It's OK, I went for not saying anything in the end.

I agree that a wedding reception is a more than big enough place to not have to talk to anyone you don't want to. I also think that our breakup had nothing to do with friend 1 and shouldn't have had any bearing on the invites for his wedding reception. Ex is a knob.

There is a chance that friend 2 and Ex have lost touch and he won't be invited anyway so it might not be an issue - and I don't want to make it one by mentioning it if that's the case so I'm staying quiet.

Easiest all round :)

It's in September and yes it's child free. We've got MIL booked up to babysit and we might even book a hotel so that we can both have a drink without one of us having to drive home......from Nottingham Grin

I'd suggest a meet up but I'm not sure how we'd fit it in around the reception

It's not a venue at such. More of a function room in a pub - with lots of goths in it.

It's going to be like being back at uni again, I'm very excited Grin

It's close to the castle...

MrsHerculePoirot · 29/03/2012 23:01

Hello! Glad that you've sorted out your wedding invite - I would have said ignore it and just reply. It would probably be big enough that you can avoid each other too!

Lee good job on the getting the rooms sorted - do you feel much better for it?

My cm was away this week so DH had the day off on Monday and my parents had Immy for Tuesday and Wednesday and she stayed overnight on Tues. Our first night at home without her for over two years and what did we do? Sort out our study/tiny bedroom and spare bedroom for four hours! Did feel quite pleased with ourselves though afterwards...

AF has returned last week so back to normal here, I was excited first of all and then got a little emotional in the evening as I suddenly felt terrified it would happen again! I am fine now, but a bit more scared than I thought I would be. We are off on holiday for a week on Sunday, going to Scotland and bought Imogen a ladybird Trunki! I think she is going to love it!

Does anyone have any nice plans for Easter?

I expect the bride to wear black tbh.

Not the Sal. So close to Nottingham Castle that they share a name Wink

Oh blimey, the USA! I had a massive wobble a couple of weeks ago because they want to take Alex to the Zoo!!

He's too small to be going on a coach on his own and being 1 of 40-odd kids there...blah, blah, blah...

Then they asked me to be one of the parent helpers so I'm Ok with it now Grin

We had another first today. Alex asked me if I would make him another egg hunt this year, just like last year. It was the first time he's shown that he properly remembers something like that that I've done for him and it really made me smile. Looks like those happy memories I was trying to make are happening after all Grin

Of course! Wink

Blatherskite · 06/04/2012 21:45

He's been asking about the egg hunt again today adding "Mummy, you do lovely things for me" just to make sure he's tugged enough heartstrings to get some extra chocolate thrown in Wink

Hello! Just catching up.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 06/04/2012 23:32

Hi all, sorry not been on for ages. Blathers, think you did the right think about the wedding. We had a similar situation a few years back, with my ex, but luckily all was fine and civilised and we were clearly the more popular coupleGrin
All here ok, my dad was released last week, so that's good news. Anna brhaving a bit better, still hard work, but I guess that's just toddlers!
Still TTC no news yet though, AF appeared a few weeks ago so hopefully settling down again.
Hope you all have nice stuff planned over Easter!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 11/04/2012 21:30

Crikey, it's quiet on here! ConfusedGrin

Blatherskite · 11/04/2012 21:34

It sure is Sad

Good news about your Dad and AF, hopefully things will be getting back to normal and you'll have some good news for us soon. My Sis had a new baby last week and I have to say I'm not the least bit broody which is good news as we're done with having babies now.

We've had a very busy Easter holiday - especially today! I've just put a load of photos on FB

Hi everyone - had a lovely easter thanks and have also eaten too much chocolate. Having been away on holiday, then had relatives staying for a few days I've been really rubbish. I do have however, grand plans to sort myself out from tomorrow...

Ethel, glad to hear that your dad is out now, hope he is OK and things can be resolved fully.

Hope the weather gets nice again soon!!!

MrsHerculePoirot · 12/04/2012 21:52

I nearly forgot! Immy did a poo in the potty this evening!!!! She's been talking about getting some knickers with spots on so today we went to the shops and bought her some which she was excited about. She has been saying that she wants to buy knickers in the shop and that she will wear them when she is a big girl, but that now she wants to still wear nappies.

Anyway, bought them and after tea when DH came home, she proudly showed him her purchases and then asked to wear some knickers so she put them and we just played near the potty and when her eyes watered (as hers do as a poo arrives!) we got her to run to the potty and she did her poo! She was so excited 'look daddy, look mummy' over and over again!!! She wanted to wear her knickers to bed and said she would wear them again tomorrow, but we are going out for the day so it might have to wait until our return!!! I think we still have some way to go and tbh I was planning on waiting until half term to blitz it so we shall see how she goes... the novelty may well wear off in a few days!!!
