sassy only attempted once to get out and that was it so until I get my arse in gear and swap these rooms around before dd arrives, I'm hoping he remains the same Grin

sassy34264 · 04/04/2013 13:54

I'm in the uber grotesque camp. Sorry. I do really like edie though.

Like i said on your thread, i like ivy, mabel and avery.

I really really wanted avery when i was in the hospital. I hadn't thought of it before, but it just came to me when i looked at her. But dp (and my mum) where like Hmm as in a bird house?

but i still think it's lovely.

Although i do absolutely prefer and adore Eva. It suits her sooooo much. I'm always quite surprised how much i love it, cos unlike the other dc's name, it was not a name i have liked for years and years.

sassy34264 · 04/04/2013 13:59

Probably shouldn't have said that, in case you do call her that. oops. Blush

Someone said on your thread though, that sometimes the name edith sounds hard, masculine etc, but when you apply it to a little girl you know, it's very sweet. and i did think that's true. It sounds a lot nicer when you visualise saying it too a little cutie.

Dixiebell · 04/04/2013 14:18

Just goes to show Beady, you should just go with what you like and ignore all others' opinions!

sassy34264 · 04/04/2013 15:27

There isn't a name in the whole world, that ever single person likes. It's based and biased on friends you liked, didn't like, preconceptions of what the name sums up, ie, elizabeth (clever) Jessica (popular and rabbit!) (my preconceptions)

I'd be grateful you've found 2 that both you and dh like. Eva didn't have a name for 2 days and Chloe for a week!!Grin

Eva has a cracked, looks slightly infected thumb. Any ideas? Trying lanisol (sp?) but she's just sucking it off! She is a thumb sucker.

sassy34264 · 04/04/2013 15:35

Forgot to say beadit i'm surprised jack hasn't climbed out. or stepped out Wink with being so tall.

Eva has a glass lip. She must have bust it close to 10 times already. Monday night cue climbing out, bang, screaming, blood. Bit side of her tongue this time...........

She looks like a vampire when it happens.

cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2013 15:44

The Savlon that forms a skin over it is great, I use it on mine a lot. Tend to use germoline on myself.

If you like it then go with it, took me a good 6 months to like Luke and I would still change it if I could!

sassy34264 · 04/04/2013 15:56

I know, but is it safe to eat germoline? cos that's what she will be doing....... Grin

Will look into the savlon skin cream. The crack is an open sore right acroos the line on the knuckle of the thumb. Wondering if i need docs. ??? It's raised and red like an infection. Confused

Where's lumpy

lumpylumps · 04/04/2013 17:35

I'm here!!!!! I'm not sure about the Avalon that leaves a film cos if it is infected that could hold the infection in if you get me. I use sudocrem on minor cuts. If you think it's infected you could always get the chemist to have a quick look to save you bothering with the Dr. It's difficult without seeing it!!

As for names, I love Nancy!!! I like Edith, my 1st boss was called Edith. Brilliant lady. Gave me the confidence to get where I am today!!
Not a fan of Sylvie tho. No particular reason, just don't like it!!!!

lumpylumps · 04/04/2013 19:19

cinnamon I'm the same with Ollys name. What would you change Luke to?? I'd go with either Lucas or Jamie!!!

Day 2 another success. 2 accidents this morning while he remembered what he was supposed to be doing but dry the rest of the day. I can comfortably leave him 1 1/2 hours before I prompt him. I don't think he'll go of his own accord yet but that'll come!!

cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2013 20:46

Oscar Grin dh wouldn't have it but out of our final three I think he'd best suit Sam (other was Ben).

I don't know I've put it on gungey grazes after cleaning them and they've got less rather than more inflamed.

lumpylumps · 04/04/2013 21:03

It'll be fine as long as it's not actually infected! Anything like that helps to prevent infection and aid healing but won't treat it.

I love Oscar!!!

SilverBirdie · 04/04/2013 21:13

sassy no need to dig Grin
I love hearing honest opinions which is why I ask. Also why I'm not the sort of person to just go with what I love without really thinking hard. I would hate to have overlooked what a vast majority thought and burden a child for life.
Avery just makes me think of a big cage full of birds and I don't like Ivy but do like Mabel Smile
If I wasn't an Alison I'd have Alice on my list too but I think my sister fancies it too. Actually I think she likes Alice Ellen but seems to have forgotten all about me being Alison Helen.... Don't think she likes me enough to name her child so closely after me Grin

I love Oscar too but it's another dog favourite around here Sad

I've been so pent up recently dealing with a vile, vile customer on NOTHS Sad
She has really got my blood boiling Sad

sassy We're lucky that by bedtime Jack is like a grumpy teenager and pulls his covers over and tells you to leave!! Always on my mind that he is perfectly capable of thudding out tho

SilverBirdie · 04/04/2013 21:32

Bit of a random sentence in the middle of that post! Sorry for ranting

cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2013 21:59

That's rubbish SilverBirdie, hope you get it sorted. Happy to send some hate mail if you give me her address Wink. There's always someone who ruins things :(

Emily would be my number one girl choice, I know it's pretty common but I love it!

SilverBirdie · 04/04/2013 22:12

That's also on my sister's list cinnamon
I think she has bagsied Alice, Olivia or Emily though doesn't yet know the sex! Finn for a boy I think.

Honestly this woman has made me really cross/upset
In all my sales on NOTHS since 2009 I've never, ever had bad feedback. Disappointingly only 5% of customers actually leave feedback at all but I'm still proud of my record. I am just waiting for hers to come and put a big cloud over my name Sad
I have a huge collection of vile emails from her now and from nowhere really. She got her necklace and a sodding refund what more can she want?? She says she returned it for a different chain but nothing ever turned up and she didn't even tell me she'd returned it! So, 6weeks later she still can't prove postage and no doubt has the thing round her neck. There has been absolutely no need for her horridness and I have to be uber polite due to t&cs. Stupid conceited COW!!!!!!!!

SilverBirdie · 04/04/2013 22:13

Shan't moan again..... Sorry ladies Blush
