I am sure they are not the only people who want him to go, but can he cling on?

Warning, report below contains picture of Murphy. Scrolling down quickly after opening may resolve the issue.

Everyone wants Murphy to go!

GeorgeYeatsAutomaticWriter · 09/05/2015 19:40

I quite fancy him Blush

claig · 09/05/2015 19:41

Thought so. Anyone would be mad not to. Though Eddie Izzard probably wants him to stay.

Grin @ George - I've been restraining myself from posting that for days. Blush x 100

claig · 09/05/2015 19:42

GeorgeYeatsAutomaticWriter Shock Shock Shock

Sort yourself out!

It's the aquiline nose. He's all cheekbones and sinews.

claig · 09/05/2015 19:44

Don't, please don't Shock

I'm sure the marketing gurus at Irn Bru would rather he drank their stuff in quiet anonymity.

tabulahrasa · 09/05/2015 19:45

I had something to say...I've completely forgotten it in the shock of finding out people find Jim Murphy attractive.

claig · 09/05/2015 19:47

'I'm sure the marketing gurus at Irn Bru would rather he drank their stuff in quiet anonymity.'

What happened to sales? Were they adversely affected?

I think Jim Murphy is the single biggest reason that the SNP did so well on Thursday, so for that reason I'd love him to stay and continue to be condescending towards the electorate until after the 2016 Holyrood elections. Wink

GeorgeYeats, I think you may be unique Shock He actually makes me shudder.

claig · 09/05/2015 20:17

'Jim Murphy is the single biggest reason that the SNP did so well on Thursday'

Not surprised. When he said to Ruth Davidson "How dare you call me a liar?", Labour must have lost another ton of votes.

Who in their right mind at Labour HQ thought that Murphy should be in charge of anything?

OP posts:
weeburrower1 · 10/05/2015 16:12

Murphy has to go. Even as a current SNP voter, I think a poor opposition rebuilding itself is better than no opposition at all, which is what they are under Murphy.

claig · 10/05/2015 17:06

'Jim Murphy: 'I can still become First Minister next year''

www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/snp-claim-labour-leader-jim-murphys-seat-after-nearly-20-years.1431052473

Gawd help the people of Scotland. What on earth are Labour up to? Are they trying to punish the people of Scotland, forcing them to listen to Murphy on TV every night?

Murphy shouldn't be put in charge of a whelk stall on an Irn Bru crate with Eddie izzard by his side, let alone be First Minister of Scotland.

It's like something out of bad nightmare, the worst nightmare imaginable, straight out of Dante's Inferno.

Gawd help the good people of Scotland. Our prayers are with you.

What worries me is that they'll send him down to England, because he has got more talent than the crew Labour have got down here. And people wonder why no one votes for them in the South of England.

OP posts:
SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 10/05/2015 17:11

We don't need your prayers claig. We have St Nicola of Sturgeon protecting us. Grin

Actually I can see the appeal of Jim.

claig · 10/05/2015 17:13

I hope he stands for the Labour leadership and wins. He'll do to Labour what he has managed to do in Scotland - wipeout!

OP posts:
SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 10/05/2015 17:14

Oh I think the English Labbour party are doing a marvellous job of that without his help.

claig · 10/05/2015 17:16

True, but he would be the icing on the wake, the kiss of death, the descent into oblivion

I've decided he's actually some sort of SNP undercover agent...him staying as leader will keep their support high rather then letting it settle into depending on their actual performance.

I don't even see how he can stay on, it's supposed to be someone who has a seat that's leader.

I can't see him being voted in as an MSP, which means him being one of the ones put forward by the party and sneaking him in the back door effectively, which won't go down well at all.

claig · 10/05/2015 17:23

'I've decided he's actually some sort of SNP undercover agent.'

It seems to be the only sane explanation

'I can't see him being voted in as an MSP'

It is fantastic entertainment. All of England will tune in for that election to see what happens to him. His wild-eyed boasts of success are better than any Shakespearean tragi-comedy. The whole of the seat he stands in will be having such a party when the results are read out. The GDP of the whole country will go up by several percentage points due to the non-stop partying and no expenses spared celebrations.

Jubilee? This is better than that.

OP posts:
tabulahrasa · 10/05/2015 17:28

The problem is that if he doesn't gain a seat directly, he can still be put forward on the regional list because of the voting system for the Scottish parliament and get a seat that way.

chipsandpeas · 10/05/2015 17:29

unless he changes where he stands for a MSP i think hes onto a loser there as well as hes expecting pretty much the same people who voted him out of WM to vote him into holyrood

then we will need to listen to him all over again next year......saying that it might be worth it to see him lose again

claig · 10/05/2015 17:29

Yes, that is the problem with PR, you can't get them out.
