Whatever your political persuasion I bet I’m not alone in being glad that David Cameron is foreign secretary after the events of the weekend. Statesmanlike and articulate, hopefully he can get his de-escalation message across. Listening to him this morning he speaks so much better than Sunak or Starmer

No way this hasn't been written by David Cameron. Come on pal, we're not going to forget Brexit that easily.

Yes I absolutely agree op and was saying the same to dh the other day. He is statesman like. The only adult in the room when it comes to our current government imo.

Let me just fix that for you:

Yes I absolutely agree op and was saying the same to dh the other day. He is so good at pretending to be statesman like. The only cosplay adult in the room when it comes to watching our current government lark about on the set of Something Special like Mr. Tumble and Aunt Polly, imo.

He's definitely fucked up in previous years but I think this current role is well suited to him. And let's compare him to the others in government...he's absolutely outstanding in comparison 😂

Moonshine5 · 15/04/2024 16:55

What did you put on your cereal toys morning OP? I hope you are alone with this p o.v.

Moonshine5 · 15/04/2024 16:56

*toys? Lol
Autocorrect

HappierTimesAhead · 15/04/2024 17:04

'Speaking with authority' doesn't mean you know what you are talking about and nor does it mean that he will have any influence over what happens next. You think Israel or Iran are going to listen to anything he says?! FFS, give me strength.

MushMonster · 15/04/2024 17:10

I mostly agree with him on the handling of the current ME sutuation, what I am very surprised about!
I also tend to agree with what Biden's administration is saying (lately).

Ilovemyshed · 15/04/2024 17:15

I don't find him the least bit statesman-like. Not one little bit.

I yearn for the days when we had proper government ministers.

Yep it’s this 👆

We’ve got so used to the demented brats that run our Country, that OP is now swooning when someone that can act like an adult (when it suits them) appears. God how sad is that…..

Definitely not written by David Cameron. I blame him totally for Brexit. Just think he speaks well with authority and most of the current politicians dont

He was always good at selling shit.

I can't make up my mind if Rishi is stupid for letting him back in or a genius (keep your friends close and your enemies closer).

MushMonster · 15/04/2024 17:30

Lol, I know! It is quite crazy!
We need to get those standards back up!

KermitKermit · 15/04/2024 17:32

I agree with you, OP, although I’m not a fan of Cameron. There is no one within the Conservative Party I’d rather have in the role (although roll on the general election!)

To those who disagree, whom from the Conservative Party, do you think would be better?

Westfacing · 15/04/2024 17:39

No one would be any better but that doesn't mean I'm glad he's back.

He's just there - I have no say in it!

CarolinaInTheMorning · 15/04/2024 17:40

I just found out he's a lord now. Of Chipping Norton.

MushMonster · 15/04/2024 17:56

Yes, a Lord, indeed.
If any of us messes at work anywhere close to a 1% of what these guys do, we do not get anywhere close to this treatment. It is very frustrating...
At least he is in this office at a time we do need some sense.

Icanseethebeach · 15/04/2024 17:58

If you think the Conservatives don’t have a single elected MP who could do a decent job then that says more about the MP’s than Cameron.

MyTattooIsBetterThanYours · 15/04/2024 17:59

You know the Tories are bad when DC looks good.

HappiestSleeping · 15/04/2024 18:07

They are a shower of shit. Couldn't run a bath.

Has Rish! done anything else to make you consider he may be hiding his genius ?

It's telling that this far in tying your shoelaces would count.

You live in hope 😁

Seriously though, I just can't see the logic 😕

BiggerBoat1 · 15/04/2024 15:53

I hold David Cameron personally responsible for the shitshow that is Brexit so her can fuck off to the far side of fucktown.

Shows how desperate the Tories are to have allowed him back in.

My thoughts exactly.
