Well you obviously lived in a different city to me. People were always being mugged and burgled near me! Many areas were no go!
The local comprehensives were falling down, and have recently been re-built under this government. As have many hospitals. Maybe you just haven't noticed!
Years of thatcher squeezing public services has meant alot has been spent on reviving them. The economy was strong because Thatcher didn't want to spend money on the common people!

jellycat · 12/05/2010 15:04

mimizan, our local falling down comp hasn't been re-built under Labour. That's because we live in a safe Tory constituency.

mumutd · 12/05/2010 15:37

I've just joined too, don't know why I hadn't thought of doing so in the past but better late than never .

mumutd · 12/05/2010 15:42

'Can't wait til the media get their knives out on the Tories. Who do you think will be their first victim? Osborne? grin'

Hague, oh please let it be Hague.

snowlady · 12/05/2010 16:26

i have joined the lib dems today

OtterInaSkoda · 12/05/2010 16:56

I will be joining, for the first time, after payday (I'll be financially embarassed if they take their payment out before then).

Has anyone received their badge yet?

MorocconOil · 12/05/2010 17:00

I'm waiting to get my 'Don't blame me I voted Labour' badge.

Jellycat- I rest my case. Tories don't really value comprehensives. Why would they, when they think we should all pay for our own education!

mumutd- I'd love to see Hague at the mercy of the media too.

I joined a few months back and it cost £1 as I am young (not sure where the boundary is, but I am 25)

Brollyflower · 12/05/2010 17:13

Is it possible to be a member of all 3 political parties? I quite fance having a say in all of them .

KaraThrace · 12/05/2010 17:19

I joined too after leaving over the war. Am feeling very positive.

LadyG · 12/05/2010 17:27

Am joining too. Can we start a Balls for Leader thread yet?

MorocconOil · 12/05/2010 18:08

miaow SmallWhiteCat- you seem very defensive for a supporter of the winning team.

I wish I could be as confident as you are that the Conservatives are committed to state education and healthcare! I'm afraid history just proves that that is just not the case. But then some Conservatives like to re-write history don't they? Remind me again of the name of the Conservative MP who denied the Holocaust took place?

snowlady · 12/05/2010 18:15

Is it possible to have a married couple's membership to tory and lib dem parties

Brollyflower · 12/05/2010 18:55
