salvolatile, been there, remember how it felt...and it feels so awful not only to lose a loved one in such a way, but to feel so alone afterwards.

I read and read the Footprints poem, to remind me that God's there whether I can feel Him or not. Shall be praying for you.

And praying for everyone else too. May today bring us peace, love and friendship aplenty.

littletortie · 13/12/2009 10:24

Just an update from me....

After much praying and hoping, DH got the job he hoped for!!!!

So we will be having a very Merry Christmas without redundancy looming over us.

God Bless xxx

PositivelyFestive · 13/12/2009 16:14

salvolatile- Praying for you in your grief. For peace and comfort, especially in the hectic few weeks coming up.

littletortie - Wonderful news about DHs job. We shouldn't worry, should we? "I know the plans I have for you......." and all that, but sometimes easier said than done.

Lovebeingamummy - Hi to my book buddy and welcome here! Prayers for your family at this time.

Could I ask for some prayer flying in this direction too? DH is on our church leadership team and we have a very tricky big decision for the church to make. DH and I have prayed about this for many months and feel strongly one way, although it is against what the rest of the leadership team feel. We have really felt like we are swimming against the tide and have come before God, together and separately, and repeatedly get the same response. No way do we want to cause a rift in the church (250 members), but we keep asking why we are being told one thing from God and everyone else in the leadership team (5 others, although they all have some reservations) feel the opposite. It would have been very easy for us to shut up and go with the flow, but have felt we needed to say how we feel. There is an older couple in our church - not part of the leadership team, so do not know about this looming issue, who today approached us after church and what they said really affirmed our thoughts, although it made no sense to them. They are a couple who we really respect spiritually and have been encouraged by this. Please pray as we have to really step out of our comfort zone on Thursday evening and I know we will be verbally attacked for what we need to share with the church. Please pray for God's grace in accepting the outcome, but being strong if we need to. It is all very much in God's hands! Thank you.

notsofarnow · 13/12/2009 17:50

please pray for my nan she had a stroke on wed whilst having an xray. Only her right arm is affected but this is the Nan who is 89 and still running a shop so to her this is the worst thing ever. She is saying she doesnt want to live and my mum says she has been loosing the will for a few weeks now as she has been having trouble with her legs.

Please pray for my mum who is trying to be there for at least one meal a day so that she can help her. She and my Dad have been gutting the living room too so I think she is exausted. I'm no physical use as I am 150 miles away.

MeltedTreeChocolates · 13/12/2009 19:05

Praying for you salv, Positively and notso tortie great news!

DutchOma · 13/12/2009 20:44

Praying for all in need, especially Salvolatile. Losing faith is a horrible thing to happen and the only thing I can say is that you sometimes need to affirm that God is still Who He was an while ago that it comes down to praise through gritted teeth:- I will praise the Lord. God is still the same as He was last year. If you sat in the cupboard under the stairs with a blanket over your head on a rainy day and said:-"The sun lnoger exits", would that make a difference to the existence of the sun?

We just had the most wonderful day:- dd won a MN competion to go on the London Eye, with five other adults and 12 children. We didn't quite manage all the children (we had five) but the whole experience exceeded all expection.
We went round twice, with Father Christmas on board and drinks and nibbles, which are not usually allowed on the flights.
Father Christmas was very wonderful, his rendition of Rudolph the rednosed reindeer unforgettable and there were presents for all the children too.
Thank you dd for inviting us and thank you MN and London Eye for such a wonderful day

I would really appreciate it if
you could say a little prayer for me that I feel a bit more balanced and happy.

Much love to all, I do try and catch up occaisionally

xx

MeltedTreeChocolates · 14/12/2009 21:34

Praying for you Jently

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 15/12/2009 08:12

PositivelyFestive - you'll understand some of my comments more now Will add you to my prayers, there is a reason this couple came and spoke to you it was to tell you that you are on the right track and must speak out.

notsofarnow - praying for your nan to get her fighting sprit back and for her health. Also for your mum and dad its hard to look after your parents like this.

Also praying for myjob and jently.

PositivelyFestive · 15/12/2009 09:46

LBAM - Yes, I do understand more now, and I am so sorry! Praying for you and your family, especially over the Christmas time.
Thanks for the encouragement about speaking up! I do know that I am going to have to, but feel a bit like Moses saying to God that he was really the wrong person for the job. There are so many more assertive, capable people in the church why on earth did God pick me who likes to sit at the back and keep quiet? I am trying to convince myself that God has not got it wrong this time!

myjob - Prayers that you all recover and can enjoy a lovely family Christmas.

Jently - Prayers for you too. For God's peace and love to surround you.

And for everyone else on here.

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 15/12/2009 12:11

PositivelyFestive - So it will be good for the church and for you

MeltedTreeChocolates · 15/12/2009 12:50

Prayers that my DS wont get the bug I have please, and that the outcome of my docs apointment today will be a good one. Thanks

DutchOma · 15/12/2009 14:53

LBAM God didn't get it wrong with Moses and He won't have got it wrong with you. But you will only find out it you act on the Holy Spirit feeling you have within you before you can find out what exactly it is that God wants you to do.

CaptainDippy · 15/12/2009 15:58

Have been lurking here and would like to ask for prayers for my elderly grandmother who has just been diagnosed with a blockage/tumour in her intestine. She is very frail and unlikely to survive surgery or chemo/radiotherapy. Not sure what to pray for really - I guess that the end when it comes is as dignified and painless as possible.

Welcome Newlark. Praying for peace for you and your family and most of all for your dear grandmother, that she will feel surrounded by love and the peace that only the Lord Jesus can bring.

MeltedTreeChocolates · 17/12/2009 21:24

Hi newlark glad you decided to post. Prayers for your grandmother, peace and comfort, and for you and all your family aswell. x

amberlight · 18/12/2009 09:35

Prayers continuing for all here.

Could do with one for ds, having discovered that his own eye condition is worsening rapidly, which means we may well be looking at radical changes in his life and activities unless they can find an answer
