Hope you and Mary are having a wonderful day on Sunday and that dh can have some input in dd's anger. Men sometimes can have a hugely different take on problems like that.

Hi Ladies,

I would really appreciate some prayers for a couple of silly things. Ongoing prayers for embarrassing health problems would be great. Also, I'm very upset (have cried 3 times) since picking DD up from nursery earlier. I won't go into the details but I saw for myself why she doesn't like being dropped off there. Now I don't know what to do as I need some childcare on top of the childminder covering my work days because of my NVQ. I'm really picky about childcare and don't think that I'm going to find anyone who I trust like I do our childminder. I don't know how to decide what makes 'good enough' childcare. I hate the fact that I have to leave DD and am upset that I feel that I have to compromise on how she is looked after.

CaptainDippy · 20/06/2008 21:49

and Lots of love & prayers for you both and for your respective DDs. xx

Off to bed as I am exhausted. Away for the w/e as it's my feisty granny's 90th!!

Prayers for everyone on what seems to be a very wet day here in the non-sunny South.

JentlyDoesIt · 21/06/2008 14:14

Happy Birthday CD's Granny!

Prayers for Rosey and SS

Mary - I can't find your email address, so sorry. I don't mind posting mine on here, it is jen dot holmes at hotmail dot co dot uk. If you could email me then I'll email back!

Miserable day here. DS playing up and DD won't be put down had a wobble earlier as rather than try and complete one of the rooms of the house he has started on, DP decided to knock a wall down between 2 sheds. Now everywhere is really dusty and there still isn't one room in the house that is done [grr]

notsofarnow · 21/06/2008 20:41

evening all. I should bedoing NVQ work but hey ho.

cd i have a fiesty granny too she's 87 and still running a shop. The only way she'll give it up is when she's in a box.

MaryBS · 22/06/2008 17:06

Well, Rosey and I "survived" our visit to a charismatic evangelical church in Cambridge, and I think we found it a very positive and enjoyable experience (at least, I did!), a 2 hour service, complete with 50 minute sermon (which was v. good, v inspirational). Praise God for all styles of worship!

CaptainCaveman · 22/06/2008 19:22

Praise God Mary and Rosey for your 'outing'. I'm really glad you survived and enjoyed it!

Prayers for you SS, Rosey, JDI and all lovely ladies on this thread.

Am feeling super hormonal and crying at anything (pg hormones!). I just cried when the female contestant on gladiators made it up the travelator.....

Also, came home from church in tears as ds was being naughty. We eventually left early due to him not listening to my requests for him to behave himself. He also got told off by one of the sunday school teachers for fiddling with the acetate on the overhead projector whilst we were singing. I thought he was really harsh, he stopped playing the guitar and told Tom off in front of the entire group..."Thomas, stop fiddling with that, you are being stupid and ruining it for everyone else". Ds didn't cry but I have no idea how I stopped myself crying!!

CaptainDippy · 22/06/2008 20:28

CC - & @ at church person - no fair - he's only 4.5 yrs - grrrrr! Sorry it has been trying day for you - eat lots of chocolate and rest!

Had an ok weekend, so that my amazing granny is 90!

Had a text from Sooooz earlier to say her puter been attack by Trojan Horses So she's getting it sorted, then she'll be back

MaryBS · 22/06/2008 22:40

CCM - that was COMPLETELY out of order by the Sunday School teacher! I'd complain if I were you!

AND shame on him for upsetting a pregnant woman!

dh40k · 22/06/2008 23:05

I'm an occasional lurker here and in the Men's Room. DW, bottersnike, is a regular lurker and occasional poster who has taken a lot of comfort and thought from Christian mumsnetters.

Bottersnike has just been taken into hospital by ambulance a few minutes ago and I know she'd appreciate "arrow" prayers from any mumsnetters reading this. I'm at home looking after DS1&2 (5 and 2), totally unable to sleep.

Please, God, look after my lovely girl and bring her safe back to me...

DH40K

worzella · 22/06/2008 23:09

Praying for you and your wife and family

MaryBS · 23/06/2008 04:22

Praying DH40K for God to protect your DW and bring her safely home to you and your children. Please let us know how she is, or hopefully she'll be posting here herself to let us know...

IdrisTheDragon · 23/06/2008 09:32

Can you pray for MartianBishop and her family please?

Her DH died this morning

here

Notquitegrownup · 23/06/2008 09:38

Special prayers for Bottersnike and the DH40k family, and for MB and her dcs.

God bless all.

CaptainCaveman · 23/06/2008 10:03

Praying for MB and family at their sad loss .
Prayers too for DH40k and Bottersnike, Lord wrap them up in your tender care and bring her safely home to her family very soon.

Roseylea · 23/06/2008 11:05

Praying for MB and family - be with them now Lord as they remember and grieve.

Praying for your dw, DH40K - hope she is well looked after in hospital and able to come home very soon.

and a bit [angry} at the Sunday school teacher, CCM! Not very nice.

Well, Mary and I had a great little outing to the church in Cambridge!

I could really really do with some prayers today please. I have an importanrt meeting, with me and dh, at home tonight, and:

  1. the house is a tip
  2. Dh is working late tonight and will only get home just before the meeting
  3. I'm in a complete state of panic! Help me please Lord!
CaptainCaveman · 23/06/2008 11:26

Deep breaths Rosey - there is a fantastic website (if you get 5 mins to look at it) called Uncommon Knowledge. ON there they have the panic prevention programme which I have used to GREAT effect. Prayers of calmness and wisdome heading your way x

CaptainCaveman · 23/06/2008 11:26

how did that extra e sneak onto the end of wisdom??

DutchOma · 23/06/2008 11:29

Can you say one of the 'formula' prayers? Lighten our darkness? Almighty God unto whom all hearts are open? Say one of them until you mean it and then start to clear a space around you. Praying for you and with you.

Roseylea · 23/06/2008 11:29

Thank you CCM! I have actually calmed down andf, thank you Lord, got a strategy! Which involves a cup of tea, loud music to get me going, buying some flowers to make the place look pretty, and taking ds out for lunch at Sainsburys as we don't actually have any food in the house...

Roseylea · 23/06/2008 11:31

The loud music, DO, is a worship CD with "How great is our God", a beautiful new worship song which really does lift my heart and my eyes to heaven. Sometimes with me worship music reaches the parts that words alone can't.

DutchOma · 23/06/2008 12:40

Yes, I know what you mean. How great is our God is a beautiful song, although I am happiest with the more traditional forms of worship and not so good with 'loud'.
Glad you are coping a bit better.

CaptainDippy · 23/06/2008 12:44

Praying for DH40k's DW and for MB and family as they deal with the loss of MrMB >

Any more new DH40K?? xx

Praying for peace and calm and a good meeting my sweet.
