Hello, October Mamas!
Make yourselves comfortable.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TribbleTuckandDismount · 23/09/2012 11:51

We have yet to explore the world of plates Ood, but we get dragged to the kicthen for biscuits on a semi regular basis.

Also, after over a year of refusing fruit ds has been eating slices of apples the past two weeks. The praise he gets is beyond estastic!

OodHousekeeping · 23/09/2012 13:27

Dd3 is very keen on food. Very capable with a fork and spoon better than dd2 at 11 and doesn't waste a bit. She likes to do it properly (hence the plate). Eats practically everything. Just had two portions of stew for lunch with half a jacket potato and a dumpling!

She doesn't have a lot of words though so I think that's where her focus went!

SunsetsandSeagulls · 23/09/2012 17:58

When we started BLW, DD ate practically everything apart from carrots. Then for the last few weeks she's been refusing most veg and existing on fruit. On Friday she ate boiled carrots!!! ( they were purple ones) and she's just eaten broccoli marinaded in lemon juice, oil and thyme. I am delighted!

Well done to your DS for eating apple Trib!

DD's been fairly slow on the speech too Ood, in the last 2 weeks we've been on holiday she's really expanded her vocal though and is keen to repeat words and learn them. Oddly, she can say shoes (has been for a while) but can only say ock, not sock....

WWVegansD- I hope you're having a lovely time in Scotland although I'd imagine there's a fair amount of battening down the hatches in this weather and for you both, Ood and Trib. Talking of you too, how're the pregnancies going?

OodHousekeeping · 23/09/2012 18:09

Shouting 'tea* is a big favourite here Hmm
Don't want you to think I'm being smug about the food thing. Dd2 only eats 8 different things so it's relief!

Pregnancy going very slowly here. 15 weeks tomorrow though I'm sceptical about how accurate the dates were as it was worded as 'about 9 weeks ' at my last scan. Not happy with the hospital so far as I didn't get a 12 week scan and consultant ( well a minion) told me to come back at 34 weeks (from9 ) and the MW had to over ride them as they are my only antenatal care and the MWs all remember me from last time

OodHousekeeping · 23/09/2012 18:11

Weather ok yesterday and today actually. Was wild in the week though. Have been prepping the garden for winter and summer didn't come :(

busyprocrastinating · 23/09/2012 21:38

Just popping in as I'd lost you all.
Dd, after eating anything on her plate, is now starting to turn her nose up at things. She speaks constantly and sings lots of songs is lovely to hear but my ears hurt by bedtime Grin

This last week has really felt like autumn. It is getting me in the mood for Christmas though and I have started shopping and ordered an elf for elf on a shelf which I discovered on here. Can't wait! Bought dd's main pressie today. I need to rein myself and remind myself I've got to sort her birthday first.

Glad you've had a nice holiday sunny.
WW just saw pictures from the wedding on fb you look great and your dd so cute.
Ood glad the midwife stepped in for you. Hope everything goes well. Have you told your other dd's yet?

OodHousekeeping · 24/09/2012 07:42

Yes told them a couple of weeks ago. Dd2 told the whole town and dd1 is worried I'll get a wheelchair . Dd3 knew before them and likes to look at my tummy.

SunsetsandSeagulls · 24/09/2012 19:04

Ood, you don't sound smug at all Smile I guess kids will be what they'll be and they're all different re food.
Sorry to hear your ante natal care is leaving a lot to be desired. It's frustrating.
BP I feel the same as you ref Christmas!

OodHousekeeping · 24/09/2012 19:11

Thanks Sunset!

We've been looking at Xmas stuff and dd3 is not convinced on this strange man bringing presents. Just keeps pointing at pics of Father Xmas!
Though she's not convinced she's having a birthday , just dd2 and Daddy have birthdays ( both been this month!)

busyprocrastinating · 24/09/2012 20:21

Sorry meant sunset not sunny and your ds WW not dd. Oops!
Grin at your dd2 telling everyone ood.

SunsetsandSeagulls · 25/09/2012 19:01

Sunny's good too!

Hope everyone's homes are ok in the bad weather.

OodHousekeeping · 25/09/2012 19:22

Spent a lot of time queuing to drive down flooded roads but otherwise ok!

MonsterBookOfTysons · 25/09/2012 19:25

MonsterBookOfTysons · 25/09/2012 19:41

:o Hi HJ, Nice name, Ood is kind of catchy :o

TribbleTuckandDismount · 25/09/2012 19:45

I'm so confused as to who everyone is.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 25/09/2012 19:51

Trib I know you! :o
I am Ty Wink

TribbleTuckandDismount · 25/09/2012 20:22

Ood who was shield? I can't recall.

I know who vegans is and sunset is the one with the tres fab piccy of her and DH from that well known place.

OodHousekeeping · 25/09/2012 20:27

shieldbug can't remember if she was something else before. Seems a long time ago.

TribbleTuckandDismount · 25/09/2012 20:30

Ooooohhhh no I think she's always been shield.

TribbleTuckandDismount · 25/09/2012 20:31

I know you've seen me on FB with the nappy habit, but honestly you really don't know the half of it Blush. I recently managed to name one as well. I am actually pretty proud of that one as its such a cool print.

OodHousekeeping · 25/09/2012 20:37

I've seen the competition ones you sometimes link to, was it one of those?

TribbleTuckandDismount · 25/09/2012 20:52

Maybe, the most recent one was a comp for a voucher (which I won!) Grin. I try not to be one of those people as I know it can become a bit tiresome. I hope I haven't bugged people with anything. Blush

SunsetsandSeagulls · 25/09/2012 21:06

What was the name of the print Trib? No, you're not tiresome Smile. Hope your DS is feeling better. DD has it for 3 weeks in Aug 11. Everytime I thought she was ok a new blister would appear. I was paranoid about taking her out and about too early in case some unsuspecting pregnant lady or small baby got it, so we were like an old fashioned quarantine house!

Glad you're ok Ood.

Well, I've kept up with the name changes but I have no idea who this WhatWouldVegansDo bird is.....I'm pretty sure no one on here has mentioned veganism....

Your DD's bday treat sounds good Ty Smile.

OodHousekeeping · 25/09/2012 21:06

No it's not that many. I have a couple of nappy addicts though so often see conversations between them/same links. I block people if they annoy me
