Ed M was brilliant last night

I have never had much of an opinion on Ed Miliband, but he was amazing on the Free Speech programme last night. He came across as normal and likeable and actually engaged with ordinary members of the public. I feel that we have been told by the media to think he is useless, but this is a pleasant surprise and I have changed my views on him. Did anyone else watch this?

It is well worth watching even if you don't agree with his views.

Just bugger off with the Ed spam, please.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 14/03/2015 21:33

Are you referring to the one written by the perosn who was a tory, then joined UKIP, pened what Farage has derscribed as "drivel", and is now a Tory again?

Yes, that manifesto. The one Farage launched at Westminster and wrote the foreword to. Smile

claig · 14/03/2015 21:39

The one Farage launched at Westminster and wrote the foreword to.'

I don't think he read it until later when he was shocked to find out that it contained "drivel" such as taxi drivers wearing uniforms or something.o say Farage was displeased by it is to put it mildly. He had never read such "drivel" in his life apart from New Labour's Five Point Plan

LumpySpacedPrincess · 14/03/2015 21:54

So, he wrote the foreword, signed it and launched it claiming it was time for "straight talking" but he hadn't actually read it?

Hmmmm, so he is a bit of an idiot then and willing to put his name to something he hasn't read?

claig · 14/03/2015 22:02

' so he is a bit of an idiot then and willing to put his name to something he hasn't read?'

Everybody makes mistakes. He is only human, even though many of the People's Army think otherwise.

pettyprudence · 14/03/2015 22:18

This is all.

Damn straight Petty

30somethingm · 14/03/2015 23:49

@OttiliaVonBCup. You don't have to read the thread if you don't want to! The title makes the topic kind of obvious.

For the first time, I have been massively persuaded to vote for Ed. He came across as both competent and human.

Did I post on twitter by mistake?
No, I did not.

And I can read and post wherever I bloody like.

30somethingm · 15/03/2015 11:36

Of course you can read and post wherever I bloody like", but what is the point of coming on a post merely to lambast its existence? Also if you are allowed to read and post what you like, why can't I and others? You told us to bugger off with these posts a few posts back?? Free speech for some but not others in your book? Very inconsistent! Why should I "bugger off" for posting what I observed, yet you're allowed to post whatever you want!

Oh!
I do like too see some passion.
Even on the subject of Ed Kitchenette.

Do you realize this makes you sound like a Nazi talking about your fuhrer?

claig · 15/03/2015 13:18

It is a joke, chill out and have a laugh.

He is Farage, the leader of the People's Army, the movement that has got the Oxbridge teenage whizzes in a tizzy. We're turning them over, shaking them up, explaining how the people were sold a pup. They are panicking and biting their nails, the people have got the wind in their sails, all their Oxbridge dreams and schemes are about to fail.

Farage said he is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy

LumpySpacedPrincess · 15/03/2015 14:26

He's more Lord Voldemort than messiah. Hmm

iniac · 15/03/2015 14:27

'I feel that we have been told by the media to think he is useless'

Exactly.

30somethingm · 19/03/2015 14:21

He was bloody brilliant. Passionate, kind, compassionate and crucially genuine. I'm now totally convinced by him.

HappydaysArehere · 07/04/2015 23:54

He did well. He has really developed into leader material. I would trust him more than Cameron.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/04/2015 00:05

Ed Miliband is probably the only one I'd vote for.

Farage scares the shit out of me.
Cameron lives in a out of touch bubble.
Clegg is too much of a wimp.

So Ed is only one who seems intelligent enough to do effectively. My opinion of him has grown a lot and I'm actually considering voting for him.

HappydaysArehere · 17/04/2015 10:22

He has got better looking. Those strange mouth movements have gone and he has very positive, in command of himself persona. Anyone else noticed this?

Viviennemary · 17/04/2015 10:25

I think he did come across well. But the very thought of the country being run by Nicola and Ed is terrifying. Fine if you're very left wing or live in Scotland otherwise a disaster. More taxes, inflation spend spend spend.

Unfortunately the only leader in the debate who put forward any fiscal control was Nigel Farage all the others really did think money grew on trees. I think if it's a lab/SNP coalition we will end up like France with the businesses looking to move elsewhere such as Ireland who would promise them better t&c.

ImperialBlether · 18/04/2015 11:31

SuperDroopers, there can't be a coalition when one member of the coalition wants to break up the country!

Oh, claig, who are you voting for? It's uncertain from your posts. Grin

Madbugger · 18/04/2015 15:46

Or take lots in benefits or don't work full time.

For most of us it's a fucking disaster.

Madbugger · 18/04/2015 15:49

Or don't run a profitable business or employ people or own property or want to buy your council home or own an expensive house ( despite the fact that Ed only lives in his £3m mansion because he used a tax loophole and Nicola's family home was her parents council house that they bought under the right to buy - a right her party now denies all other people living in Scotland.)
