PositiveAttitude · 23/03/2010 10:17

Hi ladies, Prayers all round.

Just flying by to let you all know i am still praying.

JentlyDoesIt · 23/03/2010 16:14

Hi all,

Yay for little P CD what a clever girl, how did last night go? DD had the sides of her cot removed (cotbed) a few weeks ago as she was waking her self up by rolling into them but now she has a bed guard and it works loads better - 'cept she now has worked out how to wriggle out the bottom of the bed and rattle at the door inetead!

Praying for you all, I've now had 1 week of my 2 weeks off and am feeling better, just wish I could stop being so tired the whole time. Thought I was ok to go to bluewater with a frined on Sunday, only to end up sleeping most of yesterday Prayers for strength and some "ooomph" would be greatly appreciated.

TACP - mmmm chocolate and prayers, sounds brill!

MaryBS · 24/03/2010 07:20

Prayer from 10greenbottles, on one of the older prayer threads...

"10greenbottles Tue 23-Mar-10 21:28:35
Please pray for my 20yr ol DD. She has suffered dreadful back pain for nearly 8 years. MRI, Xray, blood tests show nothing.
Referred to physio and she went today. Now wating for acupuncture!
DDsaid she felt a fraud even though pain is obvious. DD has gained some weight due to lack of mobility. Physio blamed this, making DD feel even worse. She is at uni, travelling from derby to york 3-4 times a week.
Also, blood tests have shown inflammation in her right wrist; could be rhuematoid arthritis. Her pain is severe and has been prescribed wrists splints for now. Waiting for date for scan on wrist. Thank you"

roslily · 24/03/2010 08:54

Could I join? I am trying to find my way back to God, after a long break. I have been praying and fell like there are some changes happening in my life.

Can I ask for prayers for a peaceful mind? I have suffered from mental health problems in the last few years and I want to be free of them. I am trying hard.

And for my dh, who has to put up with it!

weegiemum · 24/03/2010 08:59

... still praying ...

Welcome rosilly, nice to see you here.

I also have ongoing mh issues and am finding that meditative -type prayer is very helpful in stilling my mind - reading a passage from the Bible - or even just a verse, over and over, or just thinking about some aspect of God - it slows me down, stops my mind from racing away ....

I too long to be better and am doing a lot of therapy at the moment to work on my issues, and taking my tablets too!!

PositiveAttitude · 24/03/2010 09:19

Good morning ladies,

Welcome to roslily, prayers for you, so good that you have found us here and we will supprt you with prayer.

Hi Weegie , prayers for you. How are things going?

prayers for 10GreenBottles DD. Must be so hard for a mum to watch this going on and not be able to take it all away.

How are you TACP? Prayers for peace and a wonderful chocolate fountain tomorrow. (Must speak to our church group )

Prayers would be appreciated in this direction too please. Uncertain future in so many areas. DD1 - thanks that she is settled. DD2 - frustratingly slow recovery from Glandular fever. DD3 - very up and down, also coping with disappointment about her future, due to illness. DS - Back muscle strain causing pain - more to do with the football ban he has been given, though ! DD4 - surgery planned for next Thursday (1st) that she will stay well enough to be able to go through with the surgery. (Lifelong kidney problems) DH - Searching Gods will for his future. And me, coping with all of the above!

Many thanks ladies, have a good day!

madhairday · 24/03/2010 13:18

Welcome roslily. I will pray for peace for you. It's an exciting journey you are on, hope we can come alongside you a little.

TACP - how is it going? Have been praying for you.

Praying for 10greenbottles' dd.

Hi weegiemum

PA, praying for your dcs, what a lot they all have to cope with at the moment. Will pray for peace and calm for you all in the midst of the storm.

Would appreciate prayers for me - lungs playing up again. Sometimes the damp aggravates but it could be infection setting in so hoping it's not. I have been doing so well lately so dreading a downturn really.

teaandcakeplease · 24/03/2010 20:17

MHD - My hubby is still struggling and I'm still praying and living in limbo land hoping he'll realise what he has with us rather than OW I call her Delilah

We're going swimming tomorrow as a family.

Praying for you all ladies x

weegiemum · 24/03/2010 21:06

I'm not bad, thanks for asking.

Still incredibly tired a lot of the time, the psychotherapy sessions take it out of me and I have a lot of homework. But am still managing to get my 2 volunteering mornings in and meet all the expectations for the kids - getting them to clubs, music lessons etc ....

Looking forward to the holidays - don't come off till end of next week here, but then we have 2 weeks in the Hebrides which will be really restful.

I also indulged myself and hired a new cleaner today. I'm really struggling with the mess, have tried for 6 weeks without, but its building up slowly. She's someone I know (a student at my old college) and is nice and friendly but not intimidating and has been a pub cleaner - so even my pit of a house shouldn't faze her! She starts Monday.

Sorry, have waffled on again ....... (nothing new under the sun!)

Hermya321 · 25/03/2010 10:02

Jently Prayers for energy and pizzaz for yourself.

TACP Continued prayers for yourself and DH that he will come home to you guys. I really admire your strength in all this and pray that God continues to fill you with his spirit.

Positive Prayers for yourself as well.

Weegiemum Sometimes it's good to indulge yourself, I hope your holidays gives you the rest and relaxation you need.

Some prayers aimed in my direction would be nice as well, DH still hasn't gotten a new job yet and with LO on the way it feels that bit more urgent so to speak. We're not worrrying too much, but I don't want to get into more debt again as it always takes so long to make any headway in situations like this. I'm enjoying having some more time with him at the moment. But for his own sake and sanity, I'm praying that God will give him a permanant job.

amberlight · 25/03/2010 11:49

Hermya321 · 25/03/2010 21:14

CaptainDippy As far as I can tell, it's all going according to plan in there. I'm feeling very sicky and tired at the moment. I can't wait for this stage to pass.

stayinalive · 25/03/2010 23:08

Just wanted to thank you all for your prayers. About a year ago I wrote asking for prayers for my sister and her husband who were having problems and not sure whether they should stay together or not. They attended family therapy which they said was no use whatsoever as it did not give them anything that they hadn't already worked out by themselves. At the end of last summer, they went away together for a week without their kids and while away they seem to have found that their relationship is worth working on. They are still together adn seem to be more caring of each other and their relationship now. Praying does indeed change situations and lives.
Now for an additional request, if I may. My sister is looking for a new job and a complete career change, her current job has been a contributing factor to the stress, unhappiness and self-destructive thoughts she's been struggling with for years (long story but she didn't persue her childhood dream career at uni and has regretted the decision for the last 20 years.)
So, some extra prayers that she gets that new job would be very much appreciated. Thanks again.

MrsCadwallader · 26/03/2010 06:14

Just checking in Had a very busy couple of weeks so just catching up and praying now. Too many to mention individually but prayers for all

Continued prayers for my sister please regarding the school allocation for her DD. She's gone through a second round of visits / applications and now has a new first choice - she will find out on Tuesday whether her DD has a place. She's stressed!

(I have to add an aside my sister is quite firmly a non-believer; when we last spoke about the schools thing she had gone from being utterly distraught a few days before, to being amazed at how much she had gained from the process. Her friends had been fabulous - really supportive and some of them had even done some research / leg work for her; she had made several new friends who were in a similar position, and finally she was left with an actual real choice of schools, all of which she was very happy with. She was amazed that so much good could come out of what felt like a desperate situation I had to resist saying 'Yeah? God does have that habit.... Good job I was praying, huh?' )

CaptainDippy · 26/03/2010 12:54

Excellent stuff Mrs C Continuing to pray for school situ too xx

Hello StayinAlive - I do remember you Sooo pleased that your sis and her husband realised that it was "worth fighting for" - Much I love them, I think children put such a strain on a marriage and some time away is sorely needed for us all, I am sure. A bit of a break puts a lot of things in perspective!!! Praying your sis finds a great job soon too!! xx
