I'm contemplating visiting a psychic or palm reader to give me some insight on where my life is heading.
My question: are psychics real?
Anyone have experiences of psychic predictions that came true or just experiences of things they knew about you before you opened up to them?
Please share and advise. ❤️

Hi there. I work as a Psychic and when i first started, it was a bit of fun with the Tarot Cards. As i've developed, what has happened has been extraordinary.

Ive been able to describe people, situations and places with accuracy, get specific names and dates of people involved in a situation and read the tarot cards and be able to do what i feel is 'rambilng on' but pinpoint very specific things. After a while of this i began doing mediumship too. I didnt mean to, it just sort of happened. It has been an emormous privilage. It freaked me out initially and i felt it to be a tremendous responsibility. I wont and dont do it as a rule. I think its disgraceful that people will claim to connect with loved ones who have died. I have had some support and my experiences conformed from a very well established medium who has worked with the police, but still feel relucant to use this ability. Ive also had a session with Uri Gellar which was fascinating. These experiences have all really demystified psychic abilities. Its all quite normal and most people are capable.

Over the last couple of years ive given guidance to people in Banking, Media Industry, Heads of Local Authority Departments; ive had many people come back to me for a second reading. It has suprised me as to the kind of people that seek guidance from psychics. Despite my record so far i will not claim any particular gifts. In reality only 75% of a read is spot on on the best of days and this is standard across the very best psychics out there. There are also variables that effect a read. Tiredness, client, what youve eaten, collective stress in the world, the weather, the lunar cycles.

Yes, it is genuine. Yes, it can be really helpful way of getting clarity and a good Psychic will tune into things in ways we cant ourselves when we are in the thick of it.

However there is a whole lot of bullshit out there too and people who do this can run on ego and they wlll end up tripping up or being exploitative. A lot of psychics are exploited too. Some of my wealthy customers treat me like a dumping ground and can have rediculous expectations and disregard the process.

Choose very carefully where you go for a reading. There are so many variables.

But yes, go for it. I have had may readings over the years and a handful have been game changes. Theyve jarred me into seeing things clearly and prompted my need to take action. Ive also had some predictions come to be too.

Look for a psychic or psychic company that is ethical, honest and has integrity too.

There’s a really good Derren Brown programme on psychics. I would watch that first.

Of course it's not real. Some deluded people will believe they are psychic, most will just be scam artists. They prey on the vulnerable.

It's worth watching Derren Brown demonstrate how these people operate. You'll find a lot of him on Youtube.

When I was on a stand at a mind, body and spirit fair two psychics came on and asked for the Jesus Deck readings we were doing. These are playing cards with the story of Jesus' life on them. We would used them as a conversation starter with people. We can't and don't practice divination. I knew these two were psychics straight away as they sat very still so that I couldn't cold read them - says a lot.

My friend persuaded me to see one following my first husband's death. I was only 27 though and very difficult to cold read because I'm autistic and have a very unusual background - nothing anyone could possibly guess about me. Of course the 'psychic' got everything wrong 😄 and I actually felt embarrassed for her. She did pick up on me having a bad right leg, but that was probably because I have a slight limp 🙄🤦‍♀️

Yes psychics are real, well some are. I've tried quite a few, I am in my 50s now so have had plenty of time to! it's not the sort of thing I do for fun, got better things to do with my money then, but I turned to them when struggling emotionally, it took me a lot of attempts to find a good one, the phone line ones were a big disappointment, and the local ones, the bored housewife type, in the end I went to a lovely lady Rosemary Price clairvoyant psychic, but it meant I had to consult her by phone. Not a problem and very helpful. Personally I would never go to someone for fun, but each to their own.
My brother is not really into this type of thing but when he started to get a situation at work which worried him a lot he asked me about it and he tried her too and also very pleased.
Most my family and friends are not into this stuff. I started to learn how to do the tarot cards when the lock down was on, it's slow, very slow, and I will never be good enough to charge for it or do it properly but it's interesting.

I am interested in "the woo" and have seen a few, by way of exploring.

I feel like the vast majority are charlatans playing on peoples vulnerability. I saw a local male one some years ago, who seemed to be putting on dramatic expressions to make himself seem like he was receiving some messages. He said some very rude and hurtful things, some relating to my appearance. I still can't believe I paid him. A friend had an appointment with him and I strongly advised her not to go, she rang me the same night to say he'd been vile to her. I think he got off on it to be honest.

Some years prior one of our neighbours, who had been bereaved in very difficult circumstances, swore by a certain individual.
This individual was so far off the mark with me that I didn't know what to say to the neighbour, as I knew she wholeheartedly believed this individual could "talk" to her dead loved one, I didn't feel I had the right to take that comfort away from her, but he was very much exploiting, her, the situation and the family at large.

I feel like I am "done" where psychics are concerned now

Very, very, rarely maybe twice has someone said something genuinely a bit psychic to me. Certainly try, but check reputation and cost (usually £20-30) and really think about if your happy to lose that money if you find yourself in a situation in which you are being obviously cold read and nothing resonates

I saw one once and she told me that I was going to have a military wedding. I was single at the time and didn't take any notice of.

3 years later I had a military wedding.

I had a tarot reading over 30 years ago. She got 2 things right, about a future relationship and a place I was going to spend a lot of time in. I think that I remembered those 2 things because they coincided with what actually happened in my life; I am sure I have forgotten a lot of other things she said because they didn't happen. I don't believe she actually predicted my future.

I think I may be "sensitive" in some way. I've had a lot of dreams with messages that have turned out to be interesting to say the least. I've had dreams about loved ones who passed on and gave specific messages for a family member and it's been a little scary when they knew exactly what was being talked about (when I had no clue).

I'm very hesitant to talk about it. I only tell certain family who understand and don't judge.

I don't see things, I don't take medication nor need to. I'm very grounded. I have always been deeply spiritual and at one point I had to refrain from praying (as part of my religion) and also meditation because things happened.

I'd get clear pictures in my mind or words. When someone asks for the gender of their baby I see a colour and the word and haven't been wrong yet. It's all a bit woo and I don't know what to think but there you go.

I wanted to add my experience. I haven't been to a psychic myself so nothing to report there. I did use tarot as a teen and had to stop as kept getting strong feelings and mental images about the person I was reading for. I'd say what I felt and the person being read for (more messing round as teens) burst into tears because I somehow knew. I don't even know what to make of it myself. I don't spend too much time dwelling but I do have an interest in what others think about it.

I've had prophetic dreams, or in one sense, a 'flash' of insight whilst awake.

Twice they involved the terminal illnesses and deaths of two of the people closest to me (my Mum and Gran). Once - this only last week - was a warning, I think of a RTA, where I dreamed of blue sirens and rows of traffic. Our local A road has had three serious accidents in the past week owing to black ice, with two cars ending up on their roofs. On the third occasion I was snarled up in traffic for nearly two hours and wasn't able to complete my commute: I had to call into work and advise them I was turning around and going home.

I have the unshakeable sense that I dodged something serious on that day.

On the other hand, I was seriously injured in an accident this summer and I didn't see that one coming!

I'm still unsure as to whether I believe these were merely coincidence. The strongest ones were about my mum and gran but I could merely have picked up subconsciously that something about them was different or just not right. My gran would already have had her illness at the time I did this. My Mum's was still some way in the future, though (and hers was a condition that started and progressed very quickly - 5 weeks from showing the first symptoms to her death).

I just don't know.

NB. I'm new to tarot, very much still learning. But I don't see the cards as psychic messengers. I simply view them as a guide to my own intuition.

Absolutely. Its an extrordinary tool. If you start reading for others you will find the doorway to other abilities just opens naturally. Psychic ability is largely intuition.

There are also deceased loved ones and guides that throw things at you telapathically. (kinda like flashcards) Its just a process. I had it explained to me by someone who has worked for the police.

I gave a reading yesterday and before i spoke to the person (it was over zoom) i had a searing pain in my right calf. The womans child had just broken her right calf.

My next customer; i saw a large white space that looked like a warehouse. I said 'i feel like im seeing your work' and described it. He said 'yes' i work in an art gallery'

Its nothing mystical. Its simply science. People arent comfortable with it for a whole host of reasons, some of them well justified! We can all access this part of our brains with techniques and training.

Absolutely. I think our doubt is healthy. You will have had this experience and you will have had it because you were open to it and you were protected.

It is bimmimg extrordinary. Ive always been a bit of a skeptic but having met some very grounded and very respectable people in this world i have no doubt.

I met a medium for coffee and a bit of advice recently as i started mediumship. I was so reassured. It felt like meeting with a university lecturer or higher level professional. Nothing about it felt wierd. Only the conversation (in a nice little bar) about the realities that there are departed souls hanging around us that want to communicate. (and what the technicalities of that are) Trust it! It not mystical, its fact.

Trust it!! We all have these abilities. Dont doubt it. It comes more easily to some than to others. It sounds like it comes super easily to you.

We are socialised by our culture to think its all bullshit. Therefore we doubt it.

I only get people paying me because its seen as 'Woo' and exciting. If we all just got on with it i'd be out of a job. Quite homestly i hope thats what happens.

I saw one last week who only had my name. As soon as she saw me she explained how things had ended between me and my ex, none of this information has been put online or social media. In fact some people don’t even know we’ve split. She also mentioned things about the relationship that I hadn’t told anyone.

OP I think a genuine one is vanishingly rare, but have met one. I have often thought how much I'd like to see her again.

I read tarot for myself occasionally. I find it helps make sense of things.

I'm fascinated by mediums and psychics and I think there might be something in it. I am quite intuitive myself.

I've seen a few psychics and mediums over the years. One medium and one psychic were good but both seem to have disappeared from my area.

I recently treated myself to a reading and was left feeling a bit down. The medium told me that spirit want me to do more work on myself before I can find a relationship. I don't like the idea of spirit controlling things like that in my life and even Fred West had a partner. I don't think he did much work on himself.

The medium was also depressingly blunt about how much a family member disliked me.

I won't be going back to that medium again!

The bible condemns it because we don’t know what we’re messing with.

But that got me thinking there must be something to psychics etc. Otherwise the bible wouldn’t mind a bit of harmless spiritualism.

For the fee psychics charge, I hope they are really psychic. Why are they so expensive?

It's complete nonsense. There are no such thing as people who can 'read' or predict the future, and nor do departed relatives hang around in some sort of ethereal state for the purpose of helping people find lost car keys.

Nobody has ever been able to demonstrate precognition under controlled conditions, so it self-evidently is not just a case of 'training the brain'. If it was, the world would be full of people who were adept, it would be well studied and understood, and it would be demonstrable and repeatable.

There's nothing 'scientific' whatsoever about supposed 'psychic' powers. Some people might genuinely believe they possess them, but they are as frequently hopelessly off the mark as they ever are accurate, but human brains are geared to recognise patterns even where none exist, so we're prone to honing in on the few things that might be plausibly close to truth and totally ignore the inaccurate stuff. It's much the same with people who claim to have 'prophetic' dreams. I've experienced it myself, but it's nothing but confirmation bias. The one time you have a vivid dream which appears to have some relevance to reality stays in the mind, whereas the far more frequent nonsense dreams are quickly forgotten.

My partner reads tarot as a party piece. Unsurprisingly, the people who believe in precognition are invariably impressed by her ability to relate the process to some relevant aspect of their lives, even after she's explained that it's nothing more than a parlour trick that involves a little bit of cold reading and a lot of leading conversation. She openly admits she has no psychic capabilities whatsoever and regards people who claim they do as charlatans who fleece and abuse the gullible.

There is no such thing as people who are 'genuinely' psychic and people who are fake psychics, some of them are just more adept at the con job.

I used to work in an environment where I had access to former senior detectives, in an advisory capacity, I'll say no more as it's too outing.

In times past, I understand the police have used mediums because my great uncle was on their books and would be contacted in misper cases but that was back in the 70s/80s. However, when I broached the subject, my contacts wouldn't comment or answer my questions. Instead, I was told, "Sometimes people come forward with information."

It was surprising. I had a good relationship with those contacts who'd invited me to visit the Crime Museum in Scotland Yard, which, whilst a dubious honour, is not open to the public. But on mediums, I was very much shut down.

This great uncle was a full-time medium, and I have many incredible stories about him, including one that directly involved me.

I have no doubts that there are genuine people out there, I've had experiences myself, but I think they are quite rare and I do think most are either grifting or a bit deluded.

Surely if they are evil the messages mediums get wouldn't give people hope and closure?
