Im dead pissed off, my £28 jeans i brought from Red Herring maternity have split where the bump band meets the jeans, i havent got my receipt but i think i brought them on my card, i do hope they exchange them, the nearest debennams is weymouth which is 3/4 hr away, i feel like making them send them to me. memphis83 · 31/08/2011 09:07

Vik I spoke to him last night, he said he is trying hard to gain my trust again and he is so humiliated because I insisted on telling everyone to shame him, he isnt touching pints again he hardly drinks anyway so just spend some of his money and make him grovel for a bit longer plus im getting very drunk this week, Iwas going to drive but now I think I need to drink wine and lots of it!
cakes ASDA calpol doesnt have any of the e numbers that are in calpol, it does have 2 different ones in it though and then apart from those it contains glucose and pain killer.

I have managed two naps now with no dummy, do i dare try tonight??
Also is it ever so wrong to let D dig in the dirt?? It keeps him so quiet!

vik L plays in puddles, dirt the lot he sits down the side of mums conservatory with a dustpan playing for hours its his den!
mlic I went to a softplay hell the other weeks and it was £5 for L and £1.50 for me and it was shit and full of chavs! that bouncy castle is amazing!! Im not showing dh he will want one!

I have had a very odd day, went to get myself trainers they didnt have my size so I bought L some instead, then went John Lewis to look for a new 4 wheeled stroller, the woman asked what was wrong with 3 wheeler said oh dh was messing about and it tipped hurting L so she looked on system and then gave me a refund in vouchers, I didnt go to complain, in my eyes dh was an idiot so its his fault but she said a child got hurt and wouldnt take no for an answer! the reason I couldnt get another is I went to draw money out of dh's account and it swallowed card, then mine!! Shock his bank said someone has found his bank card this morning that he lost a year ago so stopped this one too then as cctv in the shopping center flagged up different name same person at machine they swallowed mine too in case of fraud, so I have no phone credit, on the red in petrol and was meant to do food shop today! Mum is coming over to give me wages early!

I dont know if my bank said that as a way of covering up there fuck up because they wouldnt give me money without passport or licence so I think they were passing the buck, they did give me all the money for the stroller just that all the ones I picked they also didnt have them in stock!
Its my mums birthday soon too and we were getting a family picture done but my sister left it too late to do so mow im stuck with nothing to get her sowill be watching for ideas too!

memphis83 · 31/08/2011 17:16

Goodness its quiet on here!
mylife thats cool man! Looks massive though, wheres it going to go?
memp thats a hell of a day, shame the refund didnt come in cash. No experience of M&P pushchairs but remember people complaining about their customer service.
D's just had his 4th poo of the day today, and he has a sore bum bless him, dh has just suggested that maybe we are feeding him too much cake we need a survey so i can compare, need to know about dummys and how much food babies are eating.
Right, bath time...............
And i didnt post! bath time and bed time have been and gone without a hitch, DH is out tonight, poor D's bum is so sore bless him, must give him some nappy off time tomorrow. I did give him a dummy tonight as he was a bit out of sorts with his teeth, wouldnt even have teething powder tonight and only had 3oz of milk.
Im feeling a bit bleuuuuuuggghhhh today, i dont really know why, just a bit fed up and lonley really. My folks are coming down next week for the first time since last november, it would have been nice for my sister or my brother to have come down during that time but they havent made it. In fact my brother has only been down twice in the 6 years we have been here, i think thats a bit shit seen as though his wifes brother and sister live in london and they have been there countless times, at least 5-6 times A YEAR! I just feel a bit let down by my family really. We do go up to brum loads but if we didnt no one would ever see Devon, dh's mom has only been twice as well and come to think of it i think my sister has only been 3-4 times. Am i expecting too much i wonder? DH is out at football tonight and out for a drink tomorrow and i dont have anyone to go out for a drink with down here, well i do but only very occasionally and they are all busy with their friends and family who all live here.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i must stop, im sorry, im just being miserable. :-(

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/08/2011 20:32

memphis you're lucky the woman in the shop was so insistant, I had a bit of a crap experience in Zara today, bought some jeans last week and went to take them back as they are of the 'ripped' variety but when I tried them on at home one of the ripped parts had completely come undone exposing my entire knee and just didnt look right. I had the receipt and the jeans still had all the original tags on. First she had to check with her manager that it was ok to do a refund, then tried to pursuade me to exchange instead of refund (I didnt want to thinking the same thing would happen to a new pair) then when I had to sign for the refund the back of my visa card didnt have a signature (I know its my fault really) and she had to have proof of signature, luckily I had my driving licence but she got all snotty saying I had to sign my card and made me do it there and then with some crappy biro which wouldnt work so now my signature on the card looks a state.

I used to love Zara...

viksam · 31/08/2011 21:03

DH another example of the excellent customer service we constantly recieve in this country. I think John Lewis is one of the only stores i have recieved consistantly excellent service, and waitrose, but i unfortunatly dont have enough dosh to shop at these places very often!!

dh that is awful! I worked for Mothercare and I would never ever buy a large item from there because they wont care if its faulty, I usually hate John Lewis but they were excellent, shame there is nothing else I want from there to spend the vouchers think we will get xmas presents with it, im going to look in Kiddicare tomorroe for a stroller but cant buy one until next week as we wont get cards until Saturday! Thank goodness dh took money out at ATM at 5am this morning his card was stopped my 9am and with no proper ID on him he wouldnt have had food or hotel money!
vik where abouts are you now then, forgot to say that I live in Leicester so not far from Brum. myfamily are pretty rubbish apart from mum and sister, my brother lives 5 mins walk from my mum and she would only see him if she visits. dh's family never.fucking.stop.knocking on my door but they are usless and just stand there hovering or expect me to stop my life to make them tea!

Well its jut me and the woofer tonight, to save me driving 20 miles out of my way to drop L off before work mum has taken him for the night, feels weird, I was saying oh I should iron, clean etc but im going to just chill out and veg out!

MalibuStac · 31/08/2011 21:47

Evening all ladies

I've missed you's I know I've been about but my goodness I could have been doing with a hand holding today. I felt so old to start with (I'm the 2nd oldest in the classBlush). I was expecting that. Have to say it was good and mlic your right there was no need for nerves.

memphis I didn't realise dh had did that, hope you mega spend on his card. Great about stroller/refund.

viks maybe your family expect you to visit because you tend to do it so often. Not a decent reason right enough. How's your bump getting on?

mlic hope you and the boys are better soon. R would adore your bouncy castle.

dh that's shit of zara, sometimes its just the snooty staff though.

cakes how's things with you?

Sorry if I've missed anyone my heads not working Smile

CakeandRoses · 31/08/2011 22:40

well done on your first day stac! it'll be easier the next time. how was R?

what did you decide re dummy tonight vik? i haven't decided what to do about A's except to postpone any decisions until this tooth comes thru.

tbh, so many people's families (inc ours) leave something to be desired that it seems more normal to me now. very sad tho. my father and his step-mother are amazing so i just count myself lucky that we have someone to rely on.

they offered to have both children for the day and overnight on sat so dh and i can go out for our 2nd wedding anniversary but i still don't feel ready to leave A Blush. our friend's offered too, bless them. anyway my father will have F overnight and our friends will have A until we collect her when we get back.

dh has just booked tickets for batman at the o2. looks crazy!

that's excellent re the buggy memph. i love JL - why don;t you?

a friend had a luna and really liked it.

F was super-horrific today which is why i haven't been on - have either been keeping a beady eye on him or collapsed in the corner mainlining valium.

OP posts:
WhatSheSaid · 31/08/2011 22:51

Glad your first day went well stac

Well I feel like the shittest mum, pre-school have just talked to me again about A's speech, I've agreed to refer her for an appt with a speech therapist to be assessed - I just feel shit now that I haven't done this earlier. They can refer her direct from pre-school so I don't need to go the the GP or anything. Her vocab is great but it's becoming more obvious as she gets older that others aren't understanding what she's saying - she doesn't really finish all her words off. I wonder if this is partly why she's so reluctant to go to pre-school now as she's finding it hard to be understood. I just feel so shit that I've waited till now to do it, I jsut thought it would improve with time (though to be honest the teacher said to me about a few months ago that her speech was getting much better and not to worry about it).

seriously, don't be so hard on yourself wss. it's so hard to be objective with your own child's speech as you can understand them so much better than anyone else so it was natural for you to take the teacher's word for it that she was getting better.

she's still only tiny - it's not like she's 15 and still has an issue.

it sounds as though it must be something specific going on if her vocab is great - do you think it could be a hearing issue?

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 31/08/2011 23:22

Age? Closest to 13m, 13.5m or 14m?
13m

Walking?
Yes altho still prefers to crawl

Talking?
Not much really, F was talking lots more at this age. She says dada, mmmmama (occasionally), hello/hiya, ta and cat. the rest of it is just babbling and shrieking etc.

Says please and thank you (or words to that effect)?
She can say ta but is going thru an ill-mannered phase where she can't be arsed most of the time Hmm

Naps - when/how many?
1 from 11 til 1

Eating with a fork and/or spoon?
Yes, with a spoon on her own for a couple of months. haven't really bothered with a fork but she has used one now and again.

Responds to simple commands or questions such as 'give me that please' or 'where's your head?'
Yes, she'll pat her head when asked, the rest of it is more hit and miss. she'll start to play peekaboo the moment you say 'where's rella?'

Copying others?
Yes, she 'brrrrums' cars and trains back and forth like F does Smile. She's always cramping his style by swaying next to him joining in with whatever he's doing.

Points at objects?
Yes, especially the cat or if she wants her water.

Waves goodbye?
Yes, often slightly prematurely as if to say 'enough with the goodbyes, just bugger off now please'

Participates with nursery rhymes and songs?
Yes, she LOVES songs. Her fave is 'the skeleton dance' and 'if you're happy and you know it' she does the cutest dances to them and gets super-excited when she recognises the beginning of them.

Plays social games such as pat-a-cake, peek-a-boo?
yes, far too much stamina for peek-a-boo

Babbles 2 or 3 words repeatedly?
yes but not as much as F did, she makes lots of noise but it's more shrieks and grunts and old man 'urrghh's

Cooperates with dressing?
i wouldn't call it cooperating Hmm

Milk feeds (number and times)?
bedtime bf at 7.15pm, dreamfeed bf at 11.30pm, morning bf at 7amish

Meals/snacks (average amounts and types)?
9am 1 slice of toast and humous, half a banana, 2 breadsticks with humous. diluted fruit juice or water.

1pmish something like a bowl of stirfried noodles, peas/beans, veg, sesame seeds and teriyaki sauce, fruit or dried fruit bar. water.

4pm a few goodies crisps, raisins and a cracker. water.

5.30pm/6pm something like a plateful of veggie spag bol or veggie korma with rice. fruit puree or mashed banana with natural yoghurt. water.

Sleeping through? she has been known to but isn't again now teething. sigh...

Specialist skills or funny traits?
she's very excitable and does a crazy arms and legs freak-out at the slightest provocation - such as me pushing the pram out of the front door.

gives the best, squeeziest hugs especially when we collect her from nursery when she'll also smother us with noisy kisses 'mwah, mwah'

tbh, she is just lovely Smile

OP posts:
WhatSheSaid · 31/08/2011 23:25

I don't know, her hearing has always seemed fine to me, I guess it's one of the things they will test.

It has improved - 6 months ago if I said "Do you want the light on or off?"she would just say "O" and of course I didn't know if that meant on or off! Now she will clearly say On or off - the n and f sounds are there now. It's just at the end of words, she says them fine in the middle and beginning of words. Her "s" sound isn't very clear and consonants together (like "cl" in "clear") are hard for her to say.

It could take about 6 wks to get an appointment so I may go onto the speech and language section on here to see if there's anything we can be doing in the meantime.
I'll come back to the survey, my head's a bit full of this at the moment.

CakeandRoses · 31/08/2011 23:54

really try not to blame yourself or worry yourself sick about it. she's been improving and her teacher has seen that too. some children do just take a bit longer with certain things and she might be just starting that bit of development now.
