'I would never vote, full stop. If voting affected the establishment in any way, they'd ban it.'
I know what you're saying avoiretre, they are all much of a muchness and Ken Livingstone wrote a book called "If voting changed anything, they'd abolish it", but it is not really true.
If you had voted Labour last time, by now your DNA would have been stored on a DNA database, you would be carrying a biometric ID card in your pocket, your civil liberties would have been weakened and you might have been on the way to a thought crime politically correct Stasi future. By voting Conservative and LibDem last time, all that was stopped and Clegg and Cameron tore up the biometric plans and srapped lots of the assaults on civil liberties.
This time it matters too. if you vote Tory, you will get an EU referendum, it is said. If you vote SNP, you will destroy Labour in Scotland, if you vote for any of the other insurgent parties you will probably force the Establishment against their will to introduce proportional representation for the next election.
It does matter whom you vote for, it does make a difference. Just witness the fear of the Establishment about UKIP, that shows that voting does change things and shakes things up.
