Can God make mistakes?

If you're a Christian - of any denomination - do you believe that God can make mistakes by putting people in the wrong bodies? I am thinking specifically of transgender people, obviously.

If you do believe that God can make mistakes, how do you connect this with the rest of your faith?

If you don't believe that God can make mistakes, how can you explain why transgender people feel the way that they do?

I am a Christian and my (atheist) friend asked me about this and I just didn't know how to answer her. Of course I don't believe that God can make mistakes - I KNOW He can't make mistakes. So how does that make sense within the context of the feelings of transgender people?

Was just wondering what other Christian's personal thoughts were about this.

You really believe that we live in a perfect world? I would be interested in your definition of an imperfect one.

Absolutely this!

@HannibalHeyes , I believe whilst everything in this world is not perfect, as a Christian, I believe all can be 'made perfect', through the redemptive power of Christ (as I alluded to in my previous post). I believe all has the potential to be perfect, work seamlessly and harmoniously together, in unity with God. This, I believe is intrinsic within the design of life. However, I also believe, there are infinitely complex interactive systems which when pushed out of balance result in equal and opposite reactions to compensate - which can result in suffering until righted.

And as for the perfection? We just get glimpses of it in this life but when we do it is marvellous.🙂

@DaisyJoy1 You're very welcome 💖I have seen The Chosen and liked it a lot - really brings the Bible to life.
Love C.S.Lewis, this extract from The Magician's Nephew is great. Digory is asking Aslan (Jesus) to heal his dying Mother:

'But please, please - won't you - can't you give me something that will cure Mother?'
Up till then he had been looking at the Lion's great feet and the huge claws on them; now, in his despair, he looked up at its face. What he saw surprised him as much as anything in his whole life. For the tawny face was bent down near his own and (wonder of wonders) great shining tears stood in the Lion's eyes. They were such big, bright tears compared with Digory's own that for a moment he felt as if the Lion must really be sorrier about his Mother than he was himself. 'My son, my son,' said Aslan. 'I know. Grief is great'.

Well, if you believe in a personal God you might explain it by being part of a greater plan. Everyone has a purpose in this plan.

you might believe god doesn’t do anything after the act of creation

you might believe good and bad things need to happen. Can there be light without darkness?

if the purpose of creation is for God to experience itself all experiences, both good and bad would need to occur

the physical world was created by the demiurge (see Gnostic Christianity) and therefore physical life is full of sin and pain

Satan is sent to try peoples faith (see Job)

controversially they nights argue God got it rights and they are going against gods will having been corrupted by the fallen world.

if you believe in reincarnation- they have to learn something in this life to move on towards ultimate salvation

loads of other explanations out there if you do some research
