Edited: WHO do you think! 🤦‍♀️

I know there have been various threads about both candidates and policies, but thought it might be interesting to see peoples opinions via a straight shooting poll. Go!

So personal insults plus anti women's rights? Not even from the USA.

Great.

When you can formulate a reasonable argument without resorting to insults do come back to me.

and when you've stopped tantrumming like a toddler you can come back and join the grown ups 😊

I think & hope Harris, I find it bizarre anyone would vote for Trump esp watching the campaigns, he is do lally & she is intelligent, competent & for the people not just herself 🤷🏻‍♀️

Edited

If you divide the voters into the categories you’ve just given for the candidates, then unfortunately that’s the problem. I hope to god Harris makes it in.

its not trans issues it's women's rights issues.

HTH.

Unlike the ability control her own reproductive freedom 🙄

And I am American, and actually used to be a registered Independent, but switched to Dem about 10 years ago.

ThatAgileGoldMoose · 05/11/2024 00:16

Think Trump, want Harris. I wish I thought more of the American public than they'll choose an incoherent ranty law breaker over over somebody who has the audacity to be both black and a woman.

iamtheblcksheep · 04/11/2024 22:37

I don’t know any decent hard working person voting for that vile woman.

You should widen your circle to include decent people then.

Ha ha. Women's rights not for grown ups then. Misogyny is your thing. Only the little women would want the reproductive classes protected in a patriarchal society.

Yes you're a great democrat. You get to be 'progressive' whilst beating women with a stick.

Amazing. Well done you.

The other side of the woman problem, you get to berate Trump for being a pussy grabbing misogynist whilst being a misogynist yourself. Congratulations.

So why did Obama fail to meet his election promise to codify Roe v Wade, do remind me? Or was it that women weren't important enough?

AnotherHotDrink · 04/11/2024 23:06

If Harris doesn't win, Antifa and the left will be very cross. They burnt the place down in many areas last time, they also seem to have been the ones behind most mass shootings lately and have been sticking fingers up at priests, over abortion. I wouldn't want to work at a school or anywhere Christian if they lose.

Oh. It's you under another name.

Someone recommended an interesting book about that to you on another thread. I'm reading it now.

Not MAGA, the public who don't want to vote democrat!

There is a difference.

Edited

Are you referring to people you think are actually going to vote for Trump versus Harris? Or are you referring to Republicans that will refrain from voting at all?

HerBloodIsLikeLiquidFire · 05/11/2024 00:25

Trump because it's sods fucking law.
The USA should be bloody ashamed when they bring this proven criminal back to another term. They won't though. Even if by some miracle Kamala gets in, that fucker will fight it and cause who knows how much more destruction? He's a very dangerous man. At the very least it would be his last term. Not that that makes anything okay, but he could fuck back off after that. Imagine, that's really the best people could hope for. Fucking vile.

I think you have me confused with someone else. I am widely read. I do know that the democrats passed over several opportunities to codify women's rights, at the time it wasn't a pressing concern.

But sure, give me the book title, i'll read it.

I'm referring to voters who are disenfranchised by Harris due to her anti woman stance wrt to women's rights when it comes to sports and other single sex spaces.

She seems more interested in listening to concerns of individuals like Dylan Mulvayney and 'their' misogyny than the plight of girls in the USA who are losing out on lucrative scholarships to males as a result of the removal of title IX.

It is no good to say that women should have to accept these things because they are not as bad as Trump. Not on the weak argument that abortion rights have been lost when previous Democratic administrations failed to codify them despite election promises (looking at you Obama).

Women's rights should not be second to democratic freedom. Women like Harris are failing women whilst pretending to be our protectors.

lifeturnsonadime · 05/11/2024 00:32

Thanks I'll read it, will be interested to know why this means Obama failed to use his POTUS status to protect women's reproductive rights. I don't believe POTUS has less power but I'll read it and come back to you.

KlaraSundown · 05/11/2024 00:33

Unfortunately think Trump.

He purports to represent the millions of middle and lower class Americans who've just been sidelined by rampant US capitalism. Whether he actually does that is another matter, but it will unfortunately get him elected.

The actual situation in the state with the "killing pets" is the illuminating factor. There were no killing pets (aside from a crazy lady in another state) but the US government have flown over about 15,000 Haitians since 2020! to work at a huge Amazon distribution centre on the town's outskirts, displacing huge numbers of US workers from not just jobs but homes. They're paid a fraction of what a US worker would get, and it's been so successful that they're building another one.

This is why Trump will be elected.

OK, I’m as gender critical as it’s possible to be, but voting for Trump instead would be like burning your house down because there’s a stain on the carpet. Trump could literally not give a single shit about women unless he’s assaulting them. And Republicans are dismantling every part of reproductive autonomy women have. So what you’re saying about Harris sounds like ‘but her emails’ for Hillary Clinton. Seriously.

Oh, and on the Democrats not codifying Roe v Wade? Yes, that was disappointing. But voting for Trump instead? Fuck me…

You're misunderstanding me entirely.

I am not a Trump supporter. I'm just baffled at a notion that the democrats will blame MAGA in the event of a loss tomorrow rather than looking at why their voters might feel disenfranchised.

I think this entrenched tribalism is a reason that elections that should not be lost end up being lost.

How there is even a possibility that Trump could win points to voter disatsifaction. My point is that the democrats would be wise to look at that rather than point fingers.

I genuinely don’t think that anybody voting for Trump at this point could be dissuaded by anything he did or the democrats did differently. Regardless of any candidate that the Democrats put forward.
