so if another election was called tomorrow, would you still vote the same?

I think there are probably quite a lot of people that wouldn't.

A lot of disilusioned people no longer believing in their respective parties (loss of support on all sides imho).

so - would you?

Would you in fact vote at all?

I'd vote the same. Because I still agree with those policies the most.

TottWriter · 11/05/2010 12:01

I would indeed vote the same way. The person who got my vote was the person I wanted as my MP, and he happened to represent the party which most closely matched my opinions about how our society should work.

I can understand why people found it so hard to choose who to vote for in this election because of the tactics involved, so I gues I just really wish there was a system in place which allowed the consciences of everyone to make their choice in the same way I did. If there was an election called tomorrow, I wouldn't like to try and guess the reuslts though - if there's one thing we've learned from this it's that advanced polls really don't mean anything.

anastaisia · 11/05/2010 12:04

yes. I agree with this:
"The person who got my vote was the person I wanted as my MP, and (s)he happened to represent the party which most closely matched my opinions about how our society should work."

That hasn't changed.

thedollshouse · 11/05/2010 12:06

Yes, I would.

I am a typical floating voter, I was originally going to vote for Tory, then Lib Dem but actually ended going for Labour for purely selfish reasons.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 11/05/2010 12:10

I would vote the same way.

Aussieng · 11/05/2010 12:27

I would vote the same. Only thing I could do to make a difference however is to move house to another constituency

squirrel42 · 11/05/2010 12:58

I'd vote the same, but if everyone else did then it would still end up being wasted since I voted Lib Dems and the Conservtives got in here.

My parents voted Conservatives and Lib Dems won in their area, and my sister also voted Lib Dem and got Conservatives. All four of our votes didn't actually impact on the balance of power in Parliament!

Role on PR or at least some kind of electoral reform...

feralgirl · 11/05/2010 13:02

I probably would vote the same way, unless the polls in my constituency showed that tactical voting wasn't sensible iyswim.

My heart said Labour but my head said Lib Dem as Labour are in third place in my constituency. I'm assuming not much will change so, if I want to keep the Tories out here, then I'll have to do the same again.

A friend who works as a Lib Dem volunteer in London says that the parties are already discussing dates for an October election. And that the Lib Dems are completely skint so have no money left for another campaign.

I'd vote the same.

HappyWoman · 11/05/2010 13:21

Think i would vote the same - but i think there would be some friends who would change.
my party didnt get in here though so not sure how much good it would do - we have one of the safest seats.

loonyrationalist · 11/05/2010 13:21

Yes - very narrow conservative victory over Labour here.

I think those who voted for a party other than those 2 in this constituency would have to consider their position - Lab 21k Con 23k biggest other vote was 8k for Libdem are the ones who would make the difference iyswim

vintage · 11/05/2010 13:25

i voted for Lib Dem for the first time but would now revert back to Labour

Alouiseg · 11/05/2010 13:33

I'd vote the same.

expatinscotland · 11/05/2010 13:36

i don't know.

ninja · 11/05/2010 13:39

I'm with Vintage - my heart felt bad after what I did.

TheCrackFox · 11/05/2010 13:41

I don't know. I voted Lib Dem but I am nowundecided, I am such a floating voter. TBH I don't really like any of the political parties.

Salbysea · 11/05/2010 14:01

yes I think so, nationally I float between 2, maybe 3 parties, but only one of them has a likable MP in my area - the other is very self serving

I'm guessing a lot of people will swing back to labour from lib dem though

Elibean · 11/05/2010 14:10

I would vote the same way. Its a 2 horse race in our constituency, otherwise I'd be less sure.

BeenBeta · 11/05/2010 14:10

Yes I would vote Tory agan and if it were an AV election I woud put a 1 against the Tory and refuse to have my vote transferred to any other candidate. I feel that strongly.

DuelingFanjo · 11/05/2010 14:11

I would vote Labour instead of Lib Dem.

Tashtodd · 11/05/2010 14:12

Tory again

Ladymuck · 11/05/2010 14:14

Well we don't know the identity of the Labour leader let alone what agenda they would pursue.

CrosswordGeekWantsChange · 11/05/2010 14:17

Would still vote for Cons.

CogitoErgo · 11/05/2010 14:18

No, I'd definitely vote differently. I voted Lib Dem this time and was disappointed that they didn't have more of a showing. I feel now that I wasted my vote.
