Where have you slotted *voting* into your schedule tomorrow?

I am doing it first thing in the morning so that I don't run out of time later in the day and waste my vote!

Have you planned at what point you will be voting tomorrow or will you just go when it takes your fancy?

I so hope we wake up to a sunny day on Friday with lovely blue skies!

I've already postal voted

dh is going to vote at about 3pm just before the school run

NoahAndTheWhale · 05/05/2010 19:50

Either at 9am (after taking children to school) or about 11:20am (just before picking DD up from school). I need my wits about me to decide how to vote, although as this seat will be tory whatever I do, I am not entirely sure all my rumination is worth it.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 05/05/2010 19:50

I had planned on doing it on the way to taking DS to Monkey Mayhem . Not feeling too good now though, so probably will fit it in round how I feel, but I WILL get out and vote. Can't imagine not voting, and frankly shocked to read of people here in 30's, and voting for first time.

helyg · 05/05/2010 19:51

I get a day off work as they use my workplace as a polling station.

So instead of having a mad dash to get the kids to breakfast club and myself to work I shall amble up there at leisure after dropping them off at school

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 05/05/2010 19:51

Hopefully 2.30pm between my work and school run. Depends if I can leave work on time. Otherwise straight after sch run with kids in tow.Bit worried about dh's vote; he is staying in L'pool tonight for work and won't be back till late tomorrow. have reminded him to be back before they close at 10pm.

I spit in the face of your blue skies BTW.

fruitstick · 05/05/2010 19:51

Me too Noah, I seem to be living in Tory heartland which is most depressing.

DH and I have always gone to vote together and we were disappointed that we might not get to this time.

So we are all going (complete with small children) when he gets in, before the kids go to bed.

greensnail · 05/05/2010 19:52

I'll be going on the way back from DD's swimming lesson.

EldonAve · 05/05/2010 19:53

probably between school and nursery drop offs

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 05/05/2010 19:53

probably at 9.00 after drop off.
however have hairdressers appt at 9.30 so may have to come back later if long queue

MarthaFarquhar · 05/05/2010 19:54

I'm on call tomorrow, so will have to go on the way into work, as I might not be back until after 10pm.

Then a power nap to keep me going until the results start coming in. Luckily I don't work Friday mornings.

NorbertDentressangle · 05/05/2010 19:54

Probably on the way to pick up the DC's from school... which reminds me, I need to find our polling cards and check the venue as I'm presuming its the usual church hall but I haven't actually checked.

expatinscotland · 05/05/2010 19:55

We postal voted yesterday.

NoahAndTheWhale · 05/05/2010 19:55

I am slightly concerned DH won't make it back home from York in time to vote. I did make him take his voting card with him so he can go there on his way back (rather than waste a whole 5 minutes coming back first)

Littlefish · 05/05/2010 19:57

I've postal voted as I'm working tomorrow and I was worred about getting to the voting station.

Fruitysunshine · 05/05/2010 19:58

I will be going at 9am after dropping DS1 off at scholl and DS2 of at playschool. I am so sad that I have been thinking about it for a while and even have my polling card in my bag ready incase I forget it in the mad morning dash!

TheCrackFox · 05/05/2010 19:59

I will be doing it straight after breakfast as we live just round the corner from the school, which is shut due to it being a polling station.

whomovedmychocolate · 05/05/2010 19:59

I will be there at 7am.

DS wakes me at 5ish every day

There is bog all to do that early in the morning, so I may as well.

JustBlameSue · 05/05/2010 20:00

around mid morning after school run and dog walk.

lucykate · 05/05/2010 20:03

will probably drop the dc's at school, then go.

and ps, blue will spell nothing but doom!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/05/2010 20:04

Around mid-morning I think. DH is working from home so we'll walk round together.

Fruity - fingers crossed we get those blue skies!

PrettyCandles · 05/05/2010 20:07

I usually try to do it with the dc - I want them to see us voting. I want them to consider it the norm to vote, and not be apathetic non-voters when they grow up. Unfortunately too many afterschool activities tomorrow evening, so will have to vote between nursery and school pickups with just ds2 in tow.

loulou77 · 05/05/2010 20:19

Can you take the DC with you? I would prefer to vote during the day if I could but the little ones are not in pre-school (because the school it is attached to is a polling station) so I would have all 3. Can you take babies in slings into the booth?

I have voted by post but am DH's proxy.

cupofteaplease · 05/05/2010 20:23

About 7.20 on my way to work. I won't get another chance after that.

bratnav · 05/05/2010 20:24

Well I shall be voting after I have:

  1. Printed off the medical emergency proxy form at a friends house as we do not currently have a working printer

2.Visited DH in the hospital to get a doctor to sign the form

  1. Been to the electoral services department in the city register office for them to verify it

All this with 4DCs in tow as their school is a polling station.

Oh and I know DH wants to vote for a different party to my choice, who last time had less than 10% of the vote
