Hello, October Mamas!
Make yourselves comfortable.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NoHunIntended · 17/07/2012 23:05

Thanks, Huggy. Me, I don't mind forgetting it's my birthday, would gladly let my birthday child have their day all to themselves.
Thanks for all the sparkly baby dust .

I love talking baby names! Would go for Moon-Unit (note the hyphen!) but I don't like matching initials, so all M names are out. Shame! Actually, we do have our names sorted, for both a girl and a boy, with several extra loved names if there are quad girls, but not loads more if it's twin boys or more, so here's hoping for a singleton boy, b/g twins or girls one-four! :) Top Secret though, sorry! But once we have our second (or multiples!), I will divulge if anyone's interested!

ft, have you definitely shut up shop? Or just taking a break?

We've a girls name but no boys (again!) got ages yet anyway. My last two didn't get names chosen until after they were born anyway!

busyprocrastinating · 18/07/2012 21:02

Wow congratulations on all the pgs. Very happy for you all, if a little bit Envy I'm coming to join you rolling in the baby dust if that's ok nohun. We've been trying for ages and then have had a complete nightmare at work as they have been complete twunts. I was all for walking out but dh and common sense have dictated I stay and get at least another maternity pay off them! So really really trying now Grin
I love name talk too. Got a girl and boys sorted but even dh doesn't know them yet!

I have been reading but my laptop has broken- thanks to dd- so haven't posted for ages.
Huggy your dd is doing really well with the toilet training. I don't think dd is ready for it yet.

We are off on hols this weekend. We can't afford it and dd will be interesting sitting still on a plane but after work upset me and the lack of summer sun this year I thought sod it and booked one.

Loving seeing all the pictures of your Los on fb. They are all so cute and getting so big! And very jealous of the girls with hair! Dd still gets mistaken for a boy all the time.

TribbleWithoutACause · 18/07/2012 22:36

We have ideas of names, but I'm always open to new ones. The thing is I think ds has a pretty good name (IMO, obviously won't be everyone's cup of tea) so I need names in a similar vein.

I quite like Seth or Jasper at the moment. I think they're not as used as they could be, but can't think of any others. I just like names that are a bit uncommon but would ok in a professional situation. I also like nicknamable names, I didn't have one as a kid. I suffered immensely Wink.

NoHunIntended · 19/07/2012 02:32

bp, come roll with me!

Sorry to hear about the nightmare at work. Been there, done that, got the payoff! :)
We also had laptop issues, not really DS's fault as I should not have had the bubble bottle near it. Oops.
Where are you off to on holiday? Have a great time.

DS gets mistaken for a girl! Even with his small amount of hair! And people don't think he is mine, as he is so fair, and I am so not!

Are you sharing names on here? DH suggested our potential boy's name (DS's was my idea, DH came up with his middle). I really love it. We are totally on the same page. Easy! My girl's name I have loved since the eighties. Ran it by DH when we were first dating, deal-breaker if he didn't like it! :) Luckily he loves it. He has come up with a perfect middle name, so here's hoping.

Trib, a friend of mine has a Seth, it's a great name, though I don't think she wants it getting too popular! :) I think both Jasper and Seth work with your son's name, though Seth doesn't really lend itself easily to a nn. I like nicknamable names, is very key with our thinking. I love DS's name as he can use a mainstream name if he wants to, there are loads of options.

Jasper was ours last time. I like it but was never 100% iyswim

HaitchJay · 19/07/2012 16:51

Had GP appt.BP on the low side now which is what happened in previous pregnancies & I had to come off meds.

Got hospital letter has to rearrange so will now be between 9 & 13 weeks when I go. They told me to see my MW earlier if there's a problem and didn't seem to understand that I don't have one. They kept saying everyone has one!
They also said GP can refer for an earlier scan to date but I'm not sure. If I'd known before this ams appt I would have but am not sure about phoning and asking.

TribbleWithoutACause · 19/07/2012 19:33

HJ Nowt wrong with a phone call, it would probably help set your mind at ease.

HaitchJay · 19/07/2012 19:56

Will ring tomorrow if I can excape children's ear shot for long enough!

HaitchJay · 20/07/2012 13:24

GP referred me for a scan, just need to wait now

NoHunIntended · 20/07/2012 17:34

Great, hope you get word soon.

HaitchJay · 22/07/2012 13:33

Any of the newly pregnant people still bf? It's really hurting at the moment and dd3 keeps twiddling ( think due to the drop in supply).

HaitchJay · 23/07/2012 19:06

Got a scan for Thursday.

HuggyPomBear · 23/07/2012 21:54

Good news HJ.

I can imagine the bring could be troublesome. My friend was bottle fed because her mother bf'd her older sister and all the way through being pg with my friend and didn't want to bf my friend as it had all felt too much when she was pg Sad. That said my friend has alway been healthier than her sister...

HaitchJay · 24/07/2012 13:19

I've been lurking on the March 2013 thread until I know a EDD and just seen shieldbug, so that's at least 3 of this thread due then!

And who is it that's just announced a baby on FB? I'm not good at matching us up on there!

TribbleWithoutACause · 24/07/2012 18:56

HJ Once in a very blue moon and even then it's just a bit of comfort.

HuggyPomBear · 24/07/2012 20:27

Silversky's just had her second.

Does anyone elses's toddler do the following:
Open cupboards and methodically empty them
Open drawers and get everything out
Snake a little hand over kitchen and bathroom counters to grab anything in reach and BONUS! if it's toothpaste or make up.

My colleague who has a 5 year old was surprised that my toddler was 'so naughty' and said she was very strict which was why her daughter was so well behaved and never did anything like that. Does anyone else have a pillager, or is it just my child?!

HaitchJay · 24/07/2012 21:04

Thanks Huggy!

Y to the toddler emptying drawers thing. I think it's normal Hmm I've not met one who didn't if they had the chance.
Dd3 likes to empty the fridge & eat as much as possible,

HuggyPomBear · 24/07/2012 21:19

Oh yes! I forgot about the fridge!

NoHunIntended · 24/07/2012 21:42

Mine climbs up the fridge! :)

Our toddlers are not naughty! They are inquisitive adventurous explorers, and a load of fun.

OP posts:
HuggyPomBear · 24/07/2012 22:17

That's what I thought. It was her shocked expression that made me pause! Dd makes me laugh every day. Smile

TribbleWithoutACause · 24/07/2012 22:30

Ds likes to climb into the fridge, hide under the stairs (he actually closes the door), empty the cupboards (and then walk through/on the debris) and hide my personal possessions in secret places.

His record is still three whole days of falling to reveal the location of my iPod and dh's phone. Grin

Chaos reigns, if I can teach him sarcasm before the age of three and a bit I fully expect he will rule the nursery with an iron fist.

NoHunIntended · 24/07/2012 22:32

Mine loves to hide things. I find potatoes all over the place!

OP posts:
HaitchJay · 25/07/2012 07:41

Y potatoes are fun here too!
