Happy anniversary to sausagen I can't believe it's been over a year since that most amazing virtual hen party. God, that was better than any real life hen party I've ever been to Grin I hope you've had a lovely day anyway.

running Can't believe you've now had your scan etc... Doesn't pregancy fly when you're not the one that's pregnant, lol.

Thanks for the messages on f/b and here when I was upset leaving C. It was made all the worse because she was not well that day and I felt that she really needed her mum, YKWIM. She's all better now though and her walking has come on in leaps and bounds. In fact today on the playground she was a right show off. Doing more walking than she's ever done before Grin I'm very happy with her furry boots too. They're a bit like cruisers. C's feet were too big for the Clarks cruising shoes, but these fit and are perfect for her at the moment, keeping her feet dry and warm when we're outside [hsmile]

Tomorrow I've got my 1st hairdresser appointment in monts. I think it's actually been since february or something [hhmmm] Anyway... long enough for me not to remember how long ago it is and long enough for my hair to be longer than ever before. Not sure what style I'm going to go for, but hey ho. I'll see....

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend :)

momino · 01/11/2010 18:28

Belgina, well-remembered on Sausagen's anniversary! that really was a fun hen party. I wonder how sexybuilder is... Hmm

glad C is better. How did you get on at the hairdresser?

ses, lol at cheeky Owen. my girls do similar - make a fuss then see who's watching them. it's all a game (sigh). Hope your trip to Eastbourne was exciting (Hmm).

I had good news from home - my mom had a knee replacement operation today and it all went well with no complications. hopefully she'll have a quick recovery and the new knee will allow her to come visit soon Smile.

Hope everyone else is well.

Hello everyone! Sorry have been incommunicado for a while, life has been busy.

So, the news from the Tumm household is that we are no longer moving to the States. It got very complicated and the company looks financially shaky, so it was too risky to move lock stock and barrel out there. But DH is still contracting out there, and this time is out for a month Shock. I am definitely owed some time off in lieu after having sole childcare for that long. I don't think I would be able to cope if I was at home all day instead of working (I work to have a rest from home-life!!).

Sausage hope you had a lovely anniversary

Ses lol at cheeky O throwing strops for an audience

Momi happy anniversary to you too

Belgina you must be v proud of C and her walking

Congrats to Running and OMG I can't believe Smokey will meet her babes next week. How fast has that time gone? Speaking of babes, hope Spangle is OK. Haven't heard from her for ages.

Sorry if I've missed anyone out. Blame it on general rubbish-ness and knackered-ness.

belgina · 01/11/2010 22:30

momi My mum had a knee replacement 3 years ago. She always says she regrets not having it done earlier. It transformed her life and the pain she used to have is completely gone. The only issue now is that you can't bend a knee prothesis as much as a real knee, so she can't kneel anymore and play with the dcs on the floor or anything. She also needs to have a lot of space to get in and out of the car.
I hope your mum will have a similar experience and I hope she gets better soon :)

tumm lovely to "hear" from you. It's a bit :( about the States, but at the same time it's nice to know that you don't have to take that scary big decision of having to leave your family :) Hope that month will fly by too.

hairdresser My hair is now all shaped and has got a bit more body. Otherwise it's pretty much the same as it always looks: very straight and fairly long Grin

belgina · 01/11/2010 22:31

Hmm Don't know what happened here. I wasn't quite ready to click post yet...

Just wanted to add that I'd been wondering about Spangle too.

Hope everyone is OK out there. I suppose we all keep up to date via fb a bit more these days.

flipflopsattheready · 02/11/2010 08:50

Hello all!

lol at the antics and then checking the audience! A does this too, but usually it's when she's doing something dangerous - her latest trick is moving things around so she can climb on them and get higher/further.

tumm - I'm on my own at the mo too, DH is back in the states again as well. A month is a long time, hope it passes smoothly and quickly. I guess it's mixed blessing about the move.

sausage and momino - happy anniversarys! It was ours the week before last. 11 years, how did that happen?

momino - hope your mum heals quickly. My mum could do with a hip replacement but is in total denial about it all, much to the annoyance of just about everyone who knows her. She is infuriating. Belgina, we agree with your mum that she should get it done sooner rather than later but she won't do anything about it.

smokey - hope you are ok!

And hello to everyone, just because I haven't NCed you doesn't mean I'm not thining of you!

llareggub · 02/11/2010 17:13

Hello! I hope everyone is well. I've been reading and lurking but every time I settle down to post something happens to drag me away.

sexybuilder come out, come out, whereever you are!

smokeybacon not long to go now. I hope you are managing to get some rest and aren't too uncomfortable. I'm sure it doesn't feel the same way to you, but I am amazed and how quickly your pregnancy has gone.

Tummum I'm glad for you that you now have some certainty over the future. I am very selfishly glad that you are sticking around!

Belgina are you any nearer resolving the ipad/iphone dilemma? My DH showed me a picture of a tablet he has found that looks JUST like the ipad but at a fraction of the cost. I can send you the link if you like.

running congratulations on the scan!

everyone hello.

I have some news. I am not pregnant, before you wonder! I have just finished drafting my letter of resignation and I am very happy to be giving notice. In 2 months I shall be FREE and no longer a foot soldier in the destruction of the public sector. I will be leaving to work with DH in our business and I am raring to go. I can't wait. I have some vague ideas for developing the business and can't wait to get started. I feel like a big weight has been lifted from my shoulders. It won't go down well as they won't be allowed to replace me but hey ho.

belgina · 02/11/2010 22:10

llare How exciting! It must be such a relief for you.

I've worked out my dilemma by now Wink It'll have to be a phone, so I can surf the web where ever I am. The iPad just doesn't fit in your pocket, now doesn't it? I did see a cheaper iPad look-a-like, but the review about it was not very good, so I'm a bit weary about getting that.

I've also got some very exciting news. DH and I have decided to start TTC from next month onwards. So I shall be booking myself in shortly for coil removal Grin

flipflopsattheready · 02/11/2010 22:48

Ah poop, typed a reply and lost it!

Basically said llareggub and belgina - exciting news of different varieties!

Nothing much happening here. DH is still away, girls aren't too bad but A's sleeping is crappy again. Bedtimes are better than they were (only taking about 45 mins to get her settled now, instead of 2 hours!) but when she wakes in the night it takes over an hour to get her settled again. And then she decides that it's ok to start the day at 5.30. I ought to go to bed really, but I keep getting sidetracked online!

Hope everyone is ok x

flippineck · 02/11/2010 22:53

checking my name change worked! feeling nostalgic. And unimaginative!

I'd forgotten I'd got bump pics on my profile. I love being pregnant

essenceofSES · 03/11/2010 09:56

Morning!

flip - broody for a baby or just the pregnancy?! Glad A's sleeping has improved but hope it quickly improves further for you!

Belgina - yay for ttc :)

Momino - glad your mum's op went well. Hope she's back on her feet reasonably quickly.

Llare - that's great news for you and DH. I'm sure you'll both see the benefits in the business v quickly by the sounds of things with all those ideas!

Tummum - Probably a relief that the possible States move is sorted. Hope the month with DH gone goes quickly for you.

I'm hoping Spangle is ok too. I know it gets hard enough for me to find time to MN but I guess if I had pg tiredness, it's be almost impossible! Hope that's all it is.

Re iPad/iPhone , I have an iPhone but DH has offered to buy me an iPad for Christmas. I'm not really sure if I need both and I also think he's hoping he'd be able to use it too. However, I'm a bit anal about my angrybirds and Bejewelled scores and don't want him to muck up my high scores. Does anyone with an iPad know if you can have 2 different people with log ons for the same iPad?
I know that does sound really pathetic but I know it would really annoy me! The simple answer is to get an iPad each but I really don't think we can afford that when we're meant to be saving for a possible DC#2!

flippineck · 04/11/2010 21:53

Hello Ses!

Broody for pregnancy and a newborn/small baby; and believe it or not sometimes I just want to give birth again. That sounds mad, doesn't it?! Toddlers are slightly less appealing at times though Wink.

We had a miraculous night last night! A slept through - woke at 5:45! Unfortunately I woke at 5 in a bit of a panic because she hadn't woken, then couldn't get abck to sleep.

Hope everyone is ok. Come back and talk to me!

llareggub · 04/11/2010 22:38

I don't think that is mad at all. We've been around the houses regarding TTC no 3, and for now have decided that 2 is enough. As much as I love the cuddly baby stage, I don't think I am ready to go through the whole newborn stage whilst DS2 is so utterly useless at sleeping.

I honestly cannot remember when I last slept all night, but I suspect it was somewhere around the beginning of 2009. Even in the early stages, when I had the amazing sleeping baby, he was only sleeping 12-6 or so. Ho hum.

I think if I could give birth (painlessly) to a toddler then I'd do it. I love this toddler stage, it is so much fun. My 4 year old can be such a horror you wouldn't believe. I swear he is 4 going on 14. Obviously I love him to bits and generally he is wonderful, but honestly. He has a big tub in the garden in which he stores his "pongy water." He uses it to water his plants and it really is the vilest, smelliest water. He adds dead leaves and all sorts of horrid things to it. Anyway, today he poured some of it over DS2's legs and feet, destroying his shoes. I was so cross. I know, I know, I should have been supervising more closely but I busy pegging out clothes. His pongy water is now no more....

smokeybacon · 05/11/2010 19:53

Hey everyone. Sorry been AWOL for a while. Been admitted to hospital as bp high and a little bit of protein in my wee. Anyway, am booked for induction tomorrow morning!!! Yikes.

Haven't caught up with thread for a few days but will try, assuming I have a sleepless night ahead!!

Hope everyone ok . Xx

llareggub · 05/11/2010 20:14

Good luck! I'll be thinking about you. How exciting!

momino · 05/11/2010 20:57

just checking in: Smokey! good luck, can't wait to hear the good news. thinking of you too.

all, thanks for your kind words about my Mom. she's doing ok but the rehab place is neglecting her loads but two ofmy sisters are there to support her - just deciding if she should go home and recover in more comfortable surroundings.

Hi llare! great news about your job (well, leaving it) and Belg, very excited and Envy about ttc.

Hi Flippin, how's your new house, do you feel at home? I've got to send your book back, willmessage you soon.

Good luck Smokey :)
Can''t wait to hear your news!

Hello everyone else!

flippineck · 05/11/2010 22:07

wow, smokey - exciting stuff! Will be checing for news all weekend. Hope all goes smoothly!

momino - that's funny, I was thinking about sending you a message to ask if I'd be able to have it back at some point? Thanks for asking about house. Yes, sort of settled but frustrated too, there's stuff that we keep saying we'll do, and it doesn't get done, iyswim. Kind of inevitable I guess with small children and DH travelling so much.

momino · 05/11/2010 23:29

Flippin, trynot to be too hard on yourself for not getting things done. You're so busy with young children! We've lived in this house for 6 years and still haven't put up photos on the walls, painted our bedroom, etc. there will always be boxes left to unpack. Smile
