The story re Dr. Lola Salem being charged has disappeared from Daily Mail but I will try again to post a screenshot.

All your link tells us is that he dated an Oxford professor for a couple of years, and now he is not.

Ah, I see.

So, the OP thinks Gove must have been in on it not that, what I’d bet is the situation of partners of child abusers, that they are completely blindsided and initially unable to comprehend that someone they thought they knew is actually someone they didn’t.

I really don’t like Gove for a whole host of reasons but for once I think he deserves some grace. We don’t know when he found out the full information and he was probably in shock and needed a couple of days to process the information.

I don’t like him either but this is just a ridiculous attempt to smear him.

Come on OP. Show yourself. Are you saying Gove was in on it. Knew about it. Had half an inkling about it. Is himself therefore a child abuser or child abuser apologist?

In fairness, I reckon he was blindsided by this. The political rumour mill has never linked Gove to under-18s.

But it’s been claimed that Lola was a beard (likewise, his ex wife). So, if those bearding rumours are true, it’s possible that she was secretly using the arrangement to cover her sickening behaviour (assuming she’s not innocent of these charges, of course, although the evidence is probably pretty damning).

To be clear, I don’t care about sexual orientation and I don’t believe that public figures should have to publicise it - that’s between the adult parties involved. My point is that any agreement might have suited both of them for very different reasons if she’s guilty.

I dislike Gove as much as the next person. But this is unpleasant. A worse thing, and rightly judgable, would be if he'd stayed with her like India Knight did with Eric Joyce. He didn't.
