arti just noticed you are arti again!

wg meant to say DD was born 11th Aug. I took haribo (tangfastics yum) and digestive biscuits into labour, and energy drink I think....I ate the whole pack of tangfastics during as the midwife told me due to throwing up I needed energy. And I ate the biscuits afterwards as the food was RANK.

Artichokes · 04/02/2011 14:46

Its only temporary SL. I'll change back when I take the photo down.

Rubena · 04/02/2011 14:51

Love it Avo! Looks like my uniform you are wearing Grin
Hi Sybs! I'm very Angry on your behalf at that question. Yes don't let them get away with it. Shocking!
Unfortunately I just double checked with DH and I can't do Thurs week - actually most Tue's and Thurs are pretty much out for evenings as dh does a late list those 2 days and therefore gets home later than normal, and depending what the list is like (which he doesn't find out until the day of) it probably wouldn't be worth planning to come in and meet up in case it's a particularly late one. As far as evenings go, Wed's are def best for me as dh is in London in the afternoons at one of about 4 locations which rotate Hmmso I can drive in with kids and do a switch with him and get train home later. Apart from next Wed as fil is coming over Confused and the Wed after that is the night before our trip so def out. Hmm..... Are Mon's any good?

Rubena · 04/02/2011 14:51

I'll have a proper chat with dh tonight about his bloody rota and get back.....

sybilfaulty · 04/02/2011 14:55

Matthew just deleted a long post. Grrrr!!

Arti, the photo is lovely. Can't believe the move is only 4 wks away. Isn't it over the road from DDs' school? And isn't it your forever house too? Wow, am really excited for you.

Hello SL, lovely to see you.

Gosh I coudl get used to MN in front of the TV with the kids.

sybilfaulty · 04/02/2011 14:57

Rubes, Mondays are good, except for work which is bad. I have to go home to sort kids then come back into town again, so as long as it could be not massively inconvenient for me to get to, I'm your woman.

WineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWineWine I am loving it!!!

SummerLightning · 04/02/2011 15:04

Oh yeah missed that post Arti! Duh. Your legs are looking good! Grin

You must be super excited re house move.

Both kids are asleep, I just sorted out the freezer. Am fed up of DH putting stuff in there and then forgetting it, so threw loads of stuff out. God my life is exciting.

sybilfaulty · 04/02/2011 15:08

Have just remembered why i rarely venture to the wider MN. Do these people have children I wonder?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/employment_issues/1142461-Asked-unlawful-Q-in-interview-what-next?msgid=23616566#23616566

I simply asked what would happen next. I will tread very carefully in my response.

EffiePerine · 04/02/2011 15:25

Sybs: they are muppets, ignore. Twas def a dodgy question. Stiff letter v good plan. I confess that I never peek at the wider MN these days, I know there's some good stuff but I can't be bothered with all the numpties. Plus there's a strange idea that all us vague and chattering people are terribly influential - if that's the case we may as well give up now Grin.

Avo: love the pic! Nice legs :).

Lady: there is a farmers Market at Snape M tomoz. DH has agreed to a jaunt to buy artisan bread and poke in shops. Hurrah.

waitinggirl · 04/02/2011 15:29

sybs - wider mn scares me witless. i stay here safe and sound.

thanks, sl - will have a look back - my, that's ages ago! seems like yesterday.

sybilfaulty · 04/02/2011 15:33

Thanks girls. I will bump again once the working mothers are around to see if I get an answer to the actual Q.

Tis scary out there.

Rubena · 04/02/2011 15:56

Sybs - most of them are just looking for a fight - the question was out of order.

Right, dh has answered that his late Tues and Thur's are every other week (could've fooled me) but he had to go so it was unclear so will talk to him tonight.

Beans33 · 04/02/2011 17:01

Cripes. People are mean. I thought MN was meant to be supportive. Surely if you go on somewhere like that, you're hoping for people to help you out, not wade in like total anuses. Honestly.

Sybs, I didn't get your text I'm afraid!

DH has promised to look after the children from 12.00 tomorrow. Hmmm.

DeidreBarlow · 04/02/2011 17:05

sybs There is a group of MNer's out there who stalk threads looking for a fight. they will say anything to get the thread all up in arms...

Best to ignore them and hopefully someone with some constructive advice will come along.

LadyThompson · 04/02/2011 17:46

Been off for a few hours. Just looked at your thread, Sybs. Ignore the freakaloids on there tutting about 'PC stuff' (I ask you! What's hucking PC about wanting to be treated the same as other candidates) and just listen to the sensible ones. Ooh, it doesn't half make me cross. Think I will ask whizzo employment laywer friend on your behalf.

Yes, Avo - shapely old pins there! Mine currently look like I've borrowed them from the Abominable Snowman.

Oh, and hold on to your hats, girls. I will have the celebrity Neighbour of Neighbours when we move.

Graeme Garden Hmm

Well, it's a thrill if you like Radio 4 panel shows, I suppose.

I have got naff all done today and I am annoyed. I wasn't going to have Wine tonight, but I may have to, to take the edge off my irritation...

JumpJockey · 04/02/2011 17:53

wahhh beans "total anuses"... Sybs it is hilarious that people are attempting to tell you, a lawyer, what is and isn't allowed... No advice on the specifics of the situation but sounds like a few people on the thread might be able to ffer constructive help.

SL I would love to meet up for beers, how can we wangle this? Awsome news about dd's bottle and self settling Grin

Arti/Avo what a gorgeous pic! and how exciting about the imminent move :)

WG hospital food is grim, I took some opal fruits (?!), some flapjacks dd and I had made, a couple of cheese sarnies (??!!!) and some fruit. DH then brought in a chocolate orange Grin which was by far the best thing of all.

jam you speak the truth about just wanting to get out of the house on your own sometimes... I had a brief 15 mins to go to M&S gtoday to restock the knickers drawer (so not the sexy Hot Milk stuff... :( ) and left dd2 with DH, felt like a real moment of freedom. Everyone has been wise above about th need for time to ourselves, definitely just say Right I'm off out matey.

names for bits - might go for fanny but true that some people find it a bit rude. She points at DH when he's getting dressed in the morning and laughs uproariously, which is a reasonable enough response I guess Grin

well good news from us, dd2 has been officially discharged by the paeds team and we're just in the hands of Colin the health visitor. MW also saw us for the last time yesterday and I had a little weep when she gave her a big cuddle - we're not planning on any more so a bit sad that this is the last time there will be a gorgeous tiny baby in the house to fall asleep on my chest :( unless we borrow one Grin

JumpJockey · 04/02/2011 17:53

oh and xposted there lady, graeme garden may well be a super entertaining neighbour if you're lucky!

LadyThompson · 04/02/2011 18:13

Syb, I asked my friend for his advice and have pm-ed you.

zoejeanne · 04/02/2011 18:32

Goody a new pic to notify what I will be doing in 28 minutes Wine followed by Wine followed by Wine and so on and so on

Beans33 · 04/02/2011 18:38

JJ - HAVE MINE IF YOU LIKE!!! although she's not that little at 7 months. Bugger.

Great news you've been discharged!! Yip yip!

Syb, my BIL is an employment barrister and can ask him too? Happy to if you like? X

Beans33 · 04/02/2011 18:39

And whoever said drinking on your own is no fun was WRONG. I am in first beer and it's scrumptious AND fun.

OP posts:
Beans33 · 04/02/2011 19:23

Ooh, forgot to say to Avo and Lady, I once did the make up on a comedy pilot (never got picked up, Boohoo!) and in it were Miranda and Richard Herring! And a few others who are a bit famous. Ooh and WG, that's where I met Gus Brown too! Small old world eh? I don't think they'd have a clue who I am though. Apart from Gus, but him only maybe! Was 6 years ago now.

OP posts:
Rubena · 04/02/2011 19:30

Yep JJ - been there (briefly) with the sad / last time tiny baby thing. Over it now though - well and truly! Great news on the discharge.

Who said that Beans? - I've done it for years! I'm usually almost through a glass ofWine when dh gets home (even when he's home by 530 Blush

Lady - no idea who that is but dh does, unsurprisingly. You didn't say whether you knew the sorting office is open on not tomorrow? [nervous] Grin

Right. Kids asleep, another glass of Wine is calling Grin

Back later.
