Boris has made london a much cleaner place, he cares about London, and doesn't waste money on stupid projects.
He's got my vote.

Really??? UKIP????

Voidka · 03/05/2012 12:08

Oh yes vote for UKIP

With their pledges that they cant deliver on and barely veiled racism.

Brilliant!

ajandjjmum · 03/05/2012 13:13

When will the results be announced?

JosephineCD · 03/05/2012 15:03

Tomorrow evening.

thirdhill · 03/05/2012 15:26

I like neither Boris or Ken, though B can be entertaining. However all the initiatives I like from Boris's tenure were Ken's ideas. We now need the ideas refreshed and Ken's good at getting clever people to come out with them.

I think the things some of the other candidates are saying are interesting. But they lack the ability to make things happen, the experience of getting others to create and deliver. Boris had to grow into the job, but still no new big ideas after all these years despite his cleverness.

Still prevaricating, late I know, but perhaps flip-flop is the way to go. Ken for some good ideas this time round, maybe Boris to entertain next time round... Also I think the country has become more divided and the well-proven way to say "remember to temper the way you use power in these fragile times" to the Government is to swing away from the party in power. That's me sorted, then. Maybe.

ironman · 03/05/2012 15:31

UKIP's not racist, but Ken is! He can't stand Jewish people and I don't know one who would vote for him. As a Marxist he can't stand Christians but is very in love with Islam. What a nutter. Ken is akin to George Galloway, both opportunist egoists.

UKIP's prospective mayoral candidate is married to a black woman and has two young children. To his credit he has not wheeled the wife her out to show his credentials.
Gerard Batten (immigration) has been married to the same Filipino woman for 20 years and has two teenage children. To his credit he does not wheel her out
either. Why should they?
Voidka you insist on calling UKIP racist with no basis.
Each to his own.

KatieMiddleton · 03/05/2012 15:31

Interesting you only come out to play when there's an election Eloise... just sayin'

margoandjerry · 03/05/2012 15:41

I'm voting for Siobhan on the basis that she's not Boris and she's not Ken. I'm probably a natural Ken voter but am dubious about his mates and his prediliction for chummying up to Chavez and other unwholesome types.

Also she's got education as her priority, not dick swinging which is what B and K have got.

KatieMiddleton · 03/05/2012 15:46

I'm inclined to agree margo.

I'm even going to get dressed and go out and vote. In a bit...

margoandjerry · 03/05/2012 15:48

Grin even as I posted that I thought - yeah, brave words, but you do know it's raining, don't you?

KatieMiddleton · 03/05/2012 15:55

Oh well if it's raining..! WinkGrin

I will go out and vote. Even if it's just to spoil my ballot paper.

CydCharisse · 03/05/2012 15:59

Yes, get dressed and vote for Siobhan!

She seems like she's got her head screwed on right and is not Boris or Ken or a racist. I read all the materials published by all the candidates - she is the only with an actual thought out manifesto and plans, rather than a few populist points on an A5 flyer.

ShirtyKnot · 03/05/2012 16:01

Oh noes Katie - at the last mayoral election I drew a great big spunking penis on my ballot paper - and look what we ended up with!

Grin
KatieMiddleton · 03/05/2012 16:03

I'll draw a nice pair of boobs instead then ()()

We'll probably get Boris and Ken then. In some sort of unholy job-share arrangement!

ShirtyKnot · 03/05/2012 16:07

Meh, I think Boris will get it anyway TBH. The great CHILD, did you SEE him in those debates? I was cringing, it was like watching someone off The Apprentice!

KatieMiddleton · 03/05/2012 16:13

I'm no Boris fan. SIL likes him but she's a bit ol' Tory.

InnitDoh · 03/05/2012 18:48

Please dont go for who you ;like' or dont like'

Look at their policies, FGS. You can read, surely.

KatieMiddleton · 03/05/2012 18:53

Erm Innit are you suggesting that we like/don't like politicians for something other than their policies? Do you really think we're so daft that we form our opinions on anything other than what they say and they will do and their history of keeping their word?

Because if you're suggesting we base the decision on something like how much we like/dislike their hair or accent or how much port they are likrly to neck at a dinner party or anything other than their policies and reputation you are insulting many of us, if not all.

DialsMavis · 03/05/2012 19:04

People who are voting to UKIP, are you not worried you will give off that UKIP-esque vibe? Everyone I have ever met who has voted for them has just seemed a bit 'not quite right', not something I can put my finger on, but a definite oddball vibe. A whiff of the strange. Like that farmer who shot the burgler or Jimmy Saville, I bet they would be quite UKIP. There was usually a neighbour like that in every road- the one that you wouldn't want to go and ask for your ball back from when you were a child. I bet your friends will start to inch back when you speak, THEY WILL KNOW.....

claig · 03/05/2012 20:02

DialsMavis, I don't vote UKIP, but I don't have the contempt that you have for fellow citizens. UKIP poll higher than the media promoted Greens in many areas, in spite of the media not giving them much publicity and giving more airtime to the Greens. In spite of all the negative publicity and lack of publicity, UKIP still often poll higher than the Greens, who are often favoured by the media. That shows that the public is not stupid and is not taken in by propaganda.

EdlessAllenPoe · 03/05/2012 20:08

vote Boris. His hair is just like my toddlers. adorable!

DialsMavis · 03/05/2012 20:12

Oh god, I was only messing about, the majority of people I have met who vote UKIP have been a bit "odd" though. For example, my Mum was considering it, and she is as mad as a snake in a jar

claig · 03/05/2012 20:29

I didn't realise you were mucking about Smile.
But it is quite possible that your mum is a genius and far from as mad as a snake in a jar and that may explain why she has seen something in UKIP, because scientists tell us that there is a fine line between madness and genius

www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/6243747/Fine-line-between-genius-and-madness-scientists-find.html

DialsMavis · 03/05/2012 20:31

I actually didn't see this was in politics Smile

banditqueen · 03/05/2012 20:32

No way, under any circumstances, ever.
