Tell me what you want, what you really, really want......

I propose:

  1. a central location (ie: London, unless anyone has a better suggestion)
  2. a school day (ideally Tues, Weds, Thurs)
  3. somewhere that has sofas and coffee.

Thoughts?

Oh, that's not too bad then.
Dizzi I'm sure 1pm would be fine; people will be filtering in and out depending on who's getting trains to/from where, and I'd guess that "locals" will be able to hang around longer.

Sariska · 09/09/2010 23:31

Yes, I'm sure 1pm would be fine too. I'll still be there! In fact (warning!) I am usually late so I may only just be arriving.

IWCAS - another reason I don't want to get a commuter train is because I don't want to pay commuter prices: £50+ for a day return. Off-peak is "only" £20 something. And this for a one hour journey.

donttrythisathome · 10/09/2010 12:29

Me please! 7th Oct fine.

BusyMissIzzy · 10/09/2010 12:50

donttry, are you still up for the York meet in November?

ValiumtheConqueror · 10/09/2010 15:23

Huzzah- is it worth calling and booking a table in advance? Should we wear badges? Is there a code word?

OP posts:
BusyMissIzzy · 10/09/2010 15:30

Code phrase is "make mine a gin cupcake please". Reply is "This Too Shall Pass" Grin

FlipFantasia · 10/09/2010 19:04

Is it too early for a gin cupcake?

Or maybe ProPlus would be more use right now!

I reckon it would be a good idea to book a table if we can. I'm happy to do so. How many of us (roughly) will there be? Do you think they'll let us bring our own cupcakes to use as a centrepiece???

BusyMissIzzy · 13/09/2010 08:53

I'm not sure they take bookings, it's just a cafe. No harm in phoning to ask though.

It looks like there are about 9 of us, plus the babies.

DizziDoll · 13/09/2010 13:49

It's possible to book through toptable, so I guess you can book with them directly too.

In case you haven't found it yet, here it is.

They do nice food for adults and children.

I will be coming at around 1pm with a baby and a toddler who will be very hungry.

BusyMissIzzy · 13/09/2010 16:22

Ah, cool. I was thinking it was more like a Starbucks (admittedly I've only walked past it to get to the toilet, hadn't looked properly!). Looks really nice.

ValiumtheConqueror · 13/09/2010 16:52

Book away then Sariska!
Maybe I should get one of these

OP posts:
ValiumtheConqueror · 13/09/2010 16:54

or these

Maybe instead of the traditional red carnation, we should all have something cupcake related on, or about, our person. Or little person(s)?

Or Gin?

I saw this in Debenhams the other day. Shame the colours are a bit vile (IMHO), I'd quite like a T shirt with a cupcake on it, in principle.

BusyMissIzzy · 13/09/2010 17:19

Weirdly, the colours of the T shirt aren't vile, but for a cupcake, theyre.. unnatural. I must prefer my clothes to look more realistic Hmm

Flisspaps · 13/09/2010 22:59

I'm tempted...3hr train journey each way but no changes (except a tube from Marylebone to Paddington...)

Will have to sleep on it I think.

Perhaps we should have had a MMMMM (Midlands) meet up as well Wink

Sariska · 15/09/2010 10:33

Cibo Cafe (aka the M&P restaurant) is booked for 9 people at 12 noon on 7th Oct. If more of us turn up I'm sure they can find a few extra chairs. How busy can it be on a weekday?

Booking is in my name - see the FB group if you don't already know it!

BusyMissIzzy · 15/09/2010 13:18

Cool, thanks for doing that Sariska.

ValiumtheConqueror · 15/09/2010 20:15
