I'm curious to know who other people would never vote for. I know that a MN thread isn't going to be representative.

Labour, Labour, Greens and Labour

trixymalixy · 15/04/2015 21:03

SNP, BNP, UKIP, Tory.

TreeSparrow · 18/04/2015 20:24

I'd never vote for any right-wing party so no Tories or UKIP (and no scary BNP, Britain First etc.)

They all play on demonising those worse off and crow about how they "worked hard to get where they are". That phrase raises my hackles whenever I hear it. So if you're struggling you're just lazy.

Also, the precious NHS isn't safe in any right-wing hands. Social medicine needs a socialist-leaning government to be truly safe.

Ah I see what you mean purple apples. It could be taken either way I guess. I read it the way I did as I wasn't asking for party preferences just wondered about the selection panel questions. Maybe summer holiday stress is making me more nearly than usual Wink

SNP - at the last election I found myself voting Labour in an attempt to keep them out. If independence ever happens I'm off to Ireland before the EU kicks Scotland out.

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 06/08/2015 12:20

I'm a centre of the road voter so it's a no to the likes of BNP / SNP / Sinn Fein / DUP / Britain First (and similar parties of their ilk) / Communist Party.

I would have to be in a really odd tactical voting position to be able to put a cross in a box for UKIP

JackSkellington · 12/08/2015 19:35

It's probably easier to say the only parts I would vote for are the SNP, or second choice Greens. May vote Labour in future IF Corbyn becomes leader and turns the party around, but not a fan of Dugdale and co so it's a no for now.

WetAugust · 12/08/2015 19:37

Anyone who voted for the Maastricht Treaty.

And I have maintained this policy for decades now.

GoooRooo · 12/08/2015 19:40

UKIP.

I swore I would never vote Tory but I broke my vow in the last election in the vain hope it would keep UKIP out of my constituency. It didn't work. I have the UK's only UKIP MP and I went against my personal principles for nothing.

FannyFifer · 12/08/2015 19:40

I will never & have never voted for anyone other than the SNP.

blacktreaclecat · 12/08/2015 19:44

Labour. The only year I didn't vote was 1997 and I regret it so much!

WetAugust · 12/08/2015 19:49

This thread is interesting as it appears that some people would / wouldn't vote for particular parties regardless of what their policies are

I decide who to vote for by identifying what the single most important issue is. I vote for a party that aligns with my view on that issue.

ALassUnparalleled · 02/09/2015 09:20

The SNP, UKIP the Greens any mad socialist party like Tommy Sheridan's.

ALassUnparalleled · 02/09/2015 09:22

Primarily SNP. No matter what their policies are I would never vote for them.

Savagebeauty · 02/09/2015 09:24

Labour.

ALassUnparalleled · 02/09/2015 09:25

Oh and obviously BNP. So yes letter parties SNP, BNP, SWP, UKIP.

squidzin · 02/09/2015 13:31

Never vote for virually all parties, here.

Centrists (New Labour, Tory) are too in the pockets if big corpa and finance mogules, full of lies to suit their own interest, for me to vote for.

Right wingers UKIP BNP etc never, too too rudiculous and more liars.

Left wing such as Tusk not for me, too specific and better for single-policy pressure.

For years I've been with the Greens, as although I disagree with some of their wider policy, and I would have never been interested in joining a party I felt very stongly about *something they represent and was convinced to join.

Sorry for the essay! There is a point...

Corbyn has made me join Labour and so I will cross Labour off my never vote for list if he is leader.

ALassUnparalleled · 02/09/2015 17:23

Corbyn has made me join Labour

Me too , so I could vote for anyone other than him as leader.

squidzin · 02/09/2015 17:53

I bet you were Tory before Grin

Twowrongsdontmakearight · 02/09/2015 18:03

Never vote UKIP, BNP etc nor for anything like X Factor, Strictly and the like.

ALassUnparalleled · 02/09/2015 21:22

No squidzin the first election I voted in was 1979. The election prompted by the SNP sulk leading to the vote of no confidence after devolution was rejected.

I voted Labour then and every general election since. I lived through the debacle of Foot and Kinnock. At least Foot had ministerial experience and presence. If I were secretly a Tory I'd vote for Corbyn.

ClaudiaNaughton · 02/09/2015 21:27

Greens,Labour,SNP

squidzin · 03/09/2015 08:56

I wasn't born then. Oh well we're half sisters anyway. It'll be alright.
