Could Labour adopt Green policies in response to their growing popularity?

There was a phase when Reform's popularity was rising and Labour started adopting some of their promises, like toughening immigration laws etc.
Can they do the same but looking up to Greens now? Haven't they started already, removing 2-child benefits cap?
But, in contrast to Reform, I can't imagine what is actually driving increasein Green's popularity other than pro-muslim vibe/antagonism to Reform, and what's there for Labour to copy. Any suggestions?

I would rather have a party in government who did what they thought was right, rather than what was popular

Being honest and doing the right thing doesn't win votes.

Telling people what they hear (even if it's undeliverable) sadly does.

But KS doesn't really have his party's support. He had to U-turn on PIP cuts, benefits cap and so on.
So every time he gets it right, he doesn't stand a chance.

That is a problem for him.

Green policies are mostly the ones Labour used to have before they lunged to the right!

I think most proper Labour voters have made it clear that they're not happy with Keir Starmer's stance on, well, most things.

Nonetheless, I would sooner have a government that does what it believes to be right.

I'm not naive enough to believe that what they do, because they believe it's the right thing to do, wouldn't have to be sugar costed, but even so ...

for example, I bow to no one in my hatred of Thatcher and all she did and believed. But, she did what she thought was right (however bloody wrong it turned out). On the other hand, I'm doubtful that Farrage, much like Trump, believes in anything much other than lining their pockets.

Not everything Thatcher did was wrong. We were strike prone and industry was held to ransom frequently. Some industrial policy worked and she maintained the armed forces. Every era has its challenges. She did have a strong vision and policies to back it. Now it’s poor vision and poor policies. There’s no long term strategy and they u turn to get votes or stop mp rebellions. They don’t think of the country, MPs think of their seats. Unfortunately we don’t have many high calibre politicians.

Politicians generally want to be PM for two reasons:

  1. Because of ego as it's the top job - once they get the job they have no idea what to do with it - Boris Johnson falls into this category (and I would also add Starmer, Polanski and Farage)
  2. Because they have a vision of how to change the country- agree or disagree with their vision, Thatcher, Blair and even arguably Liz Truss (even though her vision was batshit) would fall into this category.

Agree with this as a former Labour Party member who actually voted for Starmer to be leader of the Labour Party the man changes his mind with the wind and has no vision at all sadly. I so regret my decision now. But he was a convincing liar.
