I give you David Aldous, conservative PPC for Waveney.

Presumably they picked this photo from a set. I'd love to see the others

Mr Spademan reminds me of Uncle Fester from The Addams Family..........

MarthaFarquhar · 20/04/2010 19:18

vic d'albert, half-man, half eagle

PfftTheMagicDragon · 21/04/2010 09:25

eagle man!

TiggyR · 21/04/2010 09:32

Molesworth - that youtube clip of John Redwood is hilarious - he looks like Mr Bean!

TiggyR · 21/04/2010 09:35

Let's face it, the job of MP has always been reserved for the unfortunate looking. Want to be famous? Huge ego? Can't sing, dance act or play football? Not good looking enough to get your kit off for a living or sit on a GMTV sofa? Then be an MP. The only good thing about Tony Blair was that at least he looked normal. Nick Clegg is actually bordering on handsome though.....Oh dear, what's happening to me.

All three very scary candidates from the main parties appeared to be out on the stump today in the fiercely-contested Sheffield Central...

thehillsarealive · 21/04/2010 21:36

my DS came home from school today wanting to know all about the election, the parties and what they stood for. lordy, a 10 year old with an interest in politics... turns out his school is holding an 'election' and he wants to run for a party.

His 4 choices are Lib Dem, Conservative, Labour and Green party.

So now I have to help him with a few speeches, help explain what each party stands for and help him 'campaign'

I did say he could download each parties manifesto, but think that might be over his head.

so, what does each party stand for? Anyone want to give us any pointers in the basics?

UnquietDad · 21/04/2010 22:53

First News has a panel with all the would-be Children's Ministers

here

PfftTheMagicDragon · 22/04/2010 08:05

gah, that Michael Gove was on Question Time last week, he was hateful!

PfftTheMagicDragon · 22/04/2010 08:06

the hills, MN have a policy breakdown of each of the parties on their election 2010 page - it's quite useful.

cinnamontoast · 22/04/2010 13:03

On the subject of scary prospective MPs again, Ernie Warrender - UKIP candidate for Bath. Planning to use the Daimler to sort out the local transport problems perhaps? Or to escort immigrants back home?

thehillsarealive · 22/04/2010 16:32

thanks UQD and Pfft.

thehillsarealive · 22/04/2010 21:23

pfft, I cant find that thread, any chance of a link?

jeananddolly · 23/04/2010 17:21

Prince Harry is our local Lib Dem candidate it seems

Molesworth · 23/04/2010 17:22

thehills, it's here - top left hand link, "promises, promises"

Michael Gove looks (and sounds) like Stingy from LazyTown. When he was on QT, I was expecting him to turn round and say "It's mine!"
