Calypso Im so sorry to hear about your mum, HT is so right, the things they can do now is amazing. Where is your mum now? Is it France? Big hugs to you, always here if you need an ear xxx

Hi to everyone else, cant stop.....more medals to be won! xx

AnastasiaGrey · 07/08/2012 15:07

Hi all

Calypso-I too am very sorry to hear your mum's news. Thinking of you all and wishing her well for the Chemo. xx

Still waiting for Matthew to talk properly. Did I mention that the HV tested him for any reason that may be affecting his speech but everything is OK. There is no reason so now on the waiting list to see a speech therapist.

Going on hols on Saturday in our caravan to Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Can't wait, am hoping the weather is nice for us.

Don't know what I will watch when the Olympics is over. Torch

Big wave!

HappyTangerine · 03/09/2012 21:31

Emerging from woodwork as requested Smile How is everyone?

Ok, news from here, J happy, smiling, still talking in only one word, sometimes now two word sentences. Still a wannabe gymnast, the Olympics really did NOT help! Favourite things are hats, cats, dinosaurs, fire engines and at the moment, Daddy. I'm aiming to get the school enrollment forms for next Sept sorted in the next week - am visiting a Forest School Primary to help me make the decision. I also need to make a decision about enrolling J in pre-school from next Jan I guess but still want to home ed. He has a smattering of freckles now and looks so cute! Potty training non starter at the mo but I am persisting.

Me-suffering from major mummy guilt re. the speech development and not doing enough entertaining things with him over the summer. Working a lot, loving the job but under constant pressure from dh to give it up as it is so backbreaking and the money is rubbish. Have made some fab friends there, don't feel so lonely anymore. Started yoga and really enjoying it. Never seem to have enough hours in the day. Reactivated my fb account.

AnastasiaGrey Thank you for keeping the thread going. Hope Sophie is ok now after accident. How is Matthew?

Fidelma -is your house super quiet now everyone is back at school? If too quiet, you can always get that dog your dh wants Wink Is Connor enjoying his new school?

Calypso - how is your mum doing? Very sorry to hear of your news. If she is in France receiving treatment, she is in an amazing place, it's now one of the best countries in the world for bc treatment. How are you coping with it all? I hope you have people you can lean on. I remember during my dad's cancer that I was so caught up in trying to keep the family chipper that I completely neglected my own emotions.

littlepea You must be back in the Emerald Isle by now, how are you all?! have you climbed Kili yet?

AnastasiaGrey · 03/09/2012 22:44

Lovely to hear from you HT Smile Please don't feel any guilt as I am with Matthew all the time and he still doesn't speak properly. Infact, he has his first speech therapy appointment on Wednesday so will let you know how he gets on.

Can't believe we have only one more day before school begins. Back to all those annoying play date requests! Potty training will start on Sunday so not looking forward to that at all!

Anyone else out there? Shall I organise a seance? Wink

Night all.

I am here.

we have a dog!!!!!! Look at my facebook page!

We have had a lovely summer. 2weeks in the remote west cost of Scotland.Great food and time together,a trip to Balamory!

5 weeks at home just hanging out or the dc doing some amazing summer courses.

A week in London at my Dads (all of us) Legoland,Eye,The palace,Lion King and China town. It was the dcs first visit,we had a ball.

DD1 now at senior school, swimming 6 times a week, playing the tennor drum in the pipe band and being very happy and growen up.

DD2 now at Junior school (our middle school) also growing up,swimming 3 times a week, playing hockey, drums, flute and sings (sounds alot!)Also very happy.

Ds1 in year 3.swims,eats sweets, plays football and is terrorised by his little brother. He is totally delicious.Blond hair, brown eyes, kind, caring, thoughtful and loving.

DS2 CONNOR Terrorises his big brother and the dog Bramble! goes to playgroup 5 times a week and loves it (as do I)he does talk alot but that honestly does not mean a thing.

i am working more,I have doubled my work this year.So teaching lots of pilates classes and dance classes.I love it but it makes life hectic.

We haven't extended our house.Dam credit crunch. We are all healthy and my mantra is "this is our life so lets enjoy it and appreciate each other" (maybe one day we will do the house)

As you can see I have very little time for myself. That is just my life at the moment,it wont last forever. ( well maybe just 16 more years!)

Lovely to hear from you all.

Anastasia I am so sure the talking will be fine,I have seen it happen time and time again.Children all end up bright and intelligent. You sound like you have enjoyed the summer.

HT work is my sanity,so enjoy.Little boys are great :)

Who else is out there?

Going to sit down and write tonight, when all crazies are in bed.....xxx

AnastasiaGrey · 06/09/2012 19:11

Hurrah, someone else. Grin

Matthew went to the speech therapist yesterday and she said he only uses the letters b and d. Also, he isn't speaking because he doesn't listen as his concentration is poor. Have to do some ready, steady, go games to make him wait a bit longer for things to happen. Was told not to say things like 'Matthew, say drink' as that won't help apparently. She said going to pre school might help and will review him in 4 months.

Bought a new book today, Diary of a Submissive as got bad Christian Grey withdrawal symptoms. Grin

Laters! Wink

Gabe is seeing a speech & lang consultant too, we are now starting Makaton. Had a bit of a cry and now trying to get my head round it. Its such a worry isnt it? Did Matthew babble? Gabe is 16 months, doesnt babble at all, only growls, blows raspberries & giggles. We are also seeing paed consultant, phisco, portage, and the hospital for his hearing.

HT Faith is pretending the potty isnt there! I feel your pain lol. How is work going? Are you still enjoying it?? Havent moved yet, DS1 is getting his statement of need update, so me cant go anywhere until that is done, hope it happens before the end of the year.

Fidelma I keep forgetting to look at your dog!! How do you keep going through the day? You do soooooo much, I would be out cold lol.

Calypso how is your mum?

Hi Scout! x

Faith starts pre-school next week....god love them!

Off to dream about Oscar 'blade-runner' now.....lol xxx

AnastasiaGrey · 10/09/2012 09:49

Hi all

littlepea-I'm sorry to hear that Gabe needs speech therapy. Matthew did babble but it was when the babble never turned into words that I started to be concerned. Hope you get the right help, isn't if worrying? Xx

Day 2 of potty training. Yesterday there were lots of floods then he managed to do a wee on the potty then the next time he put himself on and did one. Then we had a miss as he got there too late. As soon as I put his nappy on he pooed!

Big wave to everyone else, off to ring preschool as he needs to start next week.

Hi all

fidelma When did you get a dog? I distinctly remember you saying you never would about a year ago!

littlepea Sending you a big hug, so sorry you are having all these worries as well re Gabe and speech. What is portage btw? Joe has always babbled but other children babbled far more

AG Speech therapy visit sounds encouraging, well done with the potty training!

J's Speech - I think we may be dealing with an articulation problem/lang delay. He understands everything and knows what he wants to say but articulation can be difficult and he misses off the end of some words. Also he'll count to twenty but pronounces two as "tno" seven as "sen." Train is always "tn" and mummy is always "umma." In the past 2 weeks he's started putting 2 words together-mainly ice-cream van, sit here, stand there, read it..so slow progress.

I rang my preferred school (and nursery) last week, spoke to a very snooty secretary about putting J's name down to start preschool/nursery class there for next Jan start. She informed me that I could put it down but its unlikely he'd go there as some people had had their name down for 4 years. I did query how this could be when child starts at 3 and she explained(snootily)that many mums put their name on the list as soon as they know their due date. I laughed out loud and said for God's sake it's not a London prep school. Don't think that helped Grin

Damn, wanted to write more but have just seen time-I need to sleep before work tonight, am on 12hr shift from 8pm. Kisses to all x

HappyTangerine · 12/09/2012 21:19

Very emotional day here, spent most of the evening in tears and am trying hard not to read the Hillsborough threads. I knew it was going to be bad but am truly shocked at the report. I wish they'd stop replaying scenes of it on the news, it's bringing it all back.

To finish my post of Monday-I spoke to MIL about the school situation and she told me there were def vacancies at the little infant school near her (where my nieces went). She knows the head really well and rang her on Monday to informally enquire. Headmistress said to pop in for an admissions form. We did that on Monday afternoon and she met us at the door and gave us a full tour of the school. It's a lovely little infant school, am so impressed. J was into everything, he's more than ready I think. She's reassured me re. settling in sessions and J never leaving me before so we'll start with 1/2hr on the first day then they'll give me a ring and we'll build it up over the week. So from Jan, it looks like he will be at preschool there. What will I do with my mornings?!

Hope you're all ok, now we have the thread going again, don't all disappear!

fidelma · 12/09/2012 22:54

HT tough news today dh and i also have shed a tear..........

Great news about pre school Connor LOVING playgroup, he goes 5 mornings for 2 1/2 hours. He found it hard the first week and cried but now he can't wait to go. I pop in once a week to teach dance.Truely delighted with it.He goes there until June then nursery the following year.I can't believe he is in the system! also 3 at the end of this month.

I am working hard but loving it.I teach about 100 people each week! (just counted that up)

However we are off to Gleneagles for a complimentary spa day and lunch tomorrow because our party of 14 were very sick after an outbreak of something. (although I was fine!!!!) happy to be pampered though.

Bed calling. dd has been up since 5.20am. I am looking forward to my old age.I will sit around the fire with my friends drinking sherry (sometimes you need to dream!)

AnastasiaGrey · 16/09/2012 17:39

Hi all

How are you all?

I am now despairing over Matthew pooing in his pants every day. Wees are done almost perfectly in the toilet but oh, those poo pants Any suggestions?????

Oh god, the new John Lewis ad has just been on, they tug on my heart strings everytime.

Downton returns tonight so über excited about that. Grin

Can't believe Matthew starts preschool on Tuesday. It will probably cause an uproar with the PIL as they have always had the girls on a Tuesday until they went to school but until recently I've only let him go in the hols with the girls as I feel MIL is not able to look after him. Emma seems to do the looking after/nappy changing when there. When he had a fall onto the patio the PIL wouldn't go to him despite Emma's pleas.

Better get on with tea, sausages tonight, yummy!

Good evening all Smile

HT thats sounds like a nice wee school, I bet he will be happy there. I had been watching it all on tv too, still cant understand how the police, say it was the crowds fault! Terrible.

Fidelma 100 people!! You need that wee spa break lol. How is the puppy doing?

AG I cant get Faith to pee never mind poo! She starts pre-school tomorrow morning, and i dont know how to get her started with the potty. Im hoping she sees others at it. She is soooooo lazy! lol. Tonight is her first night in the big girls bed lol...madness.
I cant believe your MIL wouldnt go to Matthew, I would limit the times there also.

Hubby in Wales for a week, adventure training....baah! Its only going to be me & Gabe tomorrow morning, so weird!

fidelma · 17/09/2012 22:19

AG the poos come.Lots of rewards.DD1 used to sit on the potty with a towel over her head! she needed privacy.Connor always tells me to go away when he is having a poo! It wont be long.Promise x

LP Pre school may help. It is a big thing to go to the loo at Connor's pre school.

Connor fell off my shoulders yesterday when we were seeing Andy Murray!!!!!! Backwards onto the pavement!!!!!! paramedics, ambulance the works!

Amazingly he is 100% Ok dd1 thinks she broke his fall but massive crash sound. The worst day of my life.He screamed for 1hour.

DS1 got a tennis ball signed! we wont forget.

littlepea72 · 18/09/2012 05:45

OMG Fidelma!!! What you must of gone through! So glad he is ok xx

AnastasiaGrey · 21/09/2012 11:33

Hi all

fidelma-how awful and frightening. Hope all OK and settled down now.

Well, seem to have turned a corner with the potty training. After losing my temper on Monday after a particularly bad poo in pants incident Matthew has done a poo on the toilet ever since. Feel so bad as I managed to bump his head at the time (childrens centre staff spotted the bruise but I didn't confess Blush). He still loves me though, bless him.

Matthew started at preschool on Tuesday, just 3 hours to start with every Tuesday. I couldn't believe how clingy he was, so awful to have him pulled off me by the staff. Sad When I collected him he didn't want to leave!

It seems very cold today, might have to light a coal fire Shock

Have started buying Christmas bits

Big wave!

fidelma · 22/09/2012 20:36

AG bumps on the head happens to the best of us Blush

Funny wee things,Connor the same at playgroup.

DD1 had a swimming Gala today 2 silvers and a Bronze with some amazing times.Almost making times for the Natnional squad (2 seconds off) she has just seen my post and said "That's embarrassing!

AG Christmas isn't far away.90 sleeps!

Littlepea how are you doing?

CalypsoFramboise · 25/09/2012 21:22

Hello everyone :)

Thinking of you all often, just sooo knackered, keep keeling over with tiredness - Lyra wakes every 2hrs in the night for the last 7 weeks ARGH. Don't always feed her but she does get so cross and wound up if I don't that as you can imagine boob is often the end result. Pft, glad she's my last baby!

Thanks for all your kind words re my mother - she's had the tumour out and is going for her third round of chemo next week. She's lost all her hair already and is quite down which is unlike her. I was super happy to have her over for my PhD graduation earlier this month ( I think some of you saw the photo my brother posted on FB of me in my academic gown and furry cap - I looked awesome :)).

fidelma boggled by connor's fall - sounds horrible, glad he's ok. You're life is so mad, but you're children sound like they get so much out of their days. And next time you're in London we should have a cup of tea and a playdate Wink

HT glad to hear work is going well and you're obviously getting a lot from it, even though its so hard. Don't know where you find the energy to keep going! Fingers crossed for J's pre-school, sounds good.

AG (still not used to your new name!) the caravan beach holiday sounds lovely - was on the beach in the rain and wind in Pembrokeshire last week, I hope that you had better weather than us :) Poor Sophie's face, hope its all healed now.

littlepea you still haven't moved? I bet you're itching to go and best of luck with the appauling situation with the statement for DS1.

Well done all of you with the potty training efforts, sounds like progress is being made :) Annalise is saying she doesn't want to wear a nappy at night (she's been potty trained since last October) but her nappy is still quite full in morning and I really can't face lifting her during the night when I'm up so often with Lyra... Hmm tricky. I really thought that by the time Lyra was 6months (i.e. yesterday) that she'd be sleeping though and sharing a room with Annalise. And she's been weaned for last 2 weeks and LOVES food; 3 full meals a day, 5 breastfeeds in the day and at least 4 feeds in the night, sounds like a lot no?! And she's still barely on the 9th centile!

Guess who this is: "is it my birthday today mummy?" "is it my birthday party later mummy?" "Am I going to have birthday cake mummy?" etc etc etc. I think she might actually combust with excitement on Friday!

xxx

fidelma · 29/09/2012 21:52

Had just arrived at the hospital 3 years ago tonight.I think Connor was born at 6am (ish) party tomorrow with toooo many good friends and lots of their children (30 altogether)!!!!!!!
