isenhart7 · 13/04/2009 16:41

Question:

"blood curling"- is this another of Steiner's anthroposophical beliefs?

Answer:

Not that I know of-I think it may be an American slang:

bloodcurling

adjective. makes your blood curl in fright.
He let out a bloodcurling scream

yes, we know what WTF means, but have no idea what the OP , the questoin you ask re bloodcurdling, has to do with anthroposophy

littlelamb · 13/04/2009 18:16

I cn't take credit for hte hobbits. It was linked on a thread where I was asking why I should read LOTR. Still can't be bothered haven't found the time, but the hobbit song amuses me on a regular basis.
ANd isenhart, your post is frankly odd from someone who only posts on the steiner threads.
Just a tip for the future, why not post on a site with a less thorough search facility

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 18:17

See individually the words are sensible but are put ina random order it seems.

A Bit Andre Preview, yes? [inserts Two Ronnies joke]

nevergoogledragonbutter · 13/04/2009 18:24

is it weirdo or wierdo?

TIA

isenhart7 · 13/04/2009 18:25

for littlelamb

Nothing that I know of, Lulu. But then again, I don't actually know what bloodcurdling is.

OP posts:
northernrefugee39 · 13/04/2009 18:25

justa- someone posted typo, I think- saying "blood curling" rather than "blood curdling"- on another thread.

But why it's been taken up here I really have no answer.

Littlelamb-having a thorough (advanced)search facility, as mumset does, is only of benefit if it is actually used.

littlelamb · 13/04/2009 18:33

ANd use it I have
rumbled

LuluisgoingtobeanAunty · 13/04/2009 18:33

so, why have you titled your question 'antrhosopospy[ wtf?' and then asked a totally different question about the phrase bloodcurdling. in the philosophy/religion section

why not post in chat or pedants' corner if you wanted to know about a phrase?

or title your OP - WTF does bloodcurdling mean>

nevergoogledragonbutter · 13/04/2009 18:38

nobody has answered my question yet.

Barking · 13/04/2009 18:46

loving your links littlelamb
If Isenhart is well, then we may just have stumbled upon the love child of Alan Partridge and Mystic Meg.

northernrefugee39 · 13/04/2009 18:50

Barking you are a wit....

dizietsma · 13/04/2009 18:53

LOL, what?

Seriously, this thread is totally obscure to me. Anyone link to the original kerfuffle?

JuxaLOTmoreChocolate · 13/04/2009 18:54

@ Barking

JuxaLOTmoreChocolate · 13/04/2009 18:57

Dragonbutter, my dictionary says weird

Yet another example of the English language being so logical.

JuxaLOTmoreChocolate · 13/04/2009 19:01

So OP, [gazing earnestly into eyes and resting chin on hand], why do ask a question about common phrases and title it with "Anthroposophy-WTF?".

Forgive us, but we mere mortals tend to expect a thread title to reflect the nature of the thread, which is usually laid out in the OP.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 20:02

Jux you are my very favourite poster du jour

isenhart7 · 13/04/2009 20:34

Again, so sorry Juxe if this thread has caused you any inconvenience or confusion. A poster asked if bloodcurling was an anthroposophical belief. You say this question is about common terms yet, as I understand it, you don't have this word in the UK so I don't know how it is that you consider it common. I have heard this word, and perhaps because of that, I took the question to be about anthroposophy.

OP posts:
JuxaLOTmoreChocolate · 13/04/2009 21:45

Aw BALD I've never been so flattered!

ABetaDad · 13/04/2009 21:52

BoysAreLikeDogs - I am right with you. [confused emoticon]

I understand:

bloodcurdling = frightening cry

curling = Scottish game with stones and ice

blood = bodily fluid carries oxygen

I am struggling with the rest and am usually quite well in to religion and philosophy.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 22:06

This is like a stealth reveal of what the OP is on about.

Cept I can't be arsed.

Ho hum

weebump · 13/04/2009 22:13

What's going on here? Is this another tedious thread about a thread that I haven't read? I'm getting v tired of this sort of thing.
