What is Johnson on? Total turn around from last night and he's just lost an MP!

It's all good. All of it. Brexit, covid, inflation, everything. If he repeats it often enough someone might believe him.

I'm running behind but just seen BJ mocking Ian Blackford when he was questioning about the parties. Unbelievable, cheeky b*tard, he is taking us all for fools.

jgw1 · 19/01/2022 13:11
@jgw1 oddly enough, no mention of that 🤷🏻‍♀️
How odd, surely it is one of the greatest achievements of his premiership?

Yellow85 · 19/01/2022 13:13

Apparently the history books will only note the fabulous work of the Tory Party 2020-2022.

He actually did say that it would go down in history.

NOTANUM · 19/01/2022 13:13

Rishi had to be there to make up for his disappearance last week. Tory voters hate the obvious backstabber so he knew he has to look loyal. Behind the scenes he and Liz Truss are apparently on manoeuvres.

The reason a red wall Tory MP will cross the house is because they believe it’ll go back to labour at the next election. Most of them are only there for the weird Boris effect that swept the nation.

here it is

Sheabutterisdelish · 19/01/2022 13:20

Wow yes what a day

MaggieFS · 19/01/2022 14:43

Most of the way through now. What a shambolic session.

Who was the lady on the front bench behind the PM in the pale blue/lilac jacket? Can't work some of them out in the face masks.

why he is so buoyant now

This is why he is in the post. He treats it just like those debates at school, where you are given a side and make its case.

It's a performance. It isn't his own persona, it isn't even his own name, which is Alex

Behind the scenes, the Tory party are dismantling the welfare state, unravelling many protections for working people and providing contracts for donors.

So long as people vote for him, they'll let him continue. My own sister says well, it's just Boris

The papers are turning on him because he has lost a few MPs. The parliamentary party will only turn on him when they think he won't win elections. They still have FPTP and a good few supporters who think they are better than the alternative.

Meanwhile, he is performing as a puppet.

Ugh

why he is so buoyant now

I think because he’s announced the lifting of all isolations and restrictions for March. So the headlines will flip to “good news, it’s over” and get bored of the lies, effectively he’s ridden it out.

Didn't he announce that he doesn't have the votes to reintroduce the law that means that Ministers can introduce the restrictions by statutory instrument. The original law has a twilight clause so after two years = March 2020 it is no longer on the statute books.

Thinking about it further perhaps no one has told him that is why the restrictions are ending, like no one told him that a party was a party.

EvilPea · 19/01/2022 15:53

I thought he said he wanted to end everything and move to “living with covid” earlier than the 26th March timeline

Can someone please translate that answer he gave in a foreign language? I’ve been Googling without success.

Zonder · 20/01/2022 05:56

Who did, @ClaudiusTheGod ? At which point? I missed that.

Paul Howell is my MP. I was hoping he was part of the pork pie club but he's just a slimy little toad. I'm going to write to him

Was he speaking "Peppa Pig" again?
