FAQ praying for your vicar, that she gets the help and support she sounds like she needs. It must be hard to be in a position of authority like that and suddenly be so vulnerable too.

SS, praying for Bob and your dd, that you are both better soon. And for your friend too CD - hee hee, I'm praying for CD's best friends boob!!

Mary your words often touch me, what you said about learning to love yourself as we are made in His image spoke to me. Thank you. I would love to hear you preach some day though - our vicar is always forgetting things but he's quite a funny chap so I don't think anyone is offended by it.

Bobsmum, how was dh when you told him about ds' incident at school? Praying it went well and dh was supportive.

I'm very thankful of a warm cosy house when the weather is cold and windy like it is tonight. Lord comfort those less fortunate than ourselves, who may not have the luxury of shelter and warmth. May they find a dry and sheltered place to sleep, and may they know your love and warmth to help them through the cold night.

swalismum praying for bob.

and the rest of you lovely ladies that i've failed to mention.

MaryBS · 22/03/2008 10:53

Keep at it, NSFN, it'll be worth it in the end, promise. It'll be done in God's own time, He can't be rushed. As well as letting the pain go, you have to trust that he will heal you and leave it up to him how and when. I'm really trying to do that myself. Sometimes I feel I'm getting there, sometimes I feel I'm right back where I started or worse. But if I don't trust in Him to sort me out, how can I ask others to do the same? If I can't take my troubles to him, who can I take them to? He knows me inside and out, he knows me perfectly, as no-one else does. Who else better to advise me?

{hugs}

MaryBS · 22/03/2008 19:44

Happy Easter everyone. Prayers for everyone and their situations.

I'm either going to be brave or silly, because I've decided to try a different church and go to the service today at 10am. Not sure how I'll manage but I'm doing it anyway...

DutchOma · 23/03/2008 07:35

HALLELUJAH CHRIST IS RISEN. DEATH WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY?

And it's SNOWING

Happy Easter everyone

DutchOma · 23/03/2008 07:36

A VERY HAPPY EASTER TO ALL YOU LOVELIES
breakfast in church at 9, followed by easter egg hunt for the children, then service, great stuff
i saw the film, "the passion of the christ", on friday night, isnt it amazing, if you havent see it try to, but there are a few hands over eyes moments.

MaryBS · 23/03/2008 08:11

I've been wishing everyone a Happy Christmas, as its so pretty! [hmm[ Just got back in from my second Vigil - I went to the Cathedral for the 5:30am, the service was two hours!!! It was such a wonderful service, I felt really empty at the beginning, but by the end, I felt filled with the spirit (hope nobody saw me crying! ). While the choir was singing the Sanctus, I felt all overcome with joy and the tears were trickling down my face!

HALLELUJAH HE IS RISEN INDEED HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH

MaryBS · 23/03/2008 08:12

Oh and Amber - that's fantastic news - God give you strength and quell your anxiety. Remember you are doing it for Him and for yourself, and that is what counts. God go with you, anyhow.

HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HE IS RISEN!

Roseylea · 23/03/2008 09:32

Happy Easter!

He is risen!

Hallelujah!

And wow the snow! Isn't it amazing?!

Mary I am in awe of you getting up to go to the cathedral at 5.30 - so glad it was a blessing to you.

Well I have had / am having a very blessed Easter. We had our Walk of Witness through the town centre on Good Friday and my job was to walk alongside the cross-bearers and to set the pace for them - their instinct was to go quickly as the 8 ft cross was so heavy, but of course there were hundreds of people walking behind, some in wheelchairs, walking with sticks, young children etc. It was an odd experience walking directly next to the cross, and did make me think what it must have been like to walk up the hill to Golgotha with Jesus. I thought there was something quite symbolic in there too - by walking alongside the cross, I was able to keep everyone walking at the same pace, to keep the procession together.

We'v had some other lovly services, too, but the walk was particularly memorable to me this year. The leader of the service at the end said "We have come from many churches, but today we are one church together" which I thought was very powerful and a little fortetaste of heaven.

So we are off to church in a mo, and then on to lunch with my family - yesterday it was a big lunch with dh's lot - lots of food!

Hvae a great Easter Day!

NorthernLurker · 23/03/2008 09:54

Happy Easter! He is risen indeed!

CaptainDippy · 23/03/2008 11:41

He is risen!!!!! [smeil]

Snow here too!

In-laws had older 2 last night () and P has only just woken up!!!! So we've been naughty and been in bed instead of going to church To be fair our church decided that "as all the families with DC's are going away this Easter , then there won't be anything for them to do (i.e. no creche / kid's club etc)" So we were also boycotting for a reason - Grrrr!

Anyway, who cares - HE is risen!!

OP posts:
amber32002 · 23/03/2008 13:23

I did it!!!!
I went to church! I'm SO happy
Thank you everyone...

DutchOma · 23/03/2008 14:31

I couldn't be more pleased for you. How did it all go?
Our baptismal service was amazing:- five people baptized, one walking with great difficulty into the baptistry because she had an accident two years ago which prevented her from being baptised then, one who had great difficulty reading out her testimony because she has been treated as 'backward' all her life. Now she stands before Jesus as His precious daughter. Two young people and a man who hasn't been in the church long, but became a church member not long ago, now he has followed it with his baptism.
God is great indeed.

ZipadiSuzy · 23/03/2008 15:14

Indeed CD - Jesus is risen, praise the lord, Allelujah!!!!

Nice to get a lie in, I didn't get up till 10am, dc wanted to go to church aswell (bad mummy)

Mary & Rosey - You sound as if you are both having an uplifting easter Congratulations

No snow here, except a few falls now and then.

FAQ · 23/03/2008 17:36

Well I have an update on our Vicar. After she was taken to KeyDoc on Friday afternoon she was admitted straight into St. Mary's Hospital in Kettering, which is the Mental Health one there - so it sounds like my thoughts that it was some sort of breakdown are correct .

With me, well I'm struggling at the moment. My house is a complete mess and I'm struggling to find the motivation to tidy up/wash up/vaccuum etc etc. I want to do it, I need to do it but I just can't seem to get myself going to sort it all out.

I've spent most of the afternoon sleeping/dozing on the sofa - only got up just now as I need to cook dinner for the DS's.....

WalnutEGGshell · 23/03/2008 17:59

oh it's so hard to motivate yourself once you are in that frame of mind.

what about a quick tidy, wash up and then get up early tomorrow and tackle it before you have time to think about it?!

CaptainDippy · 23/03/2008 18:18

{{{{FAQ}}}} Is there a friend who could come round to "tackle" it with you!!? Just to get you kick-started ......

Your poor vicar Praying for her. Is she married? Does she have family??

OP posts:
FAQ · 23/03/2008 18:27

No she's not married, has a sister who lives about 1 1/2hr drive away (when she's not in Florida - she also has a house out there and spends a lot of time there). Her dad passed away about 1 1/2yrs ago, and her mum is in a nursing home.

Someone has offered to come round and help me clean on Wednesday.......but I can't even begin to imagine what it's going to look like by then
