Tell me what you want, what you really, really want......

I propose:

  1. a central location (ie: London, unless anyone has a better suggestion)
  2. a school day (ideally Tues, Weds, Thurs)
  3. somewhere that has sofas and coffee.

Thoughts?

Ooooh I'm very, very tempted. If I can persuade someone to mind DD1 I might just book my tickets. I don't think I could cope with a 4 hour train journey with my 2 DDs Grin
Melk If I am coming I'd be coming through Bristol, what train were you going to get?

donttrythisathome · 23/09/2010 19:46

BMI sorry just saw your message! Not sure if I can afford York now I've decided to take a career break (well nearly decided).

However I've just booked my ticket from drizzly Brighton to London for the 7th October so see you all there! Excited.
Thanks for organising.

BusyMissIzzy · 23/09/2010 21:29

Valium takes the credit for this one. Two weeks today! Exciting :)

Glad you got a good deal on your tickets iwcas. And I'm very Envy of your friend working at Facebook btw.

MummyElk · 27/09/2010 10:59

hello all!
Have somewhat buggered up - technically i'm also coming to london the day AFTER as well for the whole weekend?!! sans enfants! So am now trying to work out if it's feasible for the three of us to do london and back on the thursday, and then me drive back to london on the friday eve?!! stoooopid Melk....
Anyway, smac i'd prob be getting a tenish train from bristol temple meads and heading home at 1500.

thoughts anyone? am i being overambitious?!
and are kids under 5 really free on trains? I can't find a price for Elk

BusyMissIzzy · 27/09/2010 12:00

That's going to be a lot of travelling Melk, at least you won't have the children for the 2nd stint. Children under 5 are free on trains, but you won't have seats booked for them so if the train is busy the inspector can ask you to have them on your lap. Now sure how that would work with a 2yo and a baby. Hopefully there will be plenty of free seats at the times you're travelling.

BusyMissIzzy · 27/09/2010 12:01

*Not sure, even.

SmacsGonePotty · 28/09/2010 22:18

mmm think the train from Wales goes through Bristol Parkway not BTM Sad would have been good to have company for part of the journey

BlueyDragon · 28/09/2010 22:38

Hurrah, I can come too! Technically Alex is supposed to be at nursery, but I'm sure he can play hooky. 1 pm, Mamas and Papas, Regent St, yes?

Sariska · 29/09/2010 11:44

Table is booked from midday so, SW Trains permitting, I'll aim to be there from then, seeing as the booking is in my name. Someone come and keep me company, please!

BusyMissIzzy · 29/09/2010 12:07

I'll be there for 12 (or as near as poss, tube and baby permitting!).

donttrythisathome · 29/09/2010 12:53

Sariska I have tried to pm you as I just thought that as I'm not on facebook I haven't a clue of real names and what you all look like!!

BusyMissIzzy · 29/09/2010 13:16

Easy solution donttry; join FB! Grin

Sariska · 29/09/2010 16:57

Didn't get a message donttry but have just sent you one. My sent items is showing it as gone, at least.

angfirsttimer · 29/09/2010 19:39

Hi ladies, I may now be able to join you all. Yay!!
Will try to be there for midday if things pan out and I am able to come.

Looking forward to it. I have a vague idea what some of you look like from facebook, but I guess a huge table with many children will be easy to spot!!

angfirsttimer · 29/09/2010 20:12

IWCAS - oxford circus

BusyMissIzzy · 30/09/2010 13:50

So.. guess where we're all going to be this time next week? Grin

I'm getting a bit nervous actually..

MummyElk · 30/09/2010 15:52

i actually blow dried my hair today to practise...?!!! how sad am i

Sariska · 30/09/2010 17:38

Blowdry? Gosh, very impressive. I am no longer sure where my hairdryer is. So, in a way, it's lucky I haven't had the chance to get to the hairdressers since February Shock as a straggly grown-out bob can live without blowdrying in a way that a bob can't so well.

Hmm, I sound attractive, don't I!

angfirsttimer · 30/09/2010 19:57

God I might not come now, didn't realise such an effort was being made, was kinda hoping our mutual position in life would excuse sicky cardigans and unblowdried hair!

BusyMissIzzy · 30/09/2010 20:24

Don't worry ang I for one will be un-blowdried and generally crumpled-looking. And sporting under-eye bags and sick stains aplenty :)

Sariska · 30/09/2010 20:40

Oh no, do come Ang!

All my clothes have sick on them.

annamama · 30/09/2010 20:50

Hi, can I come too? We live in London now... Valium never told me about this! (she is almost my neighbour now) But Smac did, thank you very much. Sorry I have been absent for so long, been busy. It would be really fun to see you all in real life!
:)

BusyMissIzzy · 30/09/2010 20:57

Of course anna, the more the merrier. I nearly asked Smac if she'd mentioned it to you, but then I forgot Blush
