@speakout I have been teaching a lot of grounding themed yoga classes recently. Earth element/root chakra is a great theme.

It really is starting to feel like autumn now, the days are managing to be both sunny and warm, as well as cooler and cloudy. I do love this liminal time of year, the remainung warmth feels fragile and precious.

I think many of us on this thread love autumn quirkychick . I always feel a huge sigh, a start of unwinding as the shadows creep in and the eveniing gets darker. I ordered myself a set of essential oils which arrived yesterday. I use a lot of essential oils in work and personal use anyway, but my own stock was getting low. Now I have worked out how to use them like a wax melt then it is much easier than using a water bath. The kit contains some oils I have never tried before, so I am looking forward to using them.
Work has been busy, but I have been working all weekend while OH is off work, so have been able to work with no interruptions. I have tons of packages to take to the post office, then have to do a suprmarket shop for me and my Mum.

The shop can be confusing, I make a split in my trolley and run two lists, I really don't want to go twice, and things can get tricky at checkout. Will be ALDI today, I need cleansing balm and shampoo for myself and I have a desire to make some kind of root vegetable stew, I will get some seasonal fruit too.

If anyone has recipes for autumn food or essential oil blends I would love to hear!

I get married on Friday, so I have been totally in my head with the final bits for that and have a huge mix of emotions. I am really looking forward to our day though.

I am doing a wee remembrance table, and i have a wee paganish blessing for it. I have requested that its me that puts it all together. I didnt want a stranger doing it, who might not put the right energy into it. I bought bud vases and plan on putting some rosemary and sage in them. Sadly wasnt allowed real candles, but have some lovely wee fake ones. And I bought a lovely rust colour tablecloth for it.

We have a lot of people doing wee poems and wee short speeches, a song for everyone to do and a lovely blessing for after our vows. So I am hoping all of that will bring me good energy and happiness to get through the day. I will be missing my mum a lot. I have had a few wobbles the past couple of months cos she wont be there.

I really love autumn too 🍂 but I am hoping the weather goddess is on my side on friday!! Lol! I will bury a sausage...(not sure why that is lore... lol, I could have better understood maybe anything else, but a sausage? 🤣)

I have a busy week with a mix of getting pampered and trying to get my house in order. Its a but of a huvvle the now. Mess everywhere. So if I get that sorted, my brain will feel more peaceful.

I got dried and preserved flowers for my bouquet, here is a wee pic. Xx

I'm currently sitting in the garden for a quick break before teaching. The whole morning has been a flurry of activity and admin - a lot of which I hadn't planned for! Most of it is good: prospective work and opportunities, but I've booked myself in for a Yoga Reset this evening, which is restorative and Yin based. I know I'll feel better for it.

Well the " new" second hand sofa snd armchair arrived today and thefurniture charity then decided it couldn't take my old sofa after all. Which was annoying as it is in good condition with fire labels etc. So now the front room is full of sofas and chairs and cushions. At least the cat has plenty of choice.
I am quietly threading rowan berries onto red thread to make protective charms. The trees grow wild near my mother's memorial bench and when I asked if I could take some berries they rustled in the breeze and waved their leafy fingers at me. I took that as a yes.

Your room looks lovely @Hedjwitch and your cat looks really cosy. Your rowan berry protective charms sound interesting.

Our visiting black cat was out this evening as I was picking herbs to put in the stew. It seemed very autumnal.

Hello, sisters, I’ve been catching up slowly with all your posts. I disappeared into a very odd place this year in which I lost touch with many of the things that sustain me. I can see that this year has been filled with change and loss for many of you - @Hedjwitch I’m sorry for your loss and I hope you are finding your way on this strange new path.

I’ve had an odd year with some unsettled energy and, it seems, the ending of a long friendship; not the outcome I would have wanted but sadly inevitable because I had to tell the person I couldn’t fulfil a big promise I made because my life circumstances have changed.

Mr Crafty is getting frailer and his memory is poor. It’s becoming harder to recall the person he used to be. We’re having a few days away in a part of the world near where I grew up. It’s a lovely and magical part of England and I hope it restores us to be here.

I've started gathering some autumn things: feathers, conkers, pinecones and put them in a tall glass vase to honour the time of year.

I had an amazing day, yesterday. I did a taster vinyasa yoga training (I'm hoping to do more) with two amazing, extremely experienced teachers. I also re-connected with other yoga teacher friends and met some new ones. We talked about how to create flow state, intention and expand the window of tolerance - so interesting!

Hello @Ceridwen83 and @hilariousnamehere . I'm typing this with the neighbour's black cat on my lap and ravens circling in the cloudy sky above. It feels quite autumnal now.

It does, there's been a definite nip in the air overnight the last couple of nights here.

Feeling slightly more settled today, got bestie home from her big cancer op on Thursday night and we had a few hours just catching up properly yesterday which was really nice - the hospital bit was terrifying and the news from it wasn't great but yesterday felt much more like the usual restorative time we spend together so that was good.

I now need to channel @speakout and find some magic in the mundane because following that and a summer of adventures preceding it, my house is a disaster and my business is in need of some TLC and marketing, and I just want to curl up with a book!

I know how you feel! I'm a tutor and the last few weeks have been September madness with new students and organising my work. I'm also supposed to be finishing an online exam course and getting back to fitness after illness/injury. The house and garden need some serious tlc and I need sleep and a rest!

Evenings are coming more quickly now as we head into shorter days and low light. I am planning another shoji wall screen lamp for another area of my house. The one I made is so effective, very uplifting.
hilariousnamehere if we can find magic in the mundane then we have cracked it. Every sip of tea, every blink, every sunrise becomes sacred. I find magic more readily by reframing it. Magic isn't the "out there" stuff, it's within us too. We are part of the universe, every atom in our body was forged in the heart of distant stars billions of years ago. we have trillions of neutrinos passing through our brains every second. Quantum entanglement is wild to consider, the universe is not something outside us, we are part of the one, the whole. We are the universe looking back at itself. When we look up at night skies we see the very same material we are made of.

We are all made of stardust, as they say. I love that science is catching up with ancient wisdom.

I'm sitting in the garden with the firepit going, watching the images in the flames. Wishing you all a good week ahead.

@Ceridwen83 we've only had one this last year or so, as before we had dd2 here who has complex needs. It's so nice to be freer to do these things. There's something so primal about a fire. Blessings for the equinox!

Hello! I've been lurking for a while and have finally taken the plunge to post. I don't know if I call myself a witch - I have been drawn to the magical side of life as long as I can remember, I've experimented with spellcasting and affirmations for years, and use an oracle deck and crystal ball I've had for 30+ years for guidance. Anyway, hello again, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all x

I love your firepit too quirkychick It looks like the one I have just bought. I had a look at your flames yesterday, and could see images- I can share if you like. My fire pan is still in the box, I need to do some pruning before I can safely have a fire, I have a plum tree in my garden which is getting way too boisterous, and now some branches over the area I will use for a fire. so that needs cut back, but I want to wait until after leaf fall as the job will be easier. I have bought some sachets of mineral salts, to hopefully have a fire show.

A warm welcome PurpleSuedeBoots , grab a comfy spot by the fire. I am glad you have joined us. It isn't necessary to use the term witch, I think that is complex thing, and a matter of choice, but doesn't change who we are.

I had a lovely day with my daughter yesterday, we had lunch in a little seaside village, and went for a walk along the beach. She is going through life changes and making decisions right now so we did a lot of talking. She spotted a hag stone for me, and we talked of witchcraft. She too talked of the word witch and said " They call us witches, but all that means is that men are afraid of us". Very true.
I am feeling the time for seasonal movies- any recommendations? I am not a huge fan of The Craft or Practical Magic, but enjoyed The Witches of Eastwick- I have watched that a number of times. Any other suggestions gratefully received!
