New halloween inspired thread (in honour of this time of year) to talk about our little jekyll & hydes [hgrin]

Is anyone going to be taking their little ones trick or treating this year? We'll be at MIL's for Halloween and she's already told me she has both Danny and DS1 costumes -so it appears that decision has been made for us Grin

You can't come then Wink Grin
hehehehehehe

(joke)

Erm, I've just changed my name by deed pole!!!!!!! Changed my surname to dp's
eeeeeekkk

Calico1 · 01/06/2011 09:26

SM cool! I recently changed DCs names by deed pole - so that they would have the same surname as their parents......long story! Can't quite believe how easy it is!

Calico1 · 01/06/2011 09:27

poll not pole!

mumoverseas · 01/06/2011 11:19

SM the nearest train station to Tulley's is Three Bridges (crawley) I could pick you and the boys up from there if you liked as I know you don't drive (legally!) yet. How are driving lessons going?

Calico I'm an older hag than you!

Calico1 · 01/06/2011 13:04

MOS Grin

SilveryMoon · 01/06/2011 17:20

MOS It'd take me between 1.5hrs and 2hrs just to get the train to three bridges! Shock
If that is where we are going to meet, I'm happy to do that, but would like to take up your offer of collection from there if that's be ok.............

The driving lessons are going really well since I changed instructors. I have now nailed round-abouts and am alot more confident and comfortable.
He thinks I'll be ready to do test by the end of summer holidays!

mumoverseas · 02/06/2011 05:03

oh god SM scrap that idea then.
So where is easiest for everyone to get to? London? Coram fields was lovely

SilveryMoon · 02/06/2011 06:22

MOS, I really don't mind. It takes me that long to get anywhere from here! It'll take me just as long to get to corums field too and I've done that twice.
I don't mind travelling and the boys love getting on trains and now Luke is such a good walker stairs etc are no problem anymore.

CP is gone. DC2 has been potty trained. Sun is shining and I am taking boys for a bike ride and picnic. Lovely.

Wow a DC3! I was really broody and really wanted a third one too but things didn't work out the way I expected. And TBH DC do keep me busy as they are now constantly arguing and fighting over everything. But when not fighting they are so cute together.

It must be stressful to move back home after many years abroad. By the sound of it, you had to deal with some unpleasant ex-pats there MOS. I hope that everything will go smoothly.

Calico1 · 02/06/2011 07:44

America wow - impressed with the potty training! Lilian shows no inclination in that area. She wants to wear her 'big girl pants' over the top of her nappy Hmm. We're going on a picnic today too - at a tree cathedral, whatever that is. Have a lovely day!

MOS / SM I love about an hour north of London so Coram fields easy for me. In fact anywhere in London is ok - but I don't really know where is good with kids in London? I've always wanted to take them to run around in the fountains at Somerset House - but that would require a hot day and a change of clothes so probably not the best idea!

SilveryMoon · 02/06/2011 08:13

Hmm Calico My boys to love to run around in fountains and water sprays. But like you say, it's a change of clothes, towels etc on top of probably having to pack a lunch/snacks/water/juice and all the other crap bits you have to carry around for toddlers.............
I do like corums field coz you can let the kids runn off without having to have to see them constantly iykwim.
But like I say, I am pretty easy for most things as long as travel one way will not take longer than 2 hours

oooggs · 04/06/2011 21:54

Hi ladies - don't think I would make a meet up, August with 4 children on a 4 hour train trip to London (then 4 hours back!!) I think is out of my stress range Wink

Luke no where near potty training

I am also looking forward to dts starting school in September Blush

I don't remember the summer of '76 (at least I was born Wink) but my brother was born in that August and Plymouth were on stand pipes Shock

I have read the last weeks worth but can't remember who said what! Blush

except congrats to MS - 4 children is great Smile

america · 05/06/2011 18:54

The sun is still shining but now DC2 has CP and is really, really poorly. I didn't realize how easily DC1 sailed thru but it kills me to DC2 crying for mummy and being so uncomfortable.

oooggs · 05/06/2011 19:08

yes I know that feeling america, I had 3 of mine get it within 13 days in January, I thought dd was poorly until the boys got it Sad hope it is all gone soon

dinkystinky · 05/06/2011 21:19

Oh no America - poor DS2. I think someone on the thread earlier on really recommended the piriton cream for chicken pox as the most effective relief (that and oatmeal baths - lukewarm) - and alternate calpol and nurofen every 2 hours to keep on top of his temperature (and pain). DS1 had it really bad at 18 months and was miserable with it (as were we) so totally know how you feel. Danny hasnt had it yet but am waiting for it to hit. Just know he'll be a nightmare.

I WANT TO MEET UP TOOOOOOO!

When are we thinking?

All going well here, got my scan date through for the 27th of June, seems aaaaaaaaaaaaaages away.

DS managed to potty train himself when we were in Majorca at the end of May. On the first day I got him ready for the pool in his UV suit and a swim nappy. I told him it wasn't like a real nappy and he had to come and tell me when he needed a wee or a poo and that was it! He used the toilet for the rest of the holiday (except for nappies at night). No one was more amazed than me.

He has kept it up and we've had a few accidents but not many. I am making him have a wee before bed now, putting a nappy on and making him wee first thing in the morning and sometimes the nappy I take off is dry.

Please let it last...

dinkystinky · 06/06/2011 10:57

Wow - Frankstretch is really advanced! Danny has started telling us when he's done a poo or wee but is nowhere near ready to toilet train! Love your posts on FB about his calling you names. Bet time will fly till your scan.

SummerRain · 06/06/2011 11:43

A is a lost cause in the PT deparment, he's in complete agreement that he wants to be a big boy and use the toilet/potty but when it comes to it point blank refuses. I tried a day with no nappy and he didn't get it at all so i'm just going to leave it a while and try again when he's a bit more co-operative.

We also need to lose the dummy and somehow convince him to start giving up breastfeeding too, I'm waiting til my end of module assessment is handed in tomorrow before i start clamping down though, too much stress right now!

MS..... i'm very impressed with your ds, I wish any of mine would be as easy as that Envy

littlesez · 06/06/2011 20:33

wow sorry i fell off the thread again not promising to keep up this time practically live on clothnappytree as it generates lots of business!
I really want to meet up! with enough notice i could get a really cheap train ticket (ihope!)

littlesez · 06/06/2011 20:41

MS!!!!!!!!!!!! congrats Grin

Izzy really potty trained herself too, she is dry overnight too if she doesnt have a bottle. Oh jeez the bottle saga given up she can have it forever im done trying!!! my mum can get her to sleep without it but i cant, maybe my mum should drive down every night to do bedtime eh?

Izzy STILL has a dummy too which drives me nuts again another saga.

AND still BF although i reckon she would be easier to wean from breast than either of the above Hmm

sorry rambling everythign else is fab very busy now greenabubs has taken off and moving house in august Grin

really really want to meet you guys xxxx

mslucy · 06/06/2011 23:57

CONGRATS MS - awesome news.
When's yr due date - I'm thinking Dec/Jan next year so another winter baby?
Very excited for you.

MarkStretch · 07/06/2011 10:45

Thanks everyone! Due date is about the 7th of January but it will be another csection for me so who knows when they will book that in.

How are 3rd sections Mslucy?!

All that seems a bit far away now as I had a bleed yesterday. I was in a toilet cubicle with DS in the shopping centre, realised I was bleeding but he flushed the bloody chain beofre I got a good look! (Sorry, TMI). Rang Doctors who said not a lot to be done, just take it easy. Well that's easier said than done, have 3 friends and 6 under 3's arriving for lunch today!

Anyway, I took it easy yesterday afternoon and made DH do all the work when he got home from work and haven't had any bleeding since. It's quite normal for me as have bled in both my other pregnancies, it's just scary when it happens and you feel so helpless Sad. No pain though so that's surely a good sign.

God, I had forgotten how nervewracking all this pregnancy business is!

dinkystinky · 07/06/2011 11:42

I foresee a new years eve baby for Markstretch Grin Hope all ok with you Markstretch - definitely try ad take stuff easy as much of possible - get your mates to do kiddy crowd control.

I fear Danny may be ready to drop his daytime nap (though we are not!) He had an hour during the day yesterday and was up chuntering away till around 9.30. Aargh.
