Artem in a pantomime? Did he have his shirt on though!!

I am ridiculously excited about the final tonight! I would like chelsee to win. I like harry Mcfly album was the first thing dh ever bought me when we first started seeing each other but I can't stand Aliona. I love kristina she is gorgeous but Jason has annoyed me over the last few weeks and I don't know why.

Dad has been here since Sunday. as much as I love him dearly I need my house back. there are bags of tools every where a makeshift kitchen in the dining room. I haven't had a conversation with dh for nearly a week! I think he's going home today. One last coat of paint and we are done!

Snows on again!!

Starshaped · 17/12/2011 09:32

Jason wants it a little bit too much. He's a bit, well, desperate. I'm rooting for Chelsee too - I think she's a beautiful dancer. I might even go as far as voting tonight!

We've got The Killing 2 on our Sky Plus box, along with Pan Am and about 100 other things. Loved the first series, just need to get round to watching this one.

No snow here today. Boo!

AliBellandthe40jingles · 17/12/2011 09:53

Oh no I love Jason, I really want him to win. This has nothing to do with the fact that I had posters of him all over my bedroom once upon a time, nothing Xmas Wink

I am ill, both the boys are ill. DH is the least ill but hamming it up a little Hmm They were tag-teaming being awake all night, so we're all exhausted today.
Loads to do though, need to finish the last few cards and get them in the post, tackle the wrapping mountain, make mince pies, and go to the farm shop for cheese.

ILike - I realise I have been slack at posting on this thread and didn't wish you a happy birthday, hope you had a good time! :)

DairyBeetle · 17/12/2011 10:11

Happy (belated) birthday to those that have celebrated! Wine

My SS has finally arrived, been wrapped and is now winging it's way through Royal Mail. Fingers crossed it gets to it's destination quickly!

Cycle congratulations to your friend!

Fizz I hope the paint is looking good now the extra coats are on and you get your house back soon.

Ali hope the lurgy leaves you all soon and that naps are had in the meantime.

Chilli we've another paper eater here. I've purposely bought wrapping paper that is more foil like so that a) S can't eat it and b) we get to watch him go mental with it. He loves the shiny stuff!

Arch what a lovely surprise, I hope you find something utterly lovely to treat your self to.

And finally, YAY for Strictly final day! The first and last episodes are always the ones that I overule DH's tv remote domination and watch live (the iPlayer just isn't the same). I'm stocked up with (fake) Baileys and chocolate, because it wouldn't be right without it!

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 17/12/2011 10:26

Ali so did I have posters! Life size one on the ceiling above my bed [flush]

AussieMum2Be · 17/12/2011 15:19

Ali Hope your all feeling better, farm shop for cheese, sounds good !! I pick mine up at Sainsburys :( occasionally at food markets when we get to them. I loovvvee cheese !

Fizz I feel for ya on the dad front, every time i go home, after a few weeks i need a break from my ma, its like being 15 again everytime i go home, hopefully this time with DI, she will realise i am a capable adult now !

Ilike Hope you had a wonderful Bday !

Mrs Wajs No teeth here yet either at almost 8months, i love her little gummy smile !

JKS Is it super hard with just a 20month gap ? what would you think is an ok gap, we were thinking of trying in another couple of months, but now it seems so soon and i cant imagine sharing my time with DI with another little one but dont want a big gap !

Chilli ahh Mega Naps where you actually run out of things to get done are sooo nice ! Hope you had a fantastic birthday.

Cycle Congrats to your friend, hope she & bubba are doing well !

Kitty Hope ya enjoying the sleeping thru !

Star Very jealous of your snow !

Arch That is lovely, hope you spend it on something lovely for yourself, nice mani/pedi, back massage perhaps !! ahhh, thats my favourite way to treat myself ! Re Hubby Bday, mine this year did nothing, picked up a card & flowers that morning, we had only has DI 3 weeks but i had been talking about my bday for ages (I love my bday), so i say no excuse's. But i cant help myself, i plan to do nothing back as punishment but i physically cant ! I end up doing all the things i would have like to have had on my bday, and end up really enjoying it ! Unfortunatly DP doesnt seem to get guilts about not doing the same back for me, he just enjoys his day, none the wiser !

We received DI's secret santa this morning, 3 lovely little gifts for her, all beautifully wrapped in pink snowy penquin paper, they r now sitting under the tree, until opening day ! R we opening Xmas Day all ? So Thank You SS, we r both very excited already !!

Sent off mine a few days ago, so hopefully recipient has received it ! Got DI's passport application sent off, I hope ive left enought time, 7 weeks till i go home to Sydney for 2 months, im beyond excited !!! The only crap part will be the 24hour flight in economy, which going over i will have DP but on the way back, its just DI & me ! Then a month after im back, ill probably be finally back at work, which im not remotely looking forward too !! But still sun, beach & family for 2 months, yay !

We put up lights around the lounge room yesterday and putting up the tree today, i have been trying to get it up for 2 weeks now but we have just been so busy !

Bought DI's xmas pressies, got a Fisher Price animal train thing, a pink vtech baby laptop and a bead frame, so i dont think i went as overboard as i could have. We r going to get a massive wooden ruler child height board for DI's 1st bday (missed the xmas order deadline) it starts from 50cm so we can start tracking DI's height, i always seem them do that in movies, & want to do it too !

Also found a place that does hand painted personalised wooden name plaques which i also missed xmas deadline for so will get for 1st bday . I dont think we will ever find signs with Dylan-Indianna on them !!

A lady at my mummys coffee group came in with this carrier called a hippychick baby carrier, its to help carry ya little un on your hip. I bought one on ebay for £6, its great and so comfy for carrying DI when she is just in the mood for stand up cuddles !! (which we have to do a lot of) she just doesnt like ya to sit down for cuddles, gotta be standing !! Check it out: www.hippychick.com/index.cfm/product/hippychick-hipseat-15

My AF finally returned, only very minimal but after all the talk on here, ive decided to try out this Mooncup thingy, i quite like the idea it being reusable after being a total converted cloth nappy enthusiast ! Also seems like a healthier option then tampons !

Well, DI has been asleep for an hour, so its been nice catching up on you all ! I reckon i might get another hour so im off to make a victoria sponge ! Diet to start after Xmas !! I put on a stone since having DI !! Didnt gain a kilo during pregnancy and was a stone lighter after having DI and now back up to my now overweight pre-pregnancy weight !! Damn, i wish i didnt like cake so much, would really like to slim down a little before hitting the beaches at home in Feb !!

Have a fantastic weekend all, if ya made it to the end of my humongous post !!

PS Ecuse How were your Underwater pics ? I cant wait for ours to arrive, we got a big metallic print copy & the digitals !

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 17/12/2011 18:48

15 minutes until Glitter Ball time Xmas Grin!

Dad has gone home thank the Lord paint looks much better now!

I'm having Baileys and caramel shortbreads, then tomorrow starts the countdown to the big day!

GsyGacheFiend · 18/12/2011 01:58

Just back from the work Christmas do, also went onto see a local cover band afterewards called Fade to Grey who do 80's electro pop covers. Had a good old boogie Xmas Grin.

Now I just have to try and avoid finding out whodunnit in the last 2 episodes of the Killing (it's just as good as the first series Star,if not better) until I can watch it tomorrow night, oh and the Strictly winner.

Ali Hope you all get well soon. I was the proud owner of a Kylie and Jason jumper which had photos of their faces in lovehearts and said "I Love Kylie & Jason", God I think I practically lived in that jumper until the picture was so faded you could hardly see it Xmas Blush

Ilike I don't know about over there but here all hire cars have a yellow H sign attached to them. Until I was about 8 or 9 I thought the H stood for horror as that's what my dad and most of the locals called them. The speed isn't the main issue as there isn't much chance to do it. The worst offenders are those who don't read the A4 sheet which details additional highway code guides for Guernsey such as the fact that we don't have such a thing as box junctions. At most junctions/crossroads there are yellow lines which look similar and say filter. They are called filter in turns as that's exactly what you do, take it in turns to cross the junction in each direction. I bet many mainlanders wonder why they get such dirty looks when they pull out behind another car. It's because they havn't waited their bleeding turn Angry. There's also only 1 roundabout on the island (and 2 mini ones) so most locals don't have a clue how to use them properly. I have to close my eyes if i'm in the car with my Dad as he never indicates on them. Wing mirrors are also over rated, they get scratched/knocked off at regular intervals as the roads are so narrow.

As for the panto, no, I'm afraid Artem didn't get his shirt off, but sadly I don't think he should give up the day job, his acting skills were rather lacking. Bless him.

Started the present wrapping the other night and realised I'd forgotton to buy the vital accompanyment - BAILEYS. Mum saw the look of abject horror on my face when I realised and has promised me an early bottle for Christmas.

Aussie My mooncup arrived last week in a lovely red parcel with a Christmas tree address label. I guess nothing says Merry Christmas to yourself like a festive mooncup.

Right I'd better go and get ready for bed and sleep off the Wine before DS decides to wake up at silly o'clock, helped by the fact that he has to eat his breakfast before he's allowed his advent calender. This morning he ran in just after 6 shoting "I want my cornflakes NOW Mummy, it's morning" Xmas Hmm

GsyGacheFiend · 18/12/2011 08:24

Not bad, managed to get until 7.45. Feeling a little delicate this morning though

Starshaped · 18/12/2011 08:48

I'm impressed with the legibility of your post last night GGF. I'm not sure I would be quite as fluent if I was under the influence!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/12/2011 19:51

2 months in the sun Aussie, no, I'm not jealous at all, nope, no indeedy, I am not Envy

I lol'd at mention of your Kylie & Jason jumper Gache Grin, I think maybe you should have kept that one to yourself Grin

Baby I is sort of crawling, I think by Christmas his technique may have a bit more finesse as at the moment it's a sort of half rolling/commando crawl hybrid.

Is Frakk in the country yet? Do you think she has murdered any well meaning (but no less annoying) relatives yet?!

Cyclebump · 19/12/2011 10:25

Am in panic mode! Haven't sorted any presents and am in denial that Christmas is so close. Aaaaaargh!

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 19/12/2011 12:06

Just wait til new year cycle. chances are anything you buy this week will be half price next week! Although amazon sale has started and today the last day for Christmas delivery apparently!

ecuse · 19/12/2011 13:28

Hello lovely ladies and happy birthday to all recent birthdayites (and happy birthday to me today!) Having a lovely day so far - DP got up either J at 6.30am and I got a lie in until 10!! Now having a nice coffee whilst we wait for DP to have his hair cut. This is monumental as he hasn't had a haircut in 20 years (honestly) Ever since I've known him he's had a ponytail down his back but he's receding slightly and has declared he will not be sporting the Terry Nutkin so off it comes. It's his Christmas present to his dad as well, who has been telling him to get a haircut since he was 16. I'm a bit worried - what if he looks like a knob with short hair?!?

aussie we have just gone with a print but yes, it's beautiful!! Just like the Nirvana baby!

Feeling quite festive since Friday when we put our tree up. Last week was manic as we were rearranging the whole flat. We relocated dp'd workshop from our living room yo the (unusually large) hallway so that the living room can be a baby proof zone now she's mobile. Had the raddled tatty disgusting carpets cleaned too do we can put her down on the floor without a mat! Bloody rental property. Wish my flat would sell so we can move at last :-( . We're still in the one bed DP and I moved into together and waiting for my previous place yo sell so we can get a family house. It's been on the market nearly a year!! Never thought we'd still be here by this xmas. Anyone want yo buy a tiny studio flat in Stoke Newington?! It's not so bad really cause we love the flat we're in and rent is a bargain which helps on ML income levels but I yearn for space! And I want a nursery to decorate!!

Sorry that was epic. Better go. Off to one o clock club for a play. Sorry for typos. Stupid phone stupid auto correct.

MrsWajs · 19/12/2011 13:35

Ugh think we are heading into teething/feeding hell again just in time for Christmas :(

R back to feed refusing again, mainly her 12 & 4pm bottles. She's almost 8mo so was expecting to lose a feed about now but not two!! She's teething again too and its the bottom from teeth so think that might be contributing to not wanting bottles. Trying not to stress about it too much and just feeding her up with solids and trying to make sure she drinks enough from her cup (nappies were a bit drier than usual yesterday) it's not going to do her any harm that she's taking a little bit less milk (you should see the thighs on her) but I don't want her getting dehydrated and poorly.

Anyone got any suggestions/advice/tips??

Finished my Christmas shopping yesterday Xmas Grin Thank god!! DP is planning to do his on Friday this week stupid fool

Bloody tree lights fused the day after we put the tree up and I can't find the spare bulbs!! The prospect of having to buy a new set and re-decorate the whole tree again is giving me palpitations!! I think we might just cope with no lights!!

R had her first settling in day at nursery today and was fab, despite me sleeping in!! She ate some playdough, did a poo and didn't cry once!! I'd call that a fair result I think! Taking her again tomorrow avo and will be leaving her alone for the hour Hmm Sure she'll be fine

MrsWajs · 19/12/2011 13:36

x-posts Ecuse and Happy Birthday (I just noticed that on fb too) :)

MrsWajs · 19/12/2011 13:41

Ohh and I should suggest that everyone gets themselves down to primark for a nice pair of skinny jeans - I managed to shoehorn my fat arse into a pair of 10's yesterday and I'm most definaitely not a size 10 in any other shop!! And a bargain at £9 too :) Was tempted to leave the sticky "10" label on the front of them but thought that might be taking it a little far!!?

AliBellandthe40jingles · 19/12/2011 21:23

Hello everyone! We are all still full of the snuffles and coughs here. DS1 is definitely on the mend properly now though, it is poor T who is suffering the most. He is teething as well so the amount of snot and drool etc being produced is quite phenomenal. Poor child's face is awash with fluids constantly Grin and :(
I am just wheezing, gotta love being asthmatic in December. Not Xmas Hmm

My SS parcel arrived! I am going to try very hard not to peek Xmas Grin

MrsW - just get fluids in by whatever means. Can you add more liquid to anything she is eating? Or get her to eat melon/pear etc which are quite watery? I think that is all you can do really, if she doesn't want the milk then she doesn't want it. If she will eat a yoghurt and then have a drink of water then do that.

Happy Birthday ecuse :)

GsyGacheFiend · 19/12/2011 23:06

Happy birthday ecuse Wine Grin

kittycatcat · 20/12/2011 09:27

Happy birthday for yesterday ecuse

S is teething too so waking a few times in the night. So far he seems to be going back to sleep with his music

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 20/12/2011 09:41

That's 2 nights in a row B has slept right through 8-6.30 Xmas Grin

Hope you had a great day ecuse.

We have the dentist this afternoon ! I have a feeling B will not be very co-operative when they try to look in his mouth, but hey, I'm sure they will be used to it!!

Quick trip to Aldi for some fake Baileys and sprouts and then I think I'm done with the shopping!! Wooo Hoooo!!

MrsWajs · 20/12/2011 09:42

The tooth has landed!!!!! Yay Xmas Grin I'm maybe slightly over reacting as it's only just broken through but I'm so bloody excited!!

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 20/12/2011 09:44

Whoop! All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!

Forgot to say Bs SS arrived at the weekend! It's under the tree, way at the back out of my reach!!

Starshaped · 20/12/2011 09:53

Envy at B's sleeping antics Fizz. P only woke once last night but it was for two hours. Yawn...

Yay for a tooth MrsW! The drooling has paid off!

Have we got a checklist of whose SS pressies have arrived? I posted mine on Thursday but I don't recall anybody mentioning it's arrived yet (although I may well have missed it). Am a little bit worried because I posted a parcel to a friend at the same time and she texted me the next day to say that it had arrived. Can you tell I don't trust the post much?!

P is a little monster at the moment- really trying to pull up on things. Nothing in the living room is safe anymore. Argh! I miss being able to plonk her down and nip out the room!

MrsWajs · 20/12/2011 10:41
